The lippies are amazing! Salute is beautiful when applied in a think layer. It's amplified, so no need to cake it on or it will just look wrong. But spread out in a thin layer, it's lovely. I also adore To Catch a Sailor. It's a great summer shade that looks stunning with a sun-kissed look. :tip:
Your swatches are awesome, Mac Guy! I wonder will TCAS look pretty on NC45-50 skin?

I just came back from Amsterdam. Since there is no discount here in The Netherlands I decided to pick up only a few thing from HS.
Today I got (apart from brush cleansers, removers etc):

Red Racer l/s
TCAS l/s
Nude on Board Bronzer
167 SH
Feeling Fresh e/s
Impassioned l/g
Rebel l/g
Saint Germain l/g
Spice l/s (thanks to BEE)
Russian Red nailpolish
Rebel nailpolish

I also received Butterfly dream plushglass to top off Heroine (gorgeous) and a backup of Modern Mandarin blush. I also checked if I could find a backup for Love Cloud blush but no such luck.

Monday I will receive my HS / Reel Sexy order.
I will get
Crew
Fleet Fast
Launch Away
Sail la Vie

and several Reel Sexy items.

I am not done with the collection either. Monday or Tuesday I will place a second order. I still want
Soft sand
Sun dipped
Riviera Life
Send me Sailing
Throw me a line (maybe)
Handforged
Emerald sea
Blue stripe (maybe, already getting Hyacinth from RS)
Jaunty
Barefoot
Nautical Navy (maybe)
And perhaps one or both body oils.

Too bad I couldn't get the make up bags. Seems like they are not sold here, just like the UK :(

Love the packaging IRL more than I thought. The e/s packaging less, but the other stuff is gorgeous....

To the ones who baught and tested the 167 brush: What do you think about it? For what would you use it for?

I'm thinking about getting a separate brush for applying bronzer and I'm not sure whether to get this one or maybe the bobbi brown bronzer brush. What do you guys think?

I've been using it for bronzer and it's great for lightweight application of any sort of face powder

Ok ladies if your confused over the bronzers I've worked them out lol!

I am a nc42 skin tone golden/olive/tan complexion the best bronzers from the collection for this kind of skin tone is: Refined Golden, Soft Sand and Sun Dipped

For other skin tones Nude on Board is great it you want an obvious bronzed/tanned on some it may blend nicely on others like myself it started to appear muddy. Soft Sand is really really nice and will suit any one, you can build it up however you want it it will look great infact I think it's the perfect bronzer. Sun Dipped is in my opinion fool proof for any skin tone, you can use it lightly or heavy and you wont be disappointed - MAC Guy thanks for the recommendation of warm bronzer it is natural and gorgeous!

Hope this helps! I exchanged Nude on Board, I tried it but I really didn't like it! MAC Guy sorry for the exchanges - it wasn't my fault! The lovely SA at my MAC counter put the items aside but accidentally switched over Sun Dipped with Nude on Board, I came home to find it wasn't Sun Dipped so I tried to make it work for me but I wasn't happy with it :( Now I am though!

But in all other cases I always try before I buy and make sure Im sure!!

Oh ladies you must get Barefoot eyeshadow - Aaaaaaammmmmmazzzzzinnnngggg!!

The 167 is great for bronzer or all-over application of highlighter powders. It's very soft, so if you have sensitive skin that tends to get red upon brush application, the 167 is a good investment. I don't know the BB one, but maybe somebody who has it can shed light on it.

I had to return a lipstick once because my mother and hubby gave me the same shade --- I told the SA I hadn't even opened it. I read before (I think it was MAC-Guy) that they destroy returned product. Is that the case for unused/untested product?
There is no safe way for a store to tell if you have used the product or not, so all returned items will be destroyed. Best advice is probably to sell it on Specktra or other sites.

