Leven, how long did it take for them to call you back after your demo interview?

Four and a half weeks after my makeup demo/interview I kinda got antsy and just called up the counter to ask the manager if she could give me an estimated time of when I might be getting the call telling me if I did or didn't get the job. I was then that I was asked if I would like to accept the Freelancer position. So i didn't get a call, I just called them myself.

I interviewed with Homa on 10/28 at Pentagon City Mall. I was told me come anytime between 10AM-3PM so I arrived at noon. Once I arrived, I waited around 30 minutes before she came out. By that time it was four other girls waited to be interviewed as well. So, it ended up being a group interview of three people because she quickly dismissed two candidates. One for wearing jeans and the other for not wearing any makeup. She is not a joke she knows what shes looking for so please be prepared and wear a full face of makeup (especially blush). She said that she was going to be interviewing for the next two weeks so she will let me if I made it to the next round. So, Im going to keep my fingers crossed that she calls me back. She said that my makeup was good and didnt tear me to pieces like she did the other two girls. I will keep you posted on the process if I hear anything.

I interviewed with Nordstrom's on Tuesday for a part time position at the MAC Counter I should here from them by Wednesday. Please keep your fingers crossed for me.

Congrats girly!!! that is SO awesome! Did you have to bring all your makeup to the demo?

I didn't! In the region I am in, they provided me! Thank you so much! It's been nearly 6 months and I am still learning something new every single day! I love my job so much. I hope you have the opportunity to work with MAC, it's life changing. A dream come true in all honesty. <3

How did it go!! I work at mac @ nordstrom, it's a lot of fun! But, also a lot of demands to meet depending on what time of the year it is. We've got tons of holiday events going on and presell and numbers we need to make, so it can be a bit stressful at times, but once it's over, it's bliss! Working at the mac counter is ALWAYS bliss, but it's those extra responsibilities at nordstrom that are sometimes overwhelming! But so worth it! :)

I've been hired as part-time at the Herald Square, NYC counter [just waiting for the Macy's HR people to process everything so I can fill out the final paperwork]. I can't wait to start!

Does anyone know if being hired for the holidays part-time is considered 'permanent'? Would I receive the employee discount?
I will be working at one counter, not at which ever location needs me like freelance/on-call employees. I ask because some business will hire seasonal employees and they don't get many of the perks a non-seasonal employee would get. Obviously I'm thrilled for the opportunity no matter what, I'm just curious.

Hey girl! Congratulations on your new hire! I know you feel very proud and just want to share with everyone but it's a good idea to completely refrain from posting the name of the company you work for and especially which store you work at ANYWHERE on the internet. (It's not even a good idea to type it on your profile on Facebook in the little area they provide.)

(It's not even a good idea to type it on your profile on Facebook in the little area they provide.) It's a long story but years ago, I was fired from an amazing job because of a post I made here on Specktra while discussing something work related. I wouldn't want to see that happen to anyone else.

Oh, I didn't know that...thanks for the heads up! You can really get into trouble just by mentioning - even on Facebook - that you work for a company?

This is a public forum and anyone can have access and read your posts without even registering (including your boss). So if you show the company in a negative light in any way, shape or form, that is breeching contract and you can be fired. (All the info is in a lot of the hiring mumbo jumbo that you pretend you read when you sign all your stuff at orientation.) Any questionable photos you have can be used against you too. It happens all the time :( Just be careful!
