MAC Hey, Sailor! (Summer 2012) Discussion

I suspected that Crew wasn't an overspray when I swirled my finger over it very heavily for swatching and it looked the same afterwards! It was a really beautiful colour, and I may or may not have ordered it, Feeling Fresh, Emerald Sea and Old Gold. Oops.

@ xasperadastra: I don't have either Caqui or WW, but Riviera is a very 'orange' orange. There's no red in it.

Thanks a lot!! I hope it wasn't too red (I have Caqui which is a red orange e Wonder Woman which is ared but should have the same shimmer of Riviera Life)..I asked because on Mackarrie blog it looks redder..

anyway.. Hunger games rocks!! I've seen the movie the first of may and now I want to read the books ^^

Re Riviera - it's maybe best to compare it to Morange. I compared it to Morange l/g instore and the two glosses were nearly identical. HTH!

Barefoot is really lovely - it's a veluxe pearl so it's so soft and pigmented!
And please let me know how you like Soft Sand as I'm still considering it

Oh I will have to get barefoot for sure now! I think Im gonna have a sleepless night till i get it lol!

Soft sand is really really nice, it's definitely the colour of sand and doesn't look muddy on the skin or orange, I wanted something different to refined golden and it certainly is impressive. Whats your skin tone? I'd even recommend Nude on Board it's yellow based and can be built up so if your below an NC30 skintone its perfect!

I'm NW10-15ish and I already have Nude On Board (super pretty!). I'll try to stop myself from going back for thirds... I ended up with 3 e/s, 2 blushes, 1 bronzer, Crew, 2 e/l, 1 pigment and the brush.
I need to stop!

HhHhAAAAA, you got more than I did and I thought I was bad lol! If you really like Nude on Baord you will love Soft Sand so grab that too cos at the end of the day it's limited edition and the packaging is gorgeous!!!!! Im going to California on the 1st of June so the collection will have been out just over a week in the US so I might grab refined golden bronzer for the sake of the packaging lol - It's going to need replacing soon as I've hit pan now! Barefoot I'm gonna grab tomorrow or monday now! But I'm going on a MAC ban after that seriously!

I adore the packaging! It's just so shiny and pretty (I'm aware I sound like a magpie haha)
I don't want anything until Heavenly Creature now, but that's gonna be a painful one...

I just got back from amsterdam. The stripes in Crew are NOT an overspray. The MA could confirm it because she asked it at her update. Also some parts of the tester were flat already and still showed the same stripes. Yeah for mac not doing overspray again!

The goodies that came home with me are:
-both blushes
-Crew
-Sun Dipped pro longwear bronzer
-Jaunty and Feeling Fresh e/s
-Emerald Sea e/p
-Shore Leave l/l
-To Catch a Sailor and Sail La Vie l/s
-Blessedly Rich and Riviera Life l/g

I also asked about the difference between the pro longwear and normal bronzers. The pro longwear bronzers have sunseed oil (i think that's what it was) and that makes them softer and easier to blend. They also last longer (like we didn't expect that). I swatched one of the normal bronzers and after that one of the pro longwear bronzers. I could definitely feel that the pro longwear one was softer and it smoothed out a lot better on my hand.

I didn't take pictures at the event, it was too crowded, but i couldn't post them anyway till sunday. I will swatch my own goodies and try to post pictures sunday afternoon. I might go to my local counter monday and swatch the other things, but i'm not sure if i have enough time monday.

How shimmery is Crew? No glitter, right?

I did some digging!

Basically, the color does not only go all the way through, it also switches colors. Under the pink stripes, you will first find orange, once the orange is gone, you will find lavender.

No glitter, but fantastic shimmer.

Not to create any hype, but IMO, Crew is a much better version of Lightscapade.

You should probably try Sun Dipped. It looks more natural than NOB as it is slightly more bronzey and red-based rather than yellow.
