Cheryl -- I know, it can get so frustrating! I might have to call a few Nordies stores -- I am guessing they would have them in store, even if online is all sold out. Mythic is the only true nude RA that Chanel makes. Maybe they will come out with that perfect pink nude we are all wishing for

Oooooo, I was considering Coromandel.....do I need that one? Is it really yellow-based? I'm better with blue-based reds.....but swatches I've seen appeal to me.........thoughts anyone?

Coromandel is a fabulous orange-red. It's gorgeous and strong. I love it!

Crap... I may need to get another before Chanel pulls 'em. Drats!

So I got to check out the Velvets today...and imma need three of them--Raffinee, Fascinate, and Sensuelle. >_> I would've bought them today but I broke my till-Spring-no-buy by buying a vintage perfume (No.19 EDP!), and these are perm so I can wait. Luckily my fave Chanel SA snuck me the only one of those sample cards with the four lippies on them along with a ton of Sublimage samples, and Christmas is coming so. :3

Quick thoughts:

ZOMG BUY: Sensuelle (BEAUTIFUL berry red), Fascinate (surprised at how flattering this blue-red was on me), Raffinee (perfect no-brainer pinky nude)

Didn't work out - Caline (too light), Ravissante (too neon), Exquise (could tell by the tube it'd blend with my skintone)

Maybe later: Sompteuse (Audace's matte sister, but I liked Fascinate a tad more), Exuberante (didn't try but I fear it'll go neon)

Overall: Was surprisingly moisturizing, but as others have noted trying all at them at once = super dry lips. The color will skip if you have any chapping, so moisturize before applying.

EDIT: Spelling fail. >_<

Yay! Exuberante is pretty universally flattering too. I usually can't do colors like that or Fascinante either. If Fascinante surprised you maybe Exuberante will too, and luckily it's on the card.

How does Sensuelle compare to Fascinate? I have Fascinate and love it. I've read that Sensuelle is more of a berry color. Is this true? I'd love to try it but don't know that I need another matte red lipstick.

^^ Hi Elegant! I know, I can't believe how fast the holidays are coming!! I'm going to the Kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast tomorrow -- they all dress up like little pilgrims and Indians. Cutest thing ever. I need to get going -- because hello, I will need to be Christmas shopping soon!

I was looking for more nude pink lippies -- and how come I never got Admirable #42?? http://littlestarsbeauty.blogspot.com/2011/08/chanel-rouge-allure-lipstick-in-42.html Of course, now it seems to be sold out everywhere . . . grrrr

I cannot believe we are here already! It seems like summer just left a couple of weeks ago. Time goes by too fast. I'm vey thankful that my family will be together for Thankgiving supper, and that my younger son will be home from school for most of the week. I'm also thankful for my fabulous family, good friends, electricity, a warm bed, and wonderful new 4-legged additions to our family! Not to get too sappy, but I am.

Sensuelle is deep and less pink, more berry-ish. Fascinante is quite a bit brighter. I have swatches of them here: http://morelikespace.blogspot.com/2011/11/making-faces-chanels-velvet-realm.html

I absolutely love both of them, they're my favourites in the whole line. I was going to limit myself to one to start, so I could test the formula and make sure I liked it, but I was so captivated by both that I couldn't choose between them.

I wore Famous for the first time yesterday and it is everything I wanted it to be. Amazingly, I swatched it on my arm with all my other cooler reds and I don't have one that looks like it. I find the shimmer subtle but it definitely has an effect on the overall colour. It helps take the sting out of the fact that we never got Rouge Byzantine at any of my counters.

Here's Famous on me:

C!.. Sappy is a great thing. It relieves our souls of our hurt, pain and joys... so enjoy the sappy feeling.

I am a born sap and refuse to change.. I will miss my family this Thanksgiving.. but will spend an extra hour on Skype with all of them .. and then chow down with a bunch of ruffian expats who live here too.. surprisingly there's a lot of us here!

on the ls thread.. I bought a bu of Rafinee..lol. Just a good daily colour for my Caspar colouring.

Hey Cheryl, I have cool undertones and usually look better with blue based pinks and reds. I ADORE the orange red Coromandel though just coz it's so friggin bold, def one of the top 5 lipsticks in my gigantic stash

Ooh, that IS pretty! I don't have that either :(

Aw Michelle that is adorable about the Thanksgiving feast! I have a picture of our son at one when he was in the first grade. He's sporting a Pilgrims hat & made me a Turkey paper plate where they draw around their hand

We have kept every single craft project & drawing he ever made.

Good Luck on the Christmas shopping!

Sadeeh - I agree, you look hot in your avatar! You rock Coromandel! Michelle - yeah, Admirable is a pretty pink, I think darker than Naive. I was tempted to get it. It's an old lipstick so it's not surprising it is discontinued. katred - Famous is stunning on you, and great that it is close to RB which you never get. HG - Enjoy your Raffinee lipstick. It's a joy when we find the perfect everyday lipstick. You have fun at the feast! Cheryl - very happy for you. I'm thinking how cute and fun your new beagles are. ;) I wore Ming yesterday and love how pigmented and moisturizing it is. But I realize the RALs aren't lasting on me. I eat and drink constantly and don't mind reapplying my lippies so I'm not bothered. Coromandel is too warm for me, I didn't buy it but got Dynastie, which is more brown. I have no celebrations coming up, boo hoo. Living vicariously through you all and your thanksgiving feasts! :D

Beautiful, Saadeh!! And I agree with Elegant - your new avatar is HOT!! II love Coromandel on you - I think I'll try to find a way to swatch it before deciding - sometimes yellow undertones or anything that leans toward orange can really look freaky on me.