I thought all returned items were going to be destroyed/thrown out too, but then I was reading on another forum that returned and opened items (as well as unopened items) are sold at Estee Lauder/MAC warehouse sales, at a discounted price.

Does anyone know how Jaunty compares to MAC Warming Trend? It is one of my favorite eyeshadows of all time. I would get 10 million backups if they were similar to one another.

Everything stays spot-on. I hardly ever change lists. It's too expensive and too much hassle to switch things around. Changing list inevitably leads to higher spending (usually!). LOL

I know what I like and what suits me and I have enough tools to make any product work. Just trust yourself and use common sense when buying make up and you won't be disappointed.

It makes me sad to think how much make up is returned every day because of bad and/or hasty decisions. In this age and day, where we have all the information just a mouse-click away, it's really easy to do get enough information to make an informed decision before pressing "submit." The high number of returns is largely responsible for MAC's steady price increase. This is really frustrating, as it also means that those who hardly ever return a product have to suffer. I recently saw a women returning the whole ED collection (including her BU's).

Grrrr... Oh well, I better step of my

i absolutely agree with you. i find it extremely wasteful to return cosmetics just because one doesn't like the colour, texture etc.... i know that these companies include the cost incurred to them by returns in the prices they charge, but at the end of the day, this stuff ends up in a landfill. i usually either hang on to products and try to find a way that works for me, or pass them along to friends etc.. i think they will work for...

So I just checked out the collection this morning. I got red racer and seaside body oil. My thoughts... Red racer is the perfect bright retro inspired red IMO. Highlight of the collection for me and nothing like any other shade I have. Mac redd is darker. New temptation sheen supreme is sheerer. I would think runway red is deeper- I will check when I get home. Seaside body oil is lovely for giving a moisturised glow to the skin. Great pale skin alternative to fake tan. Doesn't really impart colour, just a nice sexy glow Things I skipped and why... Shore leave liner- beautiful liner but I wanted something to match viva glam nickie and sl runs too coral/orange Crew powder- since the stripes are raised, when I swatched the pan the colour that was most prodominant was the pink making it more of a blusher than highlighter on my nw10 skin Hope that helps xx
What about In anticipation or whatever that bubble gum pink pro longwear lip liner in the perm line? I recently ordered that. I think I might get the crew highlighter now that it is confirmed to be not an overspray :3 I initally wanted to skip this collection, but it kind of grew on me. Can anyone tell me if the make up bag is flat with not much thickness? I don't know what bronzer would be good on my NC20 skin and won't make me look orange. I have refined golden fron Neo Sci-fi and I do not use it at all. Too orange :< Same with the brown middle shade in the wonder woman pink power giant compact. I also really like NYX orange soda, but it is too thin and not pigmented enough. Salute might come home with me!

I've returned products before, but I don't make a habit of it. I bought a Mineralize Skinfinish Natural pressed powder and I broke out into the kind of cystic acne I didn't even have as a teenager! That product had been recommended to me by the MUA at the counter I visit frequently and I had no reservations about exchanging it. I didn't simply change my mind; I reacted to the product. It was my one and only experience with a MSF, and I won't buy another.

I just returned the replacement today; when I took the MSF back I got swatched with a colour I expressed reservations about but allowed myself to be reassured was appropriate. I brought it home and tried to work with it, but it just isn't the right shade. I got my regular MUA today when I brought it in and she said that it's very clearly not a good match for me. I now have what I hope is the final version! Two returns out of more than 50 items in the last six months is a pretty good ratio, I think.

I have changed my mind about a couple of other items (I will no longer let anyone talk me out of my first instinct), but I've simply passed those on to my teenage daughter. Shimmery finishes look fabulous and age appropriate on her; on me, not so much.

With the cost of the products, I want to be able to use them. If the product causes an allergic reaction or the MUA doesn't match well, I don't see a reason to feel bad about returning it. If I just decide that Grand Galaxy is a little too frosty and to stick to my Fig 1, my kid is the lucky beneficiary. :)
