MAC Daphne Guinness Discussion

the person who made that post and I have very different dupability standards. with a neonish color like CYY just a slight off color just switches it to a bright pink/fucsia. I actually tried that "recipe" and nope... not really a dupe. I appreciate the effort, its just that for that I can use Barry M.


BTW today I bought M.A.C. red and I got 4 compliments in an evening at the mall... maybe I should do red more :p it's my 7th red.... I didn;t need it but.... oh well, always looking for the perfect blue red! now i got the perfect orange red (lady danger) and the perfect blue red!

Yeah. I loved the creativity of mixing to make a new lippie but I tried it and it just didn't have the neon vibe I was looking for imo I didn't realise not only do we both love mes but we both also love bright lipsticks! Show orchid is my all time favourite lipstick! If you are rocking reds at the moment, do you have an old mattene called seriously rich? I have been wearing recently and it's a great 1950's pinup colour..... I am thinking of getting the pink blush ombre but I am wondering should I if I already have well dressed and hang loose which I think are in the same colour family.....

I'm feeling a little Meh about the Blush Ombres. Not sure the color will work with my colouring. Might work with my olive toned mother but not yellow me.

Im excited the Blush Ombres are coming back so I will be picking up Vintage Grape this time because last time I slept on them. Also I wanna check out a few of the glosses

Damnit I cant wait to start seeing more swatches and reviews on this collection, the more I look at the blushes the more im starting to want both of them. And im sure once I start seeing more swatches.... Im going to want more of the collection

I was just on Facebook and on Temptalia's page she mentioned she was focusing on permanent shades since there's a break between Winter and Spring collections. A reader had asked when she would do swatches of Daphne Guinness and Christine said she can't review the collection until she buys it. I guess that rules out any likelihood she'll be able to swatch before the items hit the Pro stores, which is laaame. I wanna see some swatches already!

That is no good at all! I was counting on beauty blogger swatches to help me finalize my list. Now, it may just end up a scrammble! Which means I'll probably impulse buy lots more than I want to and end up with buyer's remorse! I can't stand waiting for swatches! Especially with ALL these new collections coming out around the same time... we need to conserve the budget so there's enough $ to go around MAC!

Interesting. If they're not sending samples to her, I can't imagine that they're sending them to other bloggers either. Maybe their PR is thinking that the potential value of increased buzz and publicity doesn't outweigh the potential negatives of a bad review. Or they're hoping that there are a lot of customers like PixieDancer

I actually find that I'm the opposite. If a collection doesn't stay in my face, I tend to sort of push it from my mind. I'll think of what I might want in my mind, but when I see lots of swatches and reviews, I end up getting convinced to buy what I wanted originally plus a whole lot of things that I hadn't thought about before. That completely happened to me with Spring Colour Forecast. I basically arrived at Mac the day of the launch, red in the face and foaming at the mouth screaming "ALL OF IT! I WANT ALL OF IT!!"

I wish I had more restraint! I just worry I'm going to miss out on the "IT" product and be disappointed! I hope the reviews aren't bad... but you make EXCELLENT points! Ok, I'm going to try REALLY HARD to follow your lead katred! Slow and steady will win this race! HeeHee

hmmm that is really weird that she isnt getting products for review? Being here in Australia we get our launches soooo much after the rest of the world its not funny, sometimes we wait a week and other times we wait 2-3 weeks before the collection hits here.

The reviews I dont depend on as much as I do the swatches. They are what help me decide on my lists.

It's not the first time Temptalia doesn't receive products... something has changed and Mac doesn't ship her the whole collections anymore O___o..
It seems Mac sends few products to every blogger who collaborates with them, the strange thing is that lately Mac sends only some kind of product! (for example it has been hard to find a Gareth Pugh metal x swatch! or Elude!)

Indeed! It certainly doesn't come as a surprise. "Don't bite the feeding hand."

But the good news is that each blogger can buy all products themselves if they want to do so, though it swatches will certainly come out later then.

yep swatches will arrive! I'm lucky because Daphne arrives in January with Iris Apfel.. so I have a chance to see some swatches.

Lately it seems as though MAC will give her a few products then she'll buy the rest from the PRO store. The sneak peak she does is what they send her then she'll do the full collection when she gets from the PRO store, which is usually why other bloggers have swatches up before her. Kinda boo it's done that way but I guess it's in MAC's best interest to limit what we see before the collection comes out in stores.
