Helpppp Mac interview

Hey everyone! I would love some feedback please I've been a makeup artist for 5 years now, I've worked for Lancome and Dior...last month I applied at a MAC Pro store, and within that week I had three interviews! One with store manager, one with Account Executive, and then the makeup interview...two weeks went by and I heard nothing...then the hiring recruiter called me and we had a hour interview over phone regaurding management....anyone else ever interview with hiring recruiter? Now three weeks and no call....they asked if I wanted management....and I said yes but id be willing to take anything!!! Just bogles my mind that I havent got a call...not even freelance! Does it usually take this long? Thanks for any replys!

YES it takes forever!! it took a month for me to even start. im on week number 2 to find out if i got my position at the store i applied and interviewed for. Management is tough if someone else who was with the company b4 applied and interviewed they will pick them because they were with the company and know how things run. the might offer you and assistant position over a store manager so you can get the hang of things but it does take FOREVER.

Ty so much! that really helps me to " hang in there" im recently unemployed but im so in love with the thought of working for MAC that I dont wanna let it go....last week I was accidently added to a group email and the recruiter invited me to a job fair......i replied to her saying that I still hadnt heard anything and I cant wait to hear some news and that I would LOVE to work for MAC.....and she just responded, " hey im sorry to email you about job fair, of course you dont need to reapply, have a great weekend!.........ummmm!!! Should I email again?ahh!! Lol

update as soon as i posted this i got the call. i didnt get the position but i was told to apply again april. i already work for the company. so i have the upper hand they want to see what i can do with the position i have now since i havent been a specialist very long

im a 20 hour artist with all my certifications that i can have at my counter and i was applying for a 20 hour and 18 hour position at mac store. working in the stores your considered the top of the top

paparazziboy - How are your numbers? The certifications are important to have but they also want to see that you are making your goals consistently and that you keep your AUS above your counter's average.

im above counter average my counter average is 45. and 2.3 currently month to date im at a 52 and 2.6. im always over my goals for the month . i come in every week and ask to see where we are at as a counter so i know what i need to do to push ahead i dont like to just settle for average i want to better than the average. i may have not gotten the store so that door closed for now but as of today i was just named the new product specialist. so another just opened i was told they wanna see what i do with my new position they know i can shake things up a bit and bring a lot to the table so im preparing myself to bring it and make my counter the best i can. were a top 5 counter in my region which is south central. so its my mission to help all the artist push themselves and get to the top. i have a plan for my MAC career. i tried to jump my plan by apply to the store before product specialist it didnt work so now that im ps im gonna bust my butt my next goal is impact team then to apply and get the store.
