Chanel Summer 2012

Thanks, katred, shadow and jmarie. My foot is hurting a little less now. I will be careful not to injure it further.

Yes rose beige is the lighter one. I automatically gravitate towards the lighter bronzers first b/c my skin tone. I was really surprised how the rose beige did not show up at all on my skin, even after layering it on my hand multiple times. Maybe it was an effect of store lighting? I don't think that it is meant to be marketed as a highlighter and just think that the sales woman was trying to sell me another product.

All three np's were just too pretty in the bottle, and they were very difficult to leave behind. I will have to go to my local beauty supply to find OPI dupes for these colors. Otherwise I may make the mistake and buy another Chanel polish that wears for 2 days max.

I will have to dig out Taupe - Delicat & compare today. I plan on using the duo and bronzer both today. Going to my oldest son's school carnival.

Hope that your foot feels better soon!

ETA: Just FYI the bronzer was $60. In total all four products came to just under $180 (with CA tax).

I will have to compare today and get back to you. Maybe DH can help me post a swatch comparison photo? I will try to sweet talk him - LOL

Delight looks amazing in the bottle and probably amazing when first applied. It was my favorite out of the three polishes. I am already starting to have a lemming for it, so I need to find an OPI dupe stat!

Thanks Haven! I don't know any of the names in this collection. I need one of those sneak peek charts like Karla used to post. How would you compare En Vogue to Flirt? Do we need both?

Edit:

Here are the names if anyone else needs them too:

And more pics. Maybe we've seen them but i don't remember. So Delight is bronze?

This one includes one of those collection charts. Yay!

Thanks for your review. Delight reminds me of Delice, is Delight very sheer?

So here are some photos of my recent Chanel purhcases and proof that I have no willpower. DH asked me to exchange a pair of pants for him today, and I happened to walk by the Chanel counter again...

I apologize for the quality of the pics, but I am still new to this.

Purchased:

Imprevu (not summer but DC'd)
Sable Rose bronzer
Sable Emouvant Duo
Peche Cuivre
Prune Intense
Calypso
En Vogue
Delight np

From L to R: Peche Cuivre, Prune Intense, PC over PI, & Duo. I thought that I had Taupe Delicat, but I can't find it. So either I dreamt that I bought it or I lost it.

L to R: Flirt, Rebelle, En Vogue & Calypso

L to R: Calypso, En Vogue, Flirt, & Rebelle. In person I see a difference between Flirt & En Vogue, but I can't capture it in photos. They are pretty close in color when applied on the hand, but Flirt appears much lighter when on the lips.

I am trying to figure out how to make the pics bigger. If I do, then I will post them again.

Haven -- so did Sable Rose bronzer (the darker one) show up nicely on your skin? I am about the same as you -- maybe a bit darker. Looks like you had quite the shopping adventure! Thanks for your pics and descriptions :)

Gail -- thanks for all of the links. I was feeling a bit lost with all of the names -- love that chart!

Sable Rose shows up beautifully. I love it.

I caved and bought delight. I know that I will have a love hate relationship with it b/c of the wear issues, but I fell in love with the color.

When I try to resize the pics, the image quality decreases. I don't know what I am doing wrong, so I will just leave them small.

The pictures are great Haven. Thanks so much for taking & posting them. How did you like the duo when you wore it today? It looks really pretty .

winthrop - Thanks for finding the chart! I was lost with the names too lol.

Haven - Thanks for the wonderful pics and swatches! Hope you like Delight! Is the model wearing Delight or Island in the promo pic? I will try the bronzers at the counter before deciding which I want, I certainly don't want a highlighter since I already have lots of them. I know, the SA said that to get you to buy both powders. ;)

i really like the whole look in this promo image
I love it too. Do we have her makeup breakdown? I want the bathing suit!

Oh dear, maybe the darker bronzer would be too light on me then. I will also swatch on the counter before buying :).

