did you apply the seaside oil to your face too, or just body? it looks so pretty in the swatches!

i love your new profile pic btw! are you wearing hey sailor products in the look?
no i haven't applied it to my face - just body. my skin on the face is sensitive and not sure if you should wear it there so i'll give it a miss :) and thank you - i'm not wearing any hey sailor stuff in the pic :) used some of my old favourite products today for my next tutorial :)

loving the new profile pic Lou - looking forward to the tutorial. I am surprised you didn't get rr lipstick - I think it would really suit you.

Re the oil - I only use it on my body too. Mainly on my legs......

Yea i was thinking the same thing. I might not know how it would look like once it starts to change colors as long as its not an overspray lol I do wonder how it would look like when the purple color ends up being the main middle color.
Yeah, exactly haha :). I hate oversprays, they are so misleading! And it's a shame that it makes you not really want to use the powder...at least with a special design that goes all the way through it might not look as pretty as it did to begin with but it's still special/pretty.

I think when purple is the main middle color it will not be too purple since the other 2 will be the pink and orange, so it will even out but maybe just be a bit cooler overall. Assuming that your powder fades evenly and you don't have 2 purple sections anyway haha. But still I think the pink/orange that is left over will have some effect so you won't look like a zombie at least!

I wonder if it's meant to fade like that since by the time you get there, assuming you use it daily/often it will be fall and thus time for cooler blush?? If that's the case that's pretty clever.

I wish they said something!

I posted this in a new thread but since there is a lot of posting on this thread I'll put it here, as well. Just want to wish everyone a very happy Mother's Day. There are a lot of definitions for Mother's so don't count yourself out if you didn't actually go through childbirth! Just let a woman, lady or girl (animal or human) know how much she means to you and you'll make someone's day special. All the Spectra members are special, so happy Mother's day...enjoy yourselves. :encore:

I got both crew and jaunty at the duty free shops in Toronto and must say I reslly like crew. I hope jaunty shows up on my lids otherwise it is a unique color for the Mac Es range but rather neutral and uninteresting in a swatch. I think it may completely disappear on the eye. Red racer was nice but I didn't have funds and I have so many red lipsticks that I passed. Crew reminded me a bit of love loud but peachier. FYI crew was 34$ and jaunty 19$. I am not sure if it is the price in Canada or if it is because of the slight markup in the duty free. Riviera life was nice but I couldn't fork over the cash for it. It wasn't special. I was floored by lunar from extra dimensions but I passed because I never do bluesmokey eyes and I have a million blue eyeshadows for that purpose. Sold out odors were the blushes, the two neutral glosses and nautical I think

Yeah it looked very light/neutral when I swatched it, but I am one of those weirdos that loves neutral colors and gets excited when I find a new shade haha. The only thing that excites me other than neutrals is pink (shades like Da Bling). Jaunty seems like a good nude eye-brightener for me, not the most obvious/flashy color but pretty.

I know that appealing to this nest of enablers isn't the best of plans...but it's the only one I have.

That Crew highlighter is just SO pretty. I want, I want, etc. But I have warm undertones - very. And it looks so pink. I should probably just get a bronzer. I'm telling myself that the orange stripe will warm it up, but realistically it probably isn't wearable for me. I'm somewhere around a NC25-30 and am now wearing N3 Face & Body.

Someone PLEASE tell me that this item - gorgeous though it might be - just isn't for me. Next year will probably have a gorgeous warm toned pretty powder and I just need to be patient, right?

Go ahead, say it. 'Aud, this isnt' the colour for you. Really. There are gorgeous warm colours coming this fall. One of those will be perfect. Don't buy this just because it's pretty." PLEASE.

Talk me down, people!!!! Or this will happen.

wow that is an increase for the shadows...usually duty-free is cheaper...i guess perhaps that's the annual price hike?!

I am skipping all of the shadows from this one in favor of the EL Bronze Goddess eye palette for this year. The shadows in it are the cyber eye formulation and smooth as butter. Still getting both blushes, a bronzer (probably Sun Dipped), Handforged e/l and Sail La Vie l/s.

Here is a picture of the palette:

I haven't been able to find pictures that do it justice but Karen has some nice swatches. The shadows have a metallic type finish.

MAC Guy, what is the name of the bronzer that you and Liba love so much? It is from a previous collection.

Went to the counter today and got to swatch Hey, Sailor!

Not sure about Barefoot anymore, it looks very yellow on me.

Jaunty, which was off my list, is back on -- it is so basic and pretty.

Handforged and Emerald Sea are very beautiful, can't wait for these.

I was not even considering To Catch a Sailor but my SA insisted I swatch it -- fabulous, such a gorgeous colour, probably my favourtie item in the collection.

Prolongwear bronzing powder -- I am new to a bronzer so my first question was about the texture. The prolongwear was so much creamier than the regular bronzer. She suggested Nude on Board, I'm NW20, and I liked it on my hand but I will try it on in store before I buy.

When we went over to put my items aside the drawer was FULL of bronzers so no rush on those but there were only two Emerald Sea liners and I was the first to ask for one. Not sure what is going to sell out.

The oils were very lovely but I am too old for that kind of product.

Only 11 more days.

Lush Light Bronze Careblend. It was LE, but you might be lucky enough to find it in CCO's.

I'm curious: Are you wearing N3 to cancel out yellowness (as N is usually for NW complexions)?

I'm wearing N3 because the MAC MUAs can't agree on what colour foundation I should wear. I posted a thread on MAC Chat about that. I was told that I'm NC30, lighter than NC30, darker than NC 30 (NC35-40), C4 (Studio Fix - was too dark) and N3; all in the period of a few days. It's ridiculous.

I went to see my fave MUA in the standalone store near work and I asked how it could be that hard to match me. I said I was looking for a bit more coverage than my tinted moisturizer because I get redness in my cheeks. He nodded, dabbed at me with a 130 and it was gone. N3. I don't know what that equates to in the NC/NW spectrum, but it looks a lot better than the other ones I've been given. I was wearing Studio Moisture tint in medium and Blot Powder in medium but it wasn't cancelling out the redness. I asked if I shouldn't be a C and not N, but he thought this would be better.

I definitely have strong yellow undertones and not pink though. If I put my arm against my husband's or eldest daughter's they look visibly pink and I look yellow. Back when everyone was getting their seasons done, I tested as an autumn. I look good in brick reds, oranges, rusts, browns, greens, etc. I look hideous in cool colours, particularly pastels. Hence my concerns about crew.

Honestly, I have no idea what I am. I quite like the foundation though and I've been using it several days. It's the first I've used that hasn't been too dark or ashy looking. I just put in an order for the N3 over the weekend since MAC Canada has free shipping. Maybe I should have tried C3 as well. The MUA did suggest that it wasn't necessary to wear it everywhere if I prefered the tinted moisturizer; just where I wanted to tone down redness.

He also gave me a tester of the yellow Prime corrector (neutralize?) although he said that he doesn't think it's particularly effective. It doesn't seem to do much.
