MES have started making my eyes feel dry & itchy after I wear them a while. I think I am developing an allergy to them so I'm just not going to bother with them anymore. So sad. I love mune especially my RSS & SB ones. :-(

Specific shades or all of them?

oh that isn't good. the only one i have a weird reaction to is smoked ruby. for some weird reason if i get hot my eyes start to sting a little when wearing this shade but when i'm cold it doesn't. i know it's not my imagination because it happens each time i wear it. weird yes?!

^ not weird.. it's called a mild allergic reaction to some element (pigment) or mineral in the mes. It happens a lot.

I try to minimize fall out by really dusting my brush off before I apply directly to the lid, using a really soft brush, and using a primer like a PP or apply the MES wet to minimize fall out. Then they irritate my eyes less. Of course my opthalmologist would really prefer I don't use any irritating eye make up at all, but he does not understand fashion dang it!

I'm having the same problem. This wasn't always the case, but I find that they now have a tendency to make my eyes very, very itchy or watery, especially around the outer corners.

All of them are doing it to some extent. I even tested out some I hadn't worn in a while & the same thing happened. I can use a primer & base, it still happens. It really sucks because I love my Style Black ones & I have never found a better red shadow color that the red she said one. Really not happy here.

I was starting to get this too, particularly with the more glittery MES. My two best guesses are that applying a wet brush directly to the pan is a BAD idea (which I've stopped doing all together) and also that getting them too close to the lash line and especially the tear ducts is a BAD idea - those glitter particles feel very sharp edged.

Now I just make sure to apply them with a very small brush in any area where i could get them too close to moist areas or near the moist edges - about 2-3 millimeters away from waterlines and ducts. Then, my eyes do waaaaaay better with them. Also had to do this with the Mega Metal shadows. If I'm going to wear them, I also make sure my eye cream and primer have completely dried and sunk into my skin before applying them, just to be sure they won't budge. On hot days, I'm being extra careful and just don't use them in the ducts at all, because even fine sweat makes those particles migrate bit by bit into my tender eye bits. Finally, if I'm wearing MES, I make doubly sure to remember not to rub my eyes or face (I'm normally a serious face toucher) - like mantra-level mental reminders. I definitely don't have this issue with the non-glittery, non-shimmery, satin-finish MES, such as from In The Groove. In fact, I wish they'd bring some more of that kind of MES back, since some of those trios were majorly beautiful and subtle (like Soften the Mood).

My tearducts and waterlines don't love the glitter particles. I was reading in the G&I thread that the water based mixing medium helps the MES stay put better, so I may have to give it a whirl. Overall my strategy is to limit MES use to about once a week or so on the eye area so limited toxic exposure. I wish we could get the pretty MES veining without the toxic fall out. I am hoping for new technologies. In the mean time, just avoiding the problem areas helps. And I carry a bottle of Visine with me on the days I expect a reaction. I know, bad eyeball hygiene but sometimes one must suffer for beauty...

Does not remind of my paradise. this looks like it will complement ever skin tone better as in not just adding a glow like my paradise.

Nice clear shots of some of the Tendertones and those Extra Dimension shadows:

Thanks to Copperhead for linking this gallery in the Iris Apfel thread.

Great shots- thanks for the links! The shadows look very cool, but I'm really more curious to know how they look on application. I don't want to fall into the trap of buying something because it looks really cool in the case...
