MAC - MAC Me Over Discussion

Lou those colours look great on you. I bet Mythical brings out your blue eyes too.

Quick verdicts on what I got:
Runway Red, stunning true red on me. Thought it would pull too orange like most reds do or based on what others have said, be too pink. It does have a slight pink tinge but looks very true red on me.
Secret Lover, I love this, it's a pretty glazed sort of pink nude, very pale colour but works because it is sheer. It tones down natural lipcolouring nicely and has a lovely sheen.
Peachstock, I thought this might be a bit concealery on me and thought I'd have to dab it on but I can use it straight from the tube, it looks very peachy on me (very warm toned skin).
Oh, Oh, Oh, Gorgeous berry with shimmer, very good autumn colour and I think would work well on a lot of skintones.
Avenue, love this colour, you can see the gold shimmer much easier in person. Not tried in on my eyes yet but so far so good.
Carbonized, so smooth, well pigmented and gorgeous. The shimmer in it is perfect when the sun hits it.
Mythical, even smoother, again well pigmented and a lovely colour. Blue eyes would look stunning with this. I think even blending some blue tones into it to get a bit of a blue-purple-copper gradient would be lovely, I should try this to see.
211, reminds me of Bobbi Brown Ultra Fine Eyeliner brush but a bit more pointed. Looking forward to trying it. Seems well made.
226, both of mine are slightly different from each other but I used the one which was less tapered this morning and I just love it. I just looked to get another one but it is sold out :( Nevermind, next time it comes out I will get another one. It applies colour into the crease really easily and the shorter hairs blend it out. Again, seems well made, just shape inconsistencies.

Anyone in the UK who want more things from this collection (or anything from MAC) check out Debenhams, they are on sale now!

The collection came out saturday here and i got:
226 brush (x2)
dark envy and dark diversion f/ls
stunner blush
runaway red l/s
carbonized e/s

I'm really happy with these. Stunner is so so pretty! I tried the 226 today for the first time and i'm glad i got a back up.
I don't understand why so many people hate the evil eye quad. The evil eye and moody shadows swatched really nice on me and they are really pretty colours. Spellcaster did have some problems swatching with my fingers, but so does carbon. I think with a brush it will work better. Palace Pedigreed swatched the same as the one from the fabulous felines pallete i have and i can make that one work really nice. So overall i think it's a nice pallete. I might go back for that one and the lady grey quad when i have money and if they are still available then.

Bah, I've been sick so I still haven't had a chance to visit the counter again :( Well, I'll be Helsingin tmw anyways despite my flu so if they still have Dark Envy and Mythology I'll most probably will get them ;)

I have yet another question about Mythical - how does it compare to Bold&Brazen? See, I'm haunted, I should just buy the damn shadow.

I would go for it. There are some similar colours, but I have to say that this one really seems to be something I haven't seen before. Surely your peace of mind is worth more than the cost of one eye shadow?

I am a newbie to posting, but have lurked FOREVER! LOL! You girls and guys rock! :)

Here are pics of my 226 brushes... The two on the far left are from the latest collection. The last three are from the past collection(from 2009). The last brush(far right) is VERY tapered, the other older ones, just so so...

I actually LIKE the new ones, yes, they DO remind me of a smaller 224, but if you have small eyes, it is perfect IMO for blending crease colors.

Hope this helps.
Except for the one on the far right, I have seen all of these shapes on display with the collection at various MAC counters and stores in my area. They all vary so much!

I know. The MA let me go through all the 226 brushes, and I picked the two on the left in this collection. The three on the far right are from the 2009 collection, and the last one was different than the other two I bought in '09. LOL.

I can't stress enough though that I love this brush, EVEN the new design. I have small, almond shaped eyes, and the new brushes fit PERFECTLY in the crease. The 224 is too large for me, so I normally use the 222 to blend out, but the new 226 is perfect for that(for my eye shape).

Also, I find the new style 226 brushes are SO much softer than the old style, even when I first bought the old ones, I noticed they were a bit scratchy.
