OMG I love it too. I'm thinking about a BU. It's strada but better texture (easier to blend cos its less pigmented) It's been my contour since i got it. I will NOT use it as an e/s. Too lazy.

I do NOT blame him. at least 2/5 lipsticks did NOT perform well.... the shadesticks suck ass...I mean...Hello? I only liked the powder. Even dear diary was not as I thought. It's cool, but CYY is much better in color. it's true though it dries less.

Wow! I am shocked that this collection has so many complaints. Glad I'm skipping it. All I have to say is MAC better not screw up the Marilyn collection. I will be so PISSED if they do.

I don't think the sticks suck. It's true that they don't work straight out of the tube, but using the right tools will make them a great product, especially as they are much easier to travel then (heavy!) p/p.

I agree with him on everything he said, especially at the end when he was talking about the focus being taken off of the permanent line because of the numerous collections that come out each month. MAC could actually stand alone and compete with their permanent line but customers like collections, which is why they keep bringing them out. I didn't (and I'm not) buying anything from this collection or the Casual Colour collection. Beth Mask along with a couple other products were gratis items.

Ooh yes, I NEVER use 2 blushes. If the blush won't look flattering ALONE, I won't buy it. And I do understand what you're saying about the "technical" aspect. I'm always technical with my makeup... Even on the days where I wear no eyeshadow, foundation, or eyeliner... just powder, filled-in eyebrows, mascara, and lipgloss.

Thanks for the link, rockin. I was waiting all weekend for Dustin's review, but this update sums up what I needed to know. This collection will be a pass for me, unless I get a chance to try out Dear Diary at Nordies.
One can make the argument that "with the right tools" or just a "little extra effort", these (gimmicky) products work really well but as someone who's currently strapped for funds (and is kinda feeling LE collection fatigue), I need to be strong and say it's not worth it for me. I've been operating on the idea that all these LE items are satisfying some sort of "need" but I'm kidding myself. They're simply wants. I have products that work perfectly fine in my collection and there's no doubt that other products will be released later on that (for me) will be worth the money, time and effort.
Oh well, more money saved for HC (although I anticipate that my haul there will HOPEFULLY be small). I also need to pick up a few permanent items before they increase prices (i'm not too late for that, am I?)

I have to be at work in another hour so I wanted to come on here and upload the look I did using Beth Mask. I used: Soft Ochre paint pot as a primer AND a base (p/p's don't crease on me), applied the peach shadow all over the lid (used no brush), the cranberry liner in the outer v and into the crease (used no brush), and Cranberry eyeshadow to "set" the liner (used a 217 brush). I also used the peach shadow, the cranberry liner and Cranberry shadow on my lower lash line as well. This look didn't take long to do. I didn't do anything special or magical... I simply used a base and a 217 brush. Again: my intent is not to sell you the product but to PROVE that these do work without putting in "extra" effort... Are these a must-have? Nope. But Beth Mask is a product that can be used for those days you don't have time to do fancy looks... My point is just take reviews with a grain of salt. Some (not all) bloggers who review products have no clue what they're doing or what they're talking about. I had zero issues with Beth Mask.

I use the 222. My point is that using a brush - your favorite eye brush - will give you much more control than applying it straight from the tube. Yes, you probably can apply it, but you still need to blend it out, otherwise it will crease as the layer straight from the tube is likely to be too thick.

Not sure what you mean... what do you use on the lips? TTP?Im using 187 3 turns clockwise and 3 counter-clockwise then same on lip and apply

OMG thank you so much for this advice! I have Girl About Town lipstick and lipglass and i want to wear it this summer but I haven't stepped out of that box and wore bright colors...but GAT was sooo pretty so i had to have it, I will try your brown liner suggestion. I have Chestnut and Just My Type. Will that work or is Cork more ideal?

Just unopened my box 45 minutes ago and took some swatch pics of Dear Diary. The first pic is under sunlight and the second is under shade. Since I do not have CYY, I swatched its near dupe from Maybelline, Fuchsia Fever.
As seen, Fuchsia Fever is a step lighter than Dear Diary and Dear Diary is a smidge lighter than Quick Sizzle. This is just my opinion, so this is FWIW, YMMV: If you have Quick Sizzle, you have a deeper fuchsia than Dear Diary. If you buy Dear Diary, buy it if you do not have such a shade and buy it for the formula. If you decide you want to skip DD, it's no biggie if you already have QS.
