Mac is going MES crazy imo. I mean, Semi-Precious is understandable since it's the mineralized collection but then G&I, Naturally collection, and now the Mac for Chen Man MES which sound so pretty I'm gonna be buying them all

I'll be buying the new MES too (unless they are like some of the old ones, like the perm ones they came out with). I too prefer veining, but a mES is still a MES. :)

Oh wow! I just came back from the vet & this board is jumping! Hello to all my fellow cat mommies out there (and meow to all your furry babies). I was just going to post what "T" added on her site about the Chen Man collection. I see a lot of you beat me to it. LOL. MAC is really trying to bankrupt us now aren't they? Well, at least we will all be beautiful with all our makeup.

I'm very interested to see the colors for the mineral e/s from Chen Man. They should be fascinating & beautiful.

As for Indian Ink. I didn't know it was a pro shade. Thank you ladies. I thought it said somewhere that it was an Indian Ink palette though. So maybe a palette with different Indian Ink purpley colors? I really need to get it whatever it is. Sounds dreamy.

^Agreed. The glitter zipper from "Red" She Said was noy appealing for me but I still love the Danger Zone MES that I got.

I have a question I hope HG or one of our other resident experts can shed some light on. When EL develops a new technology does it eventually show up in all of their lines? I loved the EL Modern Mercury hybrid highlighter from their fall collection. I recently picked up 2 of their new "cyber" shadows which seem to be the same sort of hybrid formula (powder/gel) and I love these as well (especially Cyber Lilac and Cyber Green which actually looks more like a blackened green with gold). I would love to see something from MAC in this formula but with some of their offbeat colors.

I'm not an expert but I've followed the makeup business for a long time. I've found that EL seems to keep it's brands and their patents quite separate while L'Oreal seems to share them quicker. EL also seems to be putting a lot of effort into their flagship brand to make it more fashionable right now - it's working too! I bought the Cyber Silver today. If I like it in practice then I'm getting a couple more colours. Are you applying them with a brush or with the sponge-tip? I test them out with the sponge and then blended the edges with a brush. I love the finish on these and they wore great on my hand while I walked around the mall for a couple hours. I'm just not so sure about blending them out or sheering them so I only bought the one to start. I loved the teal one as well. I don't wear purples but that one had an especially nice finish (purple lovers take note!). The other colours were very standard but I'd consider them if I love the way the formula wears.

I'm sure similar sorts of textures will show up in other brands but they might not be the same technology and they won't necessarily show up in other EL brands first.

hope I can help April. When EL develops a new technology like the Modern Mercury, it is registered and for proprietary use by EL the mama ship.. not for use by other companies. They may share formulae/tech somewhat, but not the exact formulations. Each company has their own production and creative teams.

I have all the Cyber ES.. and find them to be spectacular and the future for powder Es in future. The Highliter was also a sell out and is also going to influence products for the face (the tribrid gel/cream/powder formula)... I highly doubt that MAC will dupe the formula and be able to sustain prices as EL can command a higher price for new products.

too, the Creative Director (Tom Pecheux ) is another creative genius and will not be happily sharing formulas for other lines who although owned by the same company do not pay him his fees... these people are quite jealous of their creations.. as well they should be...and Pecheux is turning the old image of EL around.

That was extremely helpful. Thanks!
I love what Tom Pecheux has done for the EL brand. I used to avoid it like the plague but find myself drawn to several of their products now. And I can't stop raving about these new shadows. They are amazing. I have the ones I mentioned but I may go back and get the other shades.
