MAC - MAC Me Over Discussion

I was really surprised when Temptalia gave the Evil Eye Quad a F rating!! I was going to get that quad but I might as well take that quad off of my list and maybe add Lady Grey Quad to my list instead or wait until I swatch it when I go to my MAC counter on Thursday.

I had the same reaction!!! But I trust Christine's comments. I am sooooo excited about this collection, but at the same time, her assessment of the quad made sense. I feel like alot of Mac's eyeshadow quads that come out with collections tend to be very "watered down" and just not of the same quality as their permanent shades. I haven't gotten a limited edition quad in a loooooong time for this very reason. Some of the individual shades that come out in collections tend to be pretty nice though. I got "Bows and Courtseys" and really like it. Likewise, I got several shades from Dare to Wear (my all time favorite collection!) and they are the bomb. I also think that the individual shades that are coming out with Mac Me Over will be nice as well. I cannot even wait until Thursday. This is going to be a long week!

^Yeah, I'd rather have MAC make quads that have the same pigmentation as the permanent eyeshadows. The last quad that I bought was CUTiE Quad from Quite Cute.

I just realized that I do have a shadestick from Warm and Cozy. I have Relaxed. I had always thought of it as a GPS because I never had any problems with it. I guess I will go ahead and get Heirloom and Cakeshop and just hope for the best.

Unless you use the colour all the time, I don't think it's worth the money to get MB. I'd grab another colour instead.

I am going to need them to post the #226 brush and Dark Envy and then I am done with this collection until I see it Thursday.

I haven't been following a lot of stuff but you guys have talked me out of carbonized even though it looks so much browner than Center Stage.

I have Ochre Style and used it about once but I might try it at a highlight based off of Karlasugar and see how that goes.

Not wanting to stress anyone but I do want to let my peeps here know that at one of our freestanding stores and one of our busiest counters I have heard managers say that there are items they are sweating about because they got limited stock.

im the same... which is why i turned away from alot of products.... i tend to trust her word more than some counter girls!! i quite like collecting quads but if im not going to use all the colours i tend to not bother... and when i saw the review i was stunned but that made my mind up for me and decided i wouldnt bother.

Ehh, I can't expect my tastes to be on point with any reviewer's 100% of the time, so I'd take any letter grade (including Christine's F) with a grain of salt, But... swatches don't lie. And those swatches really looked AWFUL.

I think I'm going to stick with Midnight Blues and maybe Stunner for this collex. Equilibrium looks lovely, but dupeable with bronzer. Lady Grey seems well-pigmented, but I know that 2 of the 4 shades don't suit me. The sparkle in Avenue looks like it won't make much of an impact once applied on the eyes, which makes it pretty much a brown-black liner. Skipping the darker lippies and satisfying my craving with Wet N Wild's Vamp It Up l/s. DE-LEMMING PROCESS COMPLETE.

The Basics part of the collection is up on MAC's US site. Just gotta look through the site map and click on Rachel and Ian.
