I tried the VA compact and it was ok on me and wasn't too yellow because I'm quite yellow, I guess. I still have an unopened sample, I need to try it again before buying the actual compact! Michelle - Very excited for you on building a new house! I second winthrop's question, will it be a new location? Sounds like you are having a fantastic time this week! elegant - I love the Hydramax line, all of it. I switch around my moisturizers but Hydramax is my staple. Hope your skin likes the new serum! The gifts for Easter sounds wonderful! Bis - happy birthday!! Hope you have lots of fun!

Gail -- we are staying in the same general area. No fabulous shopping, BOO! However my SIL in UT said a fabulous high end shopping center called City Creek Shopping Center (outdoor) will be making a stop when I visit them this summer! It is supposed to be even nicer than Fashion Island in SoCal -- woohoo!

Elegant -- you always do the cutest things for the kids. I love Holidays! I got the girls all new Easter outfits and some fun things for their basket.
Good to know about the new compact. Pass!

MissQQ -- sad we're not moving to some exotic fabulous place :) But I do love the new house we will be building -- tons of classic white moulding and craftsmanship. I can't wait to pick out paint and all of the flooring and countertops. So fun.
I did treat myself to a cute new pair of bright coral capris! Now I need Malice blush to go with my coral colors :)

I third that on the new VA!

It might help if they made a lighter BR shade but it also makes my skin look horribly dry so I guess I don't care...

I was thinking to get that one for next fall/winter but after reading your comments, I'll have to ask in my counter for a sample or a make over before purchasing. Did you try a primer underneath? I have been given a GWP Hourglass veil mineral primer and holy cow! That stuff is amazing. It does not completely eliminate the uncomfortable shines after too many hours (10-12 hours) but it does perform great in the medium time range (7-8).

Oh Michelle, happy birthday one more time! And congratulations on the new house! Even if you have to wait a bit to enjoy it, imagine how fun it will be to decorate it afterwards!

Isn't April a great month for birthdays? Mine is in 10 days and I have already bought a set of presents for myself (I always do the same, I am a weirdo
girlhaha.gif
). They are mainly skincare for over 30 / first fine expression lines / bla bla, and I am planning on going to MAC and maybe grab a couple of the Tres Cheek blushes. I was thinking in MM and IF, but I have read that IF may be too sheer? I am in between NW20 and NW25, so I guess maybe I can pull it out.

I am on a short Easter break from work so I have a bit more time to spend in Specktra, but on Monday I'll be back full time on the thesis. I don't know if I have gathered enough strength for that ... hehe.

Thanks Almus! We are excited about a new house. The good thing is that my parents are living in a different state right now, but they have a home very close to where we live. So we can move in their house while we're waiting for ours to be built. Still a pain, but we can save $ for our house that way.
I love that you bought yourself presents! I always pick mine out and email the links of what I want to my hubby LOL What fun plans will you have??

We are just about the same skintone. I haven't looked at the new blushes, but my sisters and I are going to the MAC counter next Friday. Hopefully they aren't all sold out! It bugs when things sell out so fast -- if I miss it, oh well :) You'll have to let me know which ones you like.

Almus, I don't think even a primer could help that foundation. Honestly, for me it has to be one of the worse foundations I have ever tried. You should get at least 1 or 2 of the new MAC blushes they are wonderful!!! Funny - you bought presents for yourself
girlhaha.gif
we all do that.

winthrop - yep, there wasn't anything in a lighter shade in the br range. But yeah, it wouldn't matter if there was now.

missqq - I totally love love the hydramax line too. The smell of the new serum is wonderful too. Almost the same as the rest but maybe slightly different & lighter.

Michelle - I love doing any kind of gift sending to the kids. It was so funny to find a bunny filled with catnip & a bell for their cat
greengrin.gif
The dog got a long unstuffed bunny with squeakers. Crate & Barrel has these lovely citrus yellow/green/orange kitchen towels, then they had a set of three citrus felt bunnies that were like gift tags or just to sit on the table - so darn cute. I loved my citrus theme this year. I'm sure your girls looked absolutely adorable!

Happy Birthday Bis!

Oh, I also just got the new Bobbi Brown long wear eye pencil in Mahogany which is supposed to match the Espresso gel liner. It is a tad darker/blacker than the Espresso gel imo. Very nice color. I will try it on my eyes today to test the wear., but on my hand it really stayed. In fact, I had a really hard time getting it off. its extremely creamy & smooth in application.

Well, just after leaving Specktra to go shopping at MAC, I received an email from Illamasqua: some powder blushes are 50% off to celebrate Easter! So, who am I to not celebrate Easter with the guys and gals at Illamasqua??
girlhaha.gif
Now Lover and Tremble are coming home, and I am thinking of not going to MAC and help my poor wallet to recover for the assault: summer collections from both Chanel and NARS.
Anyway, I am crossing my fingers so you still find some of those blushes available Michelle. It seems it's been insane again with this MAC collection.
Thank you so much elegant

I'll run away from that foundation. Thankfully I have a plan B: Ever matte foundation from Clarins. And a plan C: Hourglass Immaculate foundation (although I cannot try this one in store).

Elegant -- love that you include the pets, too. Love that you do a theme, too! My kinda girl :) You are such a kind and thoughtful person! I'm sure your son and DIL appreciate you so much!
I really want to try out that new BB Liner pencil. I have the hardest time getting pencil liners to stay put!

