Her swatch of Modern Mandarin makes me wants it, lol. It shows up as more pink, but when I tested it out in the store it did come across as being just straight-up orange on my skin.

I'm still team 6 providing it launches online on Tuesday I can't miss any of these and I have pink cult plus a backup. I think the texture is going to be amazing, plus even if some of the colours don't suit as a blush they can always be utilised in other areas

MM has some red undertones, which makes it much more wearable than a straight-up orange.

WOC will look exceptional in MM...im torn though...do you all think MM would look nice on tanned skin....im a fake tan nw30 and im just unsure. im for sure getting immortal flower...and pink cult keeps going on and off the list..and i do realllllyy want MM ..so if anyone is my coloring and has it and worn it pls let me know how it looks on you

My MUA let me see everything today and Modern Mandarin is absolutely gorgeous. I didn't open it to swatch, but the color is beautiful. I have several orange blushes, and thought I'd skip this one, but I put it on hold after all, along with Lovecloud. I think the rest will look ashy on me (NC45 for reference). Thanks for posting the swatches and link to your blog BTW.

You're welcome! The only orange blushes I have are MAC's Devil and NARS Taj Mahal. I was interested in MM because it doesn't look the like the two orange blushes I have. By the end of this weekend I'll know for sure if I want to order MM and PP. It's hard because PRO Nashville ALWAYS sells out of things quickly and I just found out that MAC PRO online and the regular website for non-pro members BOTH pull inventory from the warehouse in Louisville. So if something says "sold out" on the regular site, it will also say "sold out" once you log onto the PRO website. I know if I do want MM and PP I better get them quickly because once they launch online for non-PRO members everything will be gone. -_-

Hahaha, so funny, just watched T's Tres Cheek video and she's creating hype while saying "I don't want to create hype..."

So now even people who weren't worrying about these blushes selling out quickly are worrying, so chances are they will sell out even more quickly. Doh!

I'm on team 5, I think I'll skip Full of Joy because T says it's lighter than Azalea Blossom which is already too light/cool for me.

For me, it's all about the texture, which is why Team 6 is the only way to go.
I hope that new blushes will also be in this formula.

Late to this thread...the colors are so pretty! Usually Satins & Frosts do not agee with my skin, but have they been reformulated???

Went to a different Nordstrom last night and the MUA let me play w/ all the new goodies. I had a few questions but didn't get a chance to ask her b/c she was so busy (only MUA at the counter for some reason).

After looking at all the swatches on my arm, she rec'd Immortal Flower, Pink Tea, Pink Cult and MAYBE Lovecloud. Thought occurred to me that to this day, I still haven't properly swatched PP. Maybe my subconscious is trying to convince me not to buy it? /shrug

I really wanted to love FoJ, but it seemed really bright. I'm not giving up though! I'm going to try applying it sheerly to my cheeks the first opportunity I get.

My BF's expression when he saw MM was pretty hilarious, though. He couldn't understand why i'd be interested in something so orange =P Still on the fence w/ that one, as well.

Wondering if I should pre-sale and wait (im)patiently until I can pick it up on the 13th, stalk the websites, stick with my MACover appointment on the 5th or call the MUA on the 4th and beg her to put things on hold for me (she said she MIGHT be able to do that).

(sorry the swatch is so bright, my BF wasn't thrilled w/ the task he was given, haha. I also don't know why i look so tan =P)

i asked about the 169, which is on their system, but they appear not to carry it regularly. she said it isn't discontinued, but that perhaps it was LE?

are their any other brushes that would have a similar effect from mac, or maybe another brand?

Yes, it was LE. I'm sure the 169 will come back at some point. I don't know much about other brands, but look for a fairly dense, angled contour brush with synthetic bristles. Maybe somebody can name dupes for the 169?


I'm not surprised that Pink Tea has sold out so fast. It's a fantastic neutral blush that has a lot of oompf thanks to its wonderful sheen finish that you get from the new satin formula.

They are NOTHING alike. I repeat NOTHING alike!!! Early Morning is described by MAC as a peachy pink. Temptalia describes it as medium-dark coral-pink with hints of red. I think that T's description is more spot on. Modern Mandarin is more of the peachy pink that MAC may have meant with Early Morning. MM has way less red (if any at all) in it. Times like this I wish I had a camera that didn't suck. I have both blushes sitting in front of me and even without swatching they are clearly not even cousins.

Aside from the synthetic bristles, what sets the 169 apart from the 168 in terms of application? Are they a little similar or not even close? I wasn't into MAC when the 169 was released, so I'm not at all familiar with it

i tried the 130 just now with magenta...it has the density, but not the angled aspect...i might check out sephora sometime soon to see if they have anything.

yes i'm definitely hoping to get pink tea after the sales assistant let me swatch the shade (they had taken the tester off display). i'm debating whether to go through the internet fiasco, or just phone my local store and ask them to add it to my hold items for the 5th. i'll probably do the latter, since i will likely get my items at the same time anyway.