I'm intrigued by Island n/p. Probably I'm a minority here, but I love Chanel n/p. True, it doesn't stay that long, but it also didn't stain my fingers. Plus the colors I have are super gorgeous :D

This model is gorgeous. But my self esteem plummets every time I see a gorgeous picture of her LOL!

I finally made it to my MAC counter to tide me over till the Chanel summer stuff comes out. I got Lovecloud, which is gorgeous

. I think I will get the Peony Petal (hot pink) or whatever that one is called! I have been so busy, I haven't been keeping up with all of the collections. We close on our house May 25 and I have to pack up the whole house

^^Yes she is gorgeous, probably young enough to be my daughter though.

I hate all the packing. Thank goodness we haven't moved often. But on the bright side you don't have to worry about every speck of dust for people walking through your entire house at a moments notice.

I haven't been at the MAC store or a counter in a while. I need to check out the blushes. They sound really pretty.

I've been checking out new products in other brands. I just ordered this a couple of says ago and thinking about the brush also.

Michelle - You are gorgeous in your own way. The models are very young and blessed with good genes. Enjoy your new blush! I saw the mac blush collection and had fun swatching them, and Lovecloud was my favourite too. Good luck packing your house!

shadow - Yeah these models are very young, I guess that is the way the industry is. I like looking at fresh, new faces every few seasons, and once in a while there are one or two girls that I like a lot and become my favourites, like Jac here. We have seen her for chanel for a few seasons now, I wonder if chanel will be changing the face soon. Speaking of Guerlain, they are using Natalia for several years, and while I like her, it is getting quite boring and uninspiring.

cute - I love the finish of chanel np - hard, smooth and shiny without any top coat. And the colours are always stylish but sophisticated. I guess I have a love-hate relationship with it. I have been very impressed by Dior np lately too, and the brush is perfect for my nails, but I haven't purchased any yet which is good, because I don't need another expensive np addiction.

Michelle - I think you're very pretty too... and don't forget that the models got perfect MU artist to apply the product + Photoshop :D. Good luck with packing! And unpacking, later on :D.

shadowaddict - I love the look of guerlain pucci collection, sadly I think they are out of my comfort purchase range at the moment... I'll just look at the pictures and do a happysigh :)

MissQQ - yes, exactly! Luckily I don't buy much np. Actually I only have two Chanels from the fall collection. They are my treasures :D.

Shadowaddict -- yes, it is such a relief to not have perfect strangers walking through my house any more. And worrying about the house being in "showing" condition every second. I think I was driving my family a bit crazy :)
Let me know how you like the Guerlain meteorites. I am so tempted by them! The container and the pearls look gorgeous.
The MAC blushes were really pretty -- some of the best I've seen them come out with in a while.

MissQQ -- the MUA who I was talking to said Lovecloud was her favorite also. I had them put it aside for me before I came in to buy it. I'm glad I did, because it completely sold out. I am still thinking about the Peony one (I have so many pink blushes!)
I just need to get more boxes, and then I will be packing away!

Astrid -- Thanks -- the packing and unpacking is kind of a pain. But it will be worth it in the end! And it really gives me the chance to go through everything we don't need anymore and toss it or donate it. I love getting organized :)

If the lighter bronzer is a highlighter on NW22'ish skin, it's definitely a skip for me. I will just go with the darker one. That's the one I like most from the promo pics anyway.

you're not alone, Chanel n/p work fine on me AND they last long. I don't use base of top coat and they only start chipping after 7 days which is pretty good. I'm hoping to get all 3 n/p's from the summer collection.

Hi all! I'm new to Spektra but have been following the Chanel threads for quite some time :) I am so excited for this collection, mostly because of the shimmering beiges and bronzes. The corals look pretty but might be too orange for me; I'll have to see them in person. I keep trolling chanel.com and the department store websites to see if it has popped up yet ... I just found most of the items (not the bronzers) online at nordstrom.com with a ship date of 4/27. I hope it's in stores sooner than that!

^^ Welcome!! You may find that the corals apply lighter than they look in the packaging. They are usually wearable (especially the glossimers). I am excited for this collection to come out also :)
