MAC - MAC Me Over Discussion

I would love to see Equilibrium on a really cool toned face, if anyone sees any pics or reviews by pink skinned lasses I would love to know about it! Would also love to see any comparison swatches between it and Prim & Proper form LOL, or Eversun from Style Warriors.

My list has been growing since the swatches started pouring in and now my list looks like:
226
Carbonized
Creamy Bisque
Cakeshop & Street Cool
Stunner
Equilibrium
Curvaceous l/g

That's not that bad right? I figure I can skip Dark Envy and Midnight Blues because I have Shade and Penned. I know those 2 are darker but I think similar enough for my purposes as a liner or a base.

I was so into Carbonized until I realized it's really close to Centre Stage from Peacocky. I love that shadow, but I definitely don't need anything similar.

I don't have Centre Stage, so maybe i should cave in and buy Carbonized? I think after this mac shadow I might start investing more in MUFE shadows since you speak highly of them. And im tired of mac with all these limited edition stuff making me sweat and not giving me enough time to save up

Carbonized seems like a good alternative. A color like that comes in handy. Please do check out Mufe, though. I just bought another shadow yesterday. I am slowly collecting them. :D I just love that brand. So many conflicting stories on the shadesticks. Are they creamy or not. If I order one or two and it's the same dry crap, I will throw those things out the window. I passed off Cakeshop twice for being a drag on my lids. They may swatch creamy, but perform crappy again. :sigh: I played with Laura Mercier caviar sticks yesterday and they are a dream. Too bad there aren't any colors I need.

I swatched my own Centre Stage on my arm (similiar skin tone to Christines) and compared it to Carbonized - it's nearly identical.

Has anyone who owns both compared Offshoot to Midimauve? I'm sitting here with my tube of Midimauve and a mirror and the Temptalia page trying to figure this out LOL.

Midimauve looks a bit browner and has some silver frost in it and is also a Lustre, but in many ways it looks very close to Offshoot - to me, anyway....But my lips are also more pigmented than hers are.....

The only thing I am thinking to get so far is Stunner blush- but I wonder whether it will even show up on my NC 30 skin?

What makes me laugh is that I disagree with her standards for eye shadows in particular.....i've been out of town, so i haven't been able to see this quad in person yet, but i'm not going to be super surprised if it's actually nice (but sheer) when i check it out.

I couldn't agree more.

On the plus side, an F review means, it will last much longer on the website and in store. Hooray :)

Thanks to those who have compared Carbonized to Centre Stage. I have CS and love it but don't need both, especially since CS is so huge!

Despite the F rating I will keep the Evil Eye quad on my list. The colors are right up my alley. While I appreciate all of the hard work Christine does on her site especially in regards to swatch pictures, I do find that I disagree with her reviews on a fairly frequent basis. Some of my favorite and most used things were given horrible reviews by her. And some of the things she loves (for example Hourglass e/s duos) I find to be horrible. Just goes to show you have to decide for yourself so your mileage may vary.

I wonder how the shadows in this quad do if you apply them with a damp brush?

Yes, her site is fantastic as a reference, especially as the "official information" is very organized.

i find I disagree with her too, especially when she reccomends suff for woc... I would've missed out on a lot had I only listened to her and didn't try for myself.

How "teal" is midnight blues? Temptalia's picture made it look kind of green, and she described it as having teal in it, which makes me really sad as I really wanted it to be navy. Any comments from people that have seen the shade?

I agree. The main one that sticks out for me is the review of the Tartan Tale palettes. I think the 2 I bought are amazing and she didn't like them much at all. It's all her opinion and while I enjoy reading it, I rely more on her pictures. I've added Creamy Bisque to my list. I don't really need another highlighter, but I like the pink tint to it. I'm hoping that if I try it on my lid, it won't look ashy. I'm still wavering on everything else. I just don't know.

Does anyone think that creamy bisque is a must or will sell out fast? after seeing more swatches I want it now but it wasn't in my budget. *sigh*

Shontay, are you getting Outre? I think it would look stunning on darker skin tones.
Dude, I thought about it but is it even remotely close to Wedge, Soba or any of those other Mac neutrals? I have a few of those. This collection will be online at some point tomorrow, right? I really need to do my research and start comparing shades.

I don't think it will sell out within a few minutes. However, if you want it, I would not wait too long, especially as it is the only highlighter in this collection.