Well for now, the pets are our grandbabies
lol.gif
We did facetime with them the other day so we could watch them do their outdoor gardening

& watch the dog run around in the back yard. Awesome! They love everything we do for them.

I didn't read any reviews on the pencils yet. Usually the pencils stay on me, but we'll see. I really love how creamy smooth it goes on.

Michelle, you would love the colors of the new MAC blushes! The texture is AMAZING!

One more time then, Happy Birthday Michelle and Bis

Michelle, building a new home is so exciting, you get to pick the layout of your house :). And congrats on the offer!! Also, it's nice you could live at your parents'... renting out while waiting for your house to finish would mean less money for MU :p

Elegant, the basket sounds so cute! I Especially the bunny toys for the dog & cat :D

I am curious with the Hydra line now... although currently my skin behaves quite well... I'm always jinxed when I tried changing something that currently works :p

Almus, I do that too!! Picking my own birthday present. I've been doing that for almost as long as I can remember. Hehe, somehow I did that as an excuse to get lots of nice stuff and makeup (like we all need one
girlhaha.gif
). Good luck with your thesis!!!

Everyone, Happy easter and I hope you all enjoy your nice long weekend!

Happy Easter everyone and Happy (belated) Birthday(s) to Michelle and Bis!!

I haven't seen the summer collection around yet, although the new foundation, the Jeans collection and the new lippies have shown up in some locations. No sign of the blushes, though. I truly don't understand Chanel's Canadian strategy, but I figure I'll just keep an eye out.

I caught whim of new illusion d'ombres: A gold one and a peachy pink one. It seems that the ones we saw prior in the couture show is not going to come to canada (the blue/light blue :(). They are anticipating them early may according to my Bay SA.

Elegant -- I love using Facetime. I just got an iphone a few weeks ago. I didn't know what the big deal was until I got one. Now I am addicted:) I will definitely check out those MAC blushes. My sister just gave me cash for my birthday. She said she knew I just wanted makeup and she didn't know how to pick it out for me LOL

Astrid -- love the new profile pic! Va Va Voom! Ya, we were very surprised that we got an offer after just a little over 2 weeks on the market. It was a pain to make sure the house looked absolutely perfect every day for showings. But so excited to meet with the builder and start picking everything out!

Bis -- thank you for the sweet message and so glad you had a lovely day trip to Paris! So exciting and fun!!

Katred -- thanks for the birthday wishes! Can't wait to see all of the new collections. Why doesn't Chanel release them to all countries at the same time?? It is a mystery.

Hey everyone, long time no see. I'm still loving my Chanel of course, picked up the Hydra Beauty Serum recently and I'm in love with it. Makes my skin feel hydrated and alive, if that makes any sense.

I cannot wait for Chanel summer! I've been wearing last summers bronzers and can't wait to try the new ones. And it looks like I need Malice JC? LOL <3

Hope all of you lovelies are doing well!

Hi Rach! Thats how I feel about the new serum too!

Well I wore the BB gel liner pencil for about 6 hours yesterday & would give it an A- only because the outer corners (like where you would wing it out) on the upper line faded just a bit. The rest of the lining stayed put & the color which I love remained true. I still love the gel pot liner better for over-all staying power, but the pencil will be great too.

I might have to try out this magical serum. I got some samples from my Armani counter of their new skin line which I've been loving the last few days. Makes my skin feel absolutely perfect, all the time.

How desperate am I for the Chanel Summer collection? I did my eye makeup today trying to pick shades that I thought might look like the Sable Emouvant duo. I think it is different enough from anything I have already to warrant a purchase. Plus I love the look of Island polish- all the polishes, really- and Calypso glossimer. Although the collection is very warm, which I don't normally go for, I seem to be really worked up for it.

On a similarly "summery" vibe, I was at one of my Chanel counters the other day and I "met" Enthusiast Rouge Allure. I know that this isn't new (although I'm not sure when it came out), but I have absolutely no idea how I missed it all this time. For some reason, I've been in the mood for a nice, bright red-coral lately, sort of the colour of the dress Michelle Williams had on at the oscars. Everything I found was just a little too red or a little too orange, but suddenly, there was Enthusiast and it's PERFECT. I was in a hurry and the counter was busy, but I'm going back to get it for certain. I think it'll be a perfect bright summer colour!

It's the same over here, we don't have the summer collection yet. I saw the Jeans nail polishes but the liners and illusion d'ombres were not present. The coral Michelle Williams dress is perfect, I love it. I tried on Enthusiast when it was launched and felt it was too orange on me. My tastes have changed, so perhaps I should re-examine it.

I saw the new mac blushes, pretty but I have no problems passing. I recently have a few new items to play with - YSL, Guerlain, Laura Mercier and some used items which I swap with my friend so we can try new things and swap back after a while.

Michelle - Thanks! I thought I'd try a new look with red lips
girlhaha.gif

Elegant - Thanks for the gel review :). Have you tried them on the lower waterline? I'd love to have something there without smudging.. On the upper lash line, I have no big problem, but on the lower line everything smudges, except perhaps MAC's GPS.

Bis - You think the blush won't even get to Europe? Argh, surely hope not!

MissQQ - I like the idea of swapping with a friend. I wish I had someone I could do it with! The only close person I know who is a MU addict is my mother in law... but she lives too far away from here :p

^^ I suspect the blush isn't coming to Asia, but I can hope. I guess that is the good thing about living in a tiny country, the longest it takes to travel somewhere is probably 3 hours and I can go to major shopping malls in town within half an hour from my house.
