I went to Ulta last Thursday and finally grabbed Crystal Soda. And yeeeessss I love it! It does give shimmer and the perfect finishing touch without altering the original lipstick shade. Kind of like Fix + for lips...

I'm so jealous. I stopped by my Ulta last week too, but mine doesn't carry Crystal Soda.

From the Dynamic Duos I only got number 3 which is very pretty. I thought one specktrette said that the corally shade in duo 1 looks like expensive pink. I paired expensive pink with shock-a-holic today. Not bad at all :)

Hey guys if you're looking for a lipgloss to wear with Heroine then check you stash for Revenge is Sweet lipglass from Venomous Villains. Its perfect. I dont have a pic of me wearing them together but here is a photo of a swatch of the lipglass by itself. This used to me my fav purple lip combo but now i swap out Violetta for Heroine!

From left to right: nyx purple rain l/l, Mac Violetta l/s, mac Revenge is Sweet l/g
I was going to try Narcissus layered over Heroine then the purple plush from Vera (I think its called Butterfly Party or Butterfly Garden). But, I hesitate to layer over mattes, it ruins the lovely finish for me. II will probably try it anyway. I don't have Revenge is Sweet, but I could try Narcissus, I bet they're close.

I do like a cremesheen glass over these new mattes sometimes for a change, but I think the best result comes when you use a color that will add more depth to the color. Using Revenge is Sweet is a good one, since it falls in this category. A gloss that's paler and/or less bright as the lipstick won't be as nice as one that's more vibrant and jewel-toned than the lipstick. It gives a fuller, richer look. For example, Narcissus and Cinestyle are a bit meh on top of Heroine - just makes the color and texture more mainstream, for my taste, without adding extra oomph.

Color Saturation looks amazing over Heroine (I'm sure it was designed for that). Also All My Purple Life is pretty sweet, but I really prefer the c/s/g texture over lipsticks. Star Quality is pretty wild over it too. Butterfly Dream is sort of ok, if you just use a touch in the center of the lower lip, but overall, it takes away from the stylish texture. I adore Butterfly Dream just worn by itself - it's my most used gloss this spring - and it also looks really lovely over Pink Popcorn, which can handle a much wider variety of glosses on top, since it's a bit glossy itself and also a softer color for a base. It just looked cheap over Heroine, though, for my taste.

If Heroine is looking a little harsh against lighter skin, the best way to deal with it is to use some bronzer, a coppery highlight like Glorify, or a good coating of a strong blush like Early Morning, Fresh Honey, Vintage Plum, etc. - something to give a more warmth and color. Equilibrium works too, for a subtle effect, since it's so brown. Also, making sure your skin isn't too powdery and matte makes a big difference too.

I have yet to play with Heroine and I have to admit I am slightly worried to. I'm roughly NC15, but I can't use any type of bronzer. Every single thing I've ever tried has turned me orange. I've never heard of EM, FH or VP though so don't have those or Equilibrium... but I'm curious as to what eye combos people are using with it? I don't have a clue, should I just do neutrals?

I just ordered Reel Sexy and Heroine lipsticks on douglas. I had a giftcard worth €5 and a coupon code for mothersday also worth €5, so the lippies were €26 instead of €36

I think the coupon code is for more than one use so any dutchies let me know if you wanna order and i can pm you the code. You have to spend at least €30, but that's only 2 items or so. I won't be online for long anymore, but if i see some pm's or replies in this thread tomorrow i will send the code.

I'm NC15 too. Heroine is fine on me as is, but it looks more casual when I have more of a sun-kissed look. Those blushes all have warm, brownish undertones; anything brick or plum would work great.

I've been using it with taupes, purples, mustard and orangey colors on the eyes, or just blue, purple or black winged liner. I always get compliments - it's a beautiful lipstick.

Awesome, thank you! Do you think Azalea Blossom Ombre would work? I think it's the only blush colour close to plum I own.. haha.. and nothing brick. (Apparently I need more blushes!)

Even better - I'll wear it with some neutrals tomorrow and see how it goes! Can't wait to try it!

You certainly could use it, though I think something warmer would look more modern. If you're NC15, it ought to look good no matter what blush you're using - I'd say apply the lipstick first - maybe you won't even need any blush at all, if it's not something you wear often anyways.

Thanks. I'll take a look and see what I have that's warmer but definitely apply the lipstick first to see if it's necessary. :)
