I am EXACTLY the same way right now! I put PG in my cart to order then I looked at the swatches again & now all of the sudden I want the Holiday one. What on earth is wrong with me

It would be great to see them both side by side at a Nordstrom but I doubt that would be a possibility for me. I don't think Nordstrom has gotten the holiday stuff in yet and I don't know how many counters still have PG. It might be worth a call I guess?

Well, as I just said, our Nordstrom has them in, and anything leftover from recent collections, so certainly worth the try...

I would love some color input if anyone can on both Pearl Glow & the new Holiday highlighter!

It looks to me as thought maybe the Pearl Glow is a bit more natural whereas the Holiday HL is more iridescent looking??? I prefer more natural than a lot of like a bubble reflect.

Bah, I feel strong in my lack of desire for the holiday highlighter (I think it'll look ashy on my skin) but now I'm wondering about that Pearl Glow powder...but $60 for a highlighter is a bit too far out of my comfort zone. I'll leave it to you ladies. My local Nordies did say they should be getting their holiday stuff any day now (and Friday at the latest), so I'll give them a call tomorrow and see if it's in.

Fruity Lashes posted more swatches, and I'm yet again annoyed at how similar Famous and Rouge Byzantin look. This definitely seems like a color one needs to test in person as on some swatches it looks strawberry pink, and on others more magenta. Dangit. I'm going to retry the Laque formula with Empire, it looks much too pretty to ignore.

^^It looks like Fruity Lashes is doing a comparison swatch of Famous and Rouge Byzantin soon. I see the pics of Rouge Byzantin and wonder why in the world I didn't get it. So hopefully Famous will work. My hubs will probably faint when he sees me wearing a bright red lippie -- so out of the norm for me!

Since we didn't get Rouge Byzantin, I'll actually be very happy if Famous looks like it. It is gorgeous in pictures, regardless. Other than that, I'm really interested in the highlight powder, even though I have no need whatsoever for a highlight powder and should be legally prevented from buying one ever again.

Okay, I hope I do this well! I already have Pearl Glow. And I swatched the new highlighter today. Different lighting and I am pale, an NW15, but will do my best.

Pearl Glow is more glittery and frosty looking than the highlighter in the holiday collection. It is also more of a goldish white colour while the new highlighter (sorry, bad at names) had more of a beige/skin colour to it. Both are gorgeous but they are different. I think for me, at least, the best way I can describe it on my skin is that Pearl Glow is more of a shimmery, frosty pearl highlighter, whereas the one in the holiday collection is more of a satin sheen pinkish skin tone one. That is on my skin, which has pink undertones. On golden skin this will look a lot different. But I hope that helps. If I go back and get the other I will swatch for all of you....just not sure I will be or when it will be. I just can't decide with the price being $75.00. A bit over the top for me, since again I feel like I am paying mostly for packaging and the brush, the latter which I will not be using much and the former which cannot be refilled. If this was refillable, that would be awesome, even if it were different coloured highlighters. Sigh...

My nordies had this collex out already I went there today & I am so in lovee.. I loved all reds. highlighter was so pretty against my NC 42 skin, will def go back for that.. Who said holiday season is inexpensive...

Oh, & a lil OT but I forgot this. We bought the kids these small 2" x 3" HD video cameras that they can attach to their motorcycle helmets so we can see some of their travels & whatever else...well, our son strapped it to their dog's back behind her head & then took her for a walk.

The video from her view was absolutely hilarious that we couldn't stop watching it or laughing. I love this light-hearted stuff.

I just need to say that I wish I were related to you! Really. You are the most caring and thoughtful mom/mil and you always go out of your way to do special things for your son and his wife. I hope they know how lucky they are! That dog video sounds priceless! Our cat is a loveable huge pain in the butt (lol), but I'm crazy about dogs and can't wait to get a few. It WOULD make great TV! Speaking of, are you watching ANTM all stars?

I may pass Rouge carat because thebeautylookbook said it is closest to Shanghai Red, and I did not like it. SR is warm and didm't look good on me when I tried it a couple of years back.

On highlighters, have anyone seen the YSL highlighter? Wonder how to compares to Chanel. I so wanted YSL highlighter from holiday last year but couldn't get it much to my disappointment. The blogger here loves this year's.

I think it looks different on Sabrina because she is more tan. I tried Pearl Glow on my cheeks at the counter, and nothing showed up. Not sure if it's the counter lights, and the MA also commented that it could be that I'm pale, because she saw nothing too.

The Chanel highlighter certainly looks prettier. I bet Chanel's is also more subtle. I returned my unused Pearl glow because, I knew that the holiday one was coming out. Now, i wonder if i made a mistake.

jmarie, ElvenEyes description and Miss QQ's comments about not showing up have me thinking maybe I shouldn't have ordered Pearl Glow!

Who knows! I think in the end it's just a matter of seeing how they look on your own skin tone.

In any case I think I'll give my Nordstrom another call today and see if maybe the person I spoke with last week was wrong about when they were getting the collection. Half the time there they just answer "Chanel" when they're really from another counter.

I was actually content with my decision to pass on the holiday highlighter and now I see this...OMG!

I want 3 things on her arm (holiday, pearl glow, and the Armani). That Armani highlighter haunted me last year and now I'm sure it'll haunt me again (ughhh!). After seeing those swatches I'm even more confused. This is impossible, lol.

I just need to say that I wish I were related to you! Really. You are the most caring and thoughtful mom/mil and you always go out of your way to do special things for your son and his wife. What a very very sweet thing to say!!! I am so glad that you are back here my dear! I just love them more than anything & want them to enjoy life as much as they can. They are very appreciative. The dog thing, oh ...funny funny They also have a big fluffy black cat & yes, they are loveable too.

Oh yes! of course I am watching ANTM. I will forever be addicted to it. I do wish that they would show more of when they do the hair makeup & photo shoots. I love the little girl whose grandma makes the clothes she wears on the set.

Well, I made myself sleep on the highlighter decision because I still love both but I refuse to buy both.

I remember liking PG in person but I can't remember why I didn't buy it.

elveneyes & Missqq - thanks for posting your thoughts & descriptions as it all helps. But, I still do not know what to do.

Winthrop - I hate that when they answer the phone from another dept. & try to make you think they know what you are talking about but they really don't I always say, so you really don't know anything about Chanel cosmetics then!?
