I have the 183 kabuki, but I don't use it much since I fell in love with the 187.
see i have the 187 but just don't get on as well with it. i only like using it for the cooling powder. my 182 is the brush i use for pressed powder and buffing! and of course i love to use my 134 brush for loose powder :)

It follows that we both need the new kabuki brush

Was the 183 limited edition?

I believe so, but I might be wrong. It has a flat top rather than a rounded one (like the 182). I had mine for a long time. If I remember correctly, I bought it in 2007 when I was still living in the UK.

I think I am going to skip all lipsticks, cremesheens and most eye shadows so that I can buy all brushes.

MAC probably won't relaunch brushes . There are always dupe for colors.

Well, I guess that I can skip the lipsticks since I am getting over the Lustre finish--just have too many as it is and none of the colors look super unique (although they do look yummy). If I had to narrow down to one MSF, I am thinking I would get the lightest, pinkest one and then the coral and pink MB--cuz I go cuckoo for MB. I would even get the bronzey one if it isn't too dark (it will be, they almost always make my face look like I rolled in mud) As for the MES, I have not been too impressed with them, but I would like to try the gold and black melange just for shizzles & giggles...I don't know about the brushes--I am sure they are all incredibly delishous, but I have enough in the brush department at the moment and it is hard to buy staples when there is actually nice variety of color in the color story!

So, lets see, 2 MB + 1 MSF + 1 MES, maybe I won't go too broke

I think I'm going the opposite route of everyone here and only buying lip stuff. I haven't been wowed by any of MAC's mineralize stuff, and since I believe the brushes are made for those that whole area is a skip. Musky Amethyst looks like the perfect rosy-plum I've been lemming for, so that's a buy. Looks Like Sin looks interesting enough to try out, and Richly Revered looks like my favorite Over Indulgence cremesheen glass that I'll probably be out of by the time this collection rolls around.

This does make sense, especially as the brush is angled. Thanks for the update. Did the MA recommend any other brushes? Oh man, July will be such an expensive month!
She liked all the brushes. I don't think that helps

I guess the best thing to do is look at the brushes you already have. If you don't have a lot of face/eye brushes you can buy the ones in this collections. If you already have a lot of eye/face brushes you might be able to skip those.

My birthday is in July! I don't think that means I can afford to buy everything I want from this collection as a present to myself though.

I'm really interested in checking out those brushes! Although brushes alone are already going to cost me quite a fair bit. I always have a love/hate relationship with HUGE collections like this one.

I think I cant keep up with MAC. just recently got over quite cute... im still in the hype wave for candy yum yum.... didnt try ever hip from fashion flower nor hibiscus... nor saffron (also cos im not in the US my package is there lol) but... money wise, i dont have time to save as much if they keep pulling out two collection per month! I limited myself to 3 items max per collection (not including backups).

I feel like im spending over 100 a month on make up. is that ridiculous?

My 183 still holds up well and I used it a lot. Even if I complain about the high prices of MAC brushes, I have to admit that they last forever if you take care of them. I also wash my brushes after every use, but most of them are still in good condition.

Did you purposely miss out on the 183 or were you just not interested at that time?

Anyway, I am excited that MAC came up with new ideas for brushes. I hope they live up to my expectation.

For me this collection is only about the brushes so I hope we get some more information soon. I'll ask at my MAC store to see if they've tried them. I know they'll go fast but I don't want to snatch them all up and then not like or use them.

I'm having a tough time imagining the kabuki being useful for me. I like both natural and synthetic kabukis but I just can't see how I could properly control what part I was using with this brush? And if I used it on one side of my face then how would I manage to use it in the same way on the other side?

The smaller face brush seems like something where I would only use one side at a time. That could be good for somebody without a big brush collection (not me!) but it could also be useful to use in different ways or with different products. Like I might apply setting powder down the centre of my face with the natural side then apply a light dusting all over with the synthetic side, then apply blush with the natural side and highlighter with the synthetic side? Something like that? Or maybe if I were applying a bronzer or blush primarily as a contour then I could hold it at an angle where I would get a heavier application with the natural side in the area I'm contouring?

The eye brushes I'm most interested in for cream products. If I can apply and blend quickly without switching brushes then that would be very useful! If you're a mineral or pigment user then I think you could dampen the synthetic side and apply colour to the lid and then turn the brush over to blend out your edges with the natural side. I assume they're launching these brushes with the mineralized collection for a reason but I don't like the mineralized makeup.
