MAC X Beth Ditto Discussion

That's what I'm betting my bottom dollar on! I think CYY was in a sure-fire lead since the voting opened. If they don't include it, major WTF would happen! Lots of people want that lipstick!
I hope so! I'm tempted to buy DD... but I'd prefer CYY. To wait or not to wait, that is the question :p

I ordered today but passed on Beth Mask until next week when I'm able to check it out IRL. Not really very interested though. I will also try to get one or two of the n/p's next week. The lippies Booyah! and Dear Diary are on their way however.

Powder to the People looks chalky on her arm. It looks better on her cheeks. I'm assuming she concentrated her brush on the brown shade?

Has anyone else tried it on their cheeks?

After update I played with Beth Mask. I used Painterly paint pot as a base, applied the peach color over the lid, the burgundy color in the outer v and slightly into the crease, then I used a brown shadow (I think it was Swiss Chocolate) to blend and "set" the burgundy grease paint stick with a 217 brush and it came out as a gorgeous look for nights out. I may even redo it tonight and post it so you can see that Beth Mask isn't bad. Beth Mask was the only one I actually tested.. I swatched the other three, didn't like them which is why I chose Beth Mask as my tester. She gave Magenta blush a bad rating but I showed customers that with a light hand and a 168 brush they could achieve great results. *sighs* As I always say, take reviews with a grain of salt.

Thanks Bee! That sounds like a gorgeous look. Please post pics if you can.

I agree about reviews. As always YMMV. This particular blogger has given horrible reviews to quite a few things that I find are easy to use and gorgeous while giving glowing reviews to sub par but costly products. I appreciate her swatches greatly but generally tune the reviews out now.

I did not expect these to be an amazing product, they seemed kind of gimmicky to me from the start. But I didn't think that they would be that bad. I believe that most of the times there will be a way to make a product work. Even thogh personally I'm not willing to buy products that I have to put a lot of effort in to make them work.
I disagree with her reviews frequently though, that's why I always take it with a grain of salt. But I'm still a little surised at how bad that review is.
