I keep seeing comments about people being too old for certain makeup......what age is suppose to be to old for frost/metallics/etc?

i'm eyeing the taupe, coral and black...mostly taupe and black though, cuz realistically i prob won't wear the coral that much...
i hope to check them out this weekend!

perhaps they chose that container for the screw top and lightness...it would seal well and not be crazy heavy like the glass pots...
or it could have something to do with the manufacture.

Who knows...it's silly. I'll still be wearing shimmery stuff when I'm 60. I don't like matte eyeshadows really, or lipsticks for that matter.

I agree about never leaving the shimma. I love some shimmer and even some sparkle and hate matte lips on me. Till the day I croak! I might be wrinkly and flaunting it but I will go out a shinin.

I picked up two EC shadows at the Bay on Tuesday but they didn't have the purple.

I called another Bay store near me and she said they weren't out until August 2. I told her I thought it was July (not mentioning that I had already bought some) and she said it was but there were some back orders --- including the purple -- so they moved the date back.

Glad I got two anyway.

I think the concern with the shimma(lol) is that it will accentuate items that don't want even be noticed in the first place ie pores, wrinkles, crows feet etc.

I think it's a highly personal thing. The problem isn't so much how old you are (or at least, that's more in your mind), but what signs of aging your body shows. I might feel like I could rock a miniskirt and tube top into my eighties (I don't), but if my legs are covered in varicose veins and my lady lumps are level with my hips, I'm going to have to admit that that get-up is not going to make me look my best. With makeup, I feel like there are lots of great things that I would want to wear, but I also know that very frosty formulas, for instance, call attention to the fact that my eyelids have gotten kind of "crepe-y" as I've aged. Also, those formulas have a tendency to migrate into the fine lines around my eyes, which makes them more obvious- absolutely not what I'm going for in a look.

Some people feel less comfortable with certain shades or textures as they age, but in terms of being "too old" for something, it's really more about knowing how what flatters you changes as you get older.
