I personally preferred using my fingers. The brush does work really great though for lining or doing like a smudgey line under your bottom lash line. Others like the brush, but I normally apply all my makeup with my fingers :)

After I took it off, I realized how much I liked the way my lips looked with it on. The first time I tried it on, I had been wearing a coral ls first, that might have been part of the problem.

It really is! I asked a a lady that has worked for Chanel for 31 years why they have to make collections like this SO limited, make enough for people to buy - they could make more money. She said Chanel is not interested in that

Elegant, would you be willing to show us what Rouge Byzantin looks like on your lips? There's been a ton of hand/arm swatches, but to me it's always quite different on the lips. :) Thanks!

I'm just a little weird about doing that...but I'll think about it dear. I have really pigmented lips, & its the same color on my lips as that swatch on my arm, just deeper. That swatch is really color accurate ;) Its definitely a cool pink red

The sentiment is appreciated though. I'm just a little worried since I'm ordering it blind and I'm much tanner/deeper than everyone who's swatched it...it may be a completely different color on me, but we'll see.

I find it strange that there are no testers in stores for the Byzance collection, Selfriges had testers for everything... Do we know how many pieces of each have been made? I'm just curious. I wonder how many are available in the UK. It sounds like a mission to get hold of it but it really wasn't for me so I'm surprised I managed to get them. I didn't even know it was out yet. Do all Selfridges stores carry it or just the London one?

On a whim today I ordered the whole Byzance kit and kaboodle (the quad, the 2 JCs and the lipstick) - just said what the heck. I called the Soho boutique. I'll have it Wednesday, so if the light is good, I'll post a pic (along with my weekend haul, Haven

) and describe the colors as best I can.

Michelle, Pampille is a fabulous, sparkly medium pink - I love it so much I'm thinking about a backup (can't remember if it's perm). The sparkles aren't crazy, they just give a really nice effect. And it looks good over both of the lipsticks.......not to enable.....not that I would EVER do THAT!!

hahaha...I always use a bit of concealer or foundation or pencil around the outside of my lips after ls - it shows in the pic
