So I went to the Macy's counter on Thursday. This counter didn't have everything on display and there was only one MUA working. She tried to be helpful, but she was also doing a makeover at the time and there were other customers around. I didn't take pictures because the lighting was too bad. I swatched Water and Universal Appeal. I personally didn't care for the lime green color of Water. Universal Appeal is a pretty purple and nothing at all like Earthshine's burgundy swirl. Earthshine actually looked more like a copper color next to Universal Appeal. I swatched Light Year quickly and didn't see anything on my skin. Pleasureseeker just seemed meh on me. Strictly Plutonic is pretty, but is close to Over Indulgence and is brighter.
I was surprised the most by Cusp of Dawn and Celestial Kiss. I was expecting those two to look awful on me. I'm not even sure how to describe Cusp of Dawn. It's like a sheer bronze color on my lips. It has this really pretty iridescent sheen that I wasn't expecting at all. There's this glow without being glossy. I thought Celestial Kiss would be very close to Boy Bait, but it's not. Boy Bait seems more beige, while Celestial Kiss is definitely a light peach and has more shimmer. I kept Cusp of Dawn on my lips to see it better in sunlight. It was even prettier in the light and you could see the sheen a lot more. I DIDN'T BUY ANYTHING. I wanted to go to another store on Friday that I knew would have everything on display. I also wanted more time to think about what I would purchase since I've already spent so much and I know I want other items from upcoming collections.
I make my way to the other store on Friday. As I expected, they have everything. This time I swatched Invincible Light and Aurora. Invincible Light is very pretty, but the only thing I saw on me was the sheen. The color just disappeared on my deeper skin tone. It could've work as a very pretty highlighter, but I'd rather spend the money towards NARS Albatross and Luster. A MUA did show me how to use it as a highlighter on the lips. She took a q-tip and just dabbed it on in the center of her lips. It was a very pretty effect. Aurora confused me. It's a very pretty brown on my skin. It's a few shades darker with a golden sheen. It would probably make a beautiful neutral eye look. But I swatched it a few more times and it started to look muddy.
I swatched Light Year again, and this time I got a very pretty gold sheen with no color. Again, I'd rather get NARS Albatross and Luster. Plus, I can get the exact same gold sheen effect from the gold swirls in Earthshine, Center of the Universe and Star Wonder. I reswatched Universal Apppeal to see if I still wanted to get it. I do think it's a pretty purple, but I didn't feel compelled to get. I also played with the 286 brush to test the new info I learned from Spektra members. It was interesting to see how the brush picked up and applied the colors differently than the 224. It didn't pick up as much color. I asked the MUA why would I want less color (since I tend to pack on color like crazy), and she said to make it less glittery. Lol, the light bulb turned on.
I stood around for awhile thinking about what to buy. I eventually walked out of the store with only Cusp of Dawn and Celestial Kiss. But now I'm strongly considering BUs of Cusp of Dawn and Celestial Kiss, and I'm still thinking about Aurora and the 286 brush. So I still don't know if I'm done or not!
Oh yeah, and I still have to take pics of the MES from my 2nd order that was delivered earlier this week. I got Earthly, Sky, Bright Moon, Magnetic Attraction and Neo Nebula.

The nice lady and the MUA enabled me on Aurora. I really didn't expect to like that colour so much. I'm so happy with my goodies, but I kinda want to get more
