MAC Tres Cheek discussion

Devil is more orange whereas MP is more brick/coral. If you apply it with a very light hand, the difference in color might not be as noticeable. However, the largest difference is the finish, a glossy sheen, that makes MM so unique.

Thanks Mac-Guy! I'll have to think about it, because with my complexion, I pretty much have to use a light hand with these sorts of colours. I just get totally fascinated with the way they look swatched on my hand and forget that that isn't how I wear them...

got my blushes, (MM, IF, LC, FOJ, PC) today!! They are all so beautiful and the texture is amazing. I must say Immortal Flower is so gorgeous. It was the one I was most drawn to when I opened my package, and I wore it today. Its the perfect color for fair skin (I am NC15-20) because at first it applies pretty sheerly, but you can definitely build the color up. On the skin you can definitely see the pink tones in this blush. In the pan I only see peach, but on my skin I see pink with a hint of peach. Beautiful texture these blushes have, just a really beautiful sheen on the skin, easy to blend.

Oh booo... I ended up buying MM and IF (along with Whisper of Gilt and Rich Core) on Sunday night but I won't be getting my package until Tuesday next week!

Did you pre-order at Nordies? You can always order it online and choose store pickup. I did that yesterday morning and was able to pick it up after work

I'm hoping I can add MM to one of my pre-orders. I really want to snag a BU! It's truly a unique orange. Most of the oranges are very red based but MM has a slightly pinker corally tone in it and that's what made me jump on its bandwagon.

Did you try MM yet - would love to hear what you think of it on :)

I just got Modern Mandarin. It is perfection! It's not a pale pinky/coral or a reddish/coral. It's just a straight up peachy coral and it's so pigmented. It's gonna work on everyone, but especially on brown girls like me. That is the only thing I wanted from this collection, so I'm done.

Yes I did pre-order. The in-store pick-up option is no longer available on the website for any of the blushes. I'm going to call one of my local counters this evening to see if they can add it to my pre-order list. If not, I have one so that should suffice :)

No worries, especially blending will bring out the sheen more, so you don't have anything to lose.

question! I am going to take advantage of the 2 day ship code FILM, and order a new blush pro palette. I only have five blushes to depot, and my OCD will not be happy with one empty hole in my palette. Help me choose one more blush to add to my palette, permanent included. (perm blushes I already have are: Fleur Power, Springsheen, Breezy, Dollymix. All my other mac blushes are mineralized which I dont depot. For reference I am NC20 but very neutral. My picture is in my icon.

My current blushes for my 6 pan palette..

Pink Cult, Lovecloud, Full of Joy, Modern Mandarin, Immortal Flower

I was thinking of adding either, Melba, Blushbaby, Mocha, or Pink Tea. Also up for other suggestions! (Peony Petal is out because I already have Nars Gaiety and its too similar) What do you guys think?

I've only bought Modern Mandarin and Full of Joy, and I think I am good with those. I really do have a ton of blushes, but those two will be quite unique. I have nothing like them. I have been looking at swatches online a whole bunch, and the more I look the more I think I am good with those 2.

Now watch me dig into my stash for something and find dupes LOL!!

I should be sleeping, but instead here's my take on trying them all on today, and bringing a bag full of other blushes with me to compare.

FoJ: I wanted to like this, but honestly, Sakura MB looks almost the same on me, but nicer than FoJ - better texture, richer color. I actually skipped it.

Lovecloud: OK, this one looks almost exactly like Giggly MB. However, unlike FoJ, it's got a nicer texture and is much more buildable. Even though I have plenty of Giggly, I got this one, since if anything, I really don't like to take MBs around with me on the go, for fear I'll drop and break them. Lovecloud can come travel around in my purse just fine.

Immortal Flower: Another one that is VERY close to another blush - in this case, Mighty Aphrodite (the light half). IF is just a bit richer and more glowing of a color, plus it's so buildable and fuses so nicely with your skin. It's also a tiny touch less pink than MA, making it a bit more all year round, in my opinion. 'Had to get it.

Pink Tea: Not my cup of tea, to be honest. Applied sheerly, you could hardly see it, but then building it up turned it into a sort of average pink color that wasn't very special. My Subtle Breeze will do the same work, but better. Didn't get.

Peony Flower: So beautiful! Wasn't expecting to love this as much as I did. Perfect texture for a bright pink like this - goes on with total ease of application. MUCH nicer than FoJ, while still staying in the same cool family. Bought!

Modern Mandarin: Yep, most unique color of the collection. Looks divine on NC15. It's very similar to Marine Life, except it's softer and much easier to apply without going overboard. In fact, using MM along the cheekbone and then accentuating and intensifying the apples with a dab of Marine Life created a stunning effect - I'll be wearing the #$@#$$ out of this blush.

If you have to get only one, I'd say Modern Mandarin or Lovecloud, since they're both very versatile, can look soft and subtle or bright and cheerful or swanky nighttime, depending on how you apply it. Lovecloud's maybe a touch more springy, while MM is a little more of a year-round color. IF is the very close runner up and is very special, but will be more of a hassle to build up properly on darker skin tones.

Oh, one last thing! The new Skin Smoother....if you put some of any of these blushes on a 130, then dab it into the skin smoother and then apply, you get a ridiculously fabulous texture and color payoff similar to the Cremeblend blushes. It transforms these blushes into yet another great look, as if they needed even more versatility.
I thought the same about Pink Tea. I was going to try it on skin but I figured I could probably get the same effect with Subtle Breeze. Its my go to light pink blush.

I'm definitely going to try the MM/ML combo and the blush skin smoother combo.

Melba will be too tame next to IF and MM. Pink Tea looks quite a bit like Pink Cult. I would vote for Mocha first (it is different than the rest of the palette) and Blushbaby second. I did not love Melba, it was chalky on me.

I just looked up the blush pan choices and there are so many old favorites there. Maybe I should get a 6 pan too. I love Sunbasque, Style, Peaches, Gingerly and many more.
