MAC Heavenly creature discussion

You're welcome! I had to be darned sure it was something unique rather than pass up on it completely! Did you pick it up?? I find myself saying that I could have easily passed it up, but everyone is right: it really does something magical on the lips! It's so pretty!
Surprisingly, I didn't it! I convinced myself that I would find something similar from the perm. Isn't it crazy? I'm still trying to stay strong. No MB, no MES, no lipstick, and no CSG. However, MSFs ate my wallet. I got Light Year (x2) and Star Wonder (x2). I'm a blush (this time MSF) ho.

I've finished Beige-Ing shadestick, and it felt soooooooooo good! I was not sad as I have backups. I haven't finished any makeup items except Beige-Ing, but I'm working on it. I want to feel accomplished.

It can be good or bittersweet! I know I will be a little sad the day I use up all of my Rose Maiden and One of a Kind lipsticks, but then again I don't feel like hunting them down to pay more than retail for them, either! I use lip glosses up super fast, especially if I use the same one frequently.

I bought a Buxom lipgloss around Thanksgiving and finished it by New Years. I'm not sure how much product is in those, but I didn't buy it again because it was $18-20 for it and the packaging was kind of bulky. So far this year I've finished 3 lipglasses and one cremesheen, as well as two drugstore brands. I love my lipsticks, but I like to layer lipgloss over them so throughout the day it's easier for me to reapply, even without a mirror.

You're welcome for the info :) I haven't looked lately, but Sigma has great brushes too. They might have a fan brush available there as well!
OMG Rose Maiden! So sorry I never bought that one. I was trying to think if there was any other collection I spent ludicrous amounts of money on and I think it may have been Spring Color Forecast. I think Rose Maiden was one of the few things I didn't get. I made a huge first purchase but kept going back and back and I was thinking of getting Rose Maiden and Radicchio but I thought I needed to stop the madness! Great collection though.

:amused:  Hun, my stash is so large & I don't give a flying crap what anybody thinks. I love ALL of it. I'm almost 53 so I've been collecting a loooong time. To each his own. I have no other vices, & makeup makes me happy. And, it helps that my hubs thinks its just fine no matter how much I buy. He says a girls gotta have her makeup :D
That's amazing that you have that support :D Yes definitely, to each their own. I don't have any other vices as well... Alcohol = meh, smoking = no way, I don't have a car, maybe my books? Lol I love reading  But I stare at and swatch my makeup because it makes me happy! :)

I've been really getting into makeup for the last 1.5 years and have accumulated a ton of makeup. I love shimmery products...but lately I have started to worry that I may be getting too old to use it ...does anyone else have the same worries? I'm 27 and I think...ok..how long do I have left to enjoy my shimmery highlighters and MES before I can't and should start using mattes? Am I over-worrying?

I'm gonna be 34 in a few months (yikes! lol) and just got into the mineralize. I figure as long as it looks good. Getting older bites so why give up everything. I just depends on how you apply it honestly.

What made you come to that conclusion?

Well, I tried both of them today. One on each cheek and I thought they were similar as well. I thought Light Year was a better product and the shimmer stayed in one place and meld with the skin for a natural glow effect. Solar Ray had glitter bits moving all over my face and was a bit messy. I really liked how Light Year looked on my skin and I could see using it a lot.

Here is my new love...very little gold in this one!

I'm taking Human Anatomy class right now and we are on the reproductive system, so naturally my mind went there instead of seeing a snake! So ready for this class to be over with!!

Today I finally saw the collection in person! Everything looked so gorgeous!! I went to my MAC store to B2M for three eyeshadows and a lipstick. I asked if they had Light Year MSF and they did not so they called Macy's to see if they have any in stock. They did indeed had three left so I went to Macy's to get it and I am so happy!! It is gorgeous! I almost ordered it off of Nordstrom's website but glad I got it today! My Earthshine shipped today so I now have all four MSFs from this collection!! YAY! Also thanks to duckerodeo, I will have to backup Meteoric like four times! LOL! It is a gorgeous color!

I will admit that I have enough lipsticks to last years and eyeshadows up the wazoo - but as others have said here, makeup is a hobby! If we spend our money on that, so what? It's our money, our free time and our interest! My brother collects mostly baseball, but sports memorabilia in general, and he always has to give his two cents on how much makeup I own (even though he hasn't seen all of it!), and how many clothes I buy, etc etc. Basically he asks: "Why do you spend your money on that?" umm, because it's my money and not yours! He buys stuff that just sits in a display case, or goes into a binder or storage, but he has it and he loves it, so who am I to judge? To me, it's frivolous that he spends money on getting a baseball with a pen signature on it, but to him: it's what he loves to do and spend his money on! So, even though people may feel the need to interject their opinion, take it with a grain of salt and keep doing your thang!
Thank you! I love my swirls! hhee! and yesss 4 Meteorics lol. There's really not much product in a cremesheen so I tend to use them up very quick! Much faster than a lipstick or regular lipglass. I've finished one Narcissus (Daphne Guinness) cremesheen and got BUs of that one, too. I don't buy cremesheens too often because I'm not 100% committed to the formula (I prefer the sticky-tacky feeling of a lipglass, they're much easier to tell when it's time to reapply!), however if the color is unique I will buy it and also get a BU. Meteoric is great with coral lipsticks and even just fabulous on its own, so I had to buy it plus BUs

I didn't get any backups of blushes, since a little goes a very long way! Especially with Supernova. I've only swatched it on my arm so far, but daaang does it pack a punch! I'll try to wear it sometime this week to get a feel of how to work with it! I'm sure our PRO-specktrettes can confirm, but I think the MAC fan brush is a limited edition brush that popped up when Tres Cheek came out - so I'm not sure of its likelihood of being restocked, but again our PRO members can definitely confirm one way or another!

I use a regular contour blush brush for my MBs and it's definitely workable. I just dab the brush on the product - no swiping or swirling of the brush, and then I apply it with a very light-hand on my cheeks. If I need to add more, I do the same technique, but I find it reduces packing on too much product, as well as wasting product by having the blush pieces getting kicked up and hanging out on the rim of the pot.

Light Year and Solar Ray looked almost identical on me, too, except Solar Ray had more of a golden-peachy shimmer to it, that made me pass on it. Light Year is much more blendable and is easy for me to apply for a glow on the cheeks! Solar Ray I would probably use for the same purpose, but since there is more product in an MSF, I went for LY!
Oh, I see. You're very right, and just like the few other people who have mentioned similar advice, I value your story and input! :) I feel like I should post my makeup collection as it's only 2 drawers and less than a train case full of stuff, but I want to share with everyone all of my swirly goodies first, as everyone else have showed theirs :D I love looking at these swirls! It's like I can't stop, I keep searching Google for a new review everyday or go through Specktra looking for more that I have yet not seen :p I feel like I'm the only person who didn't pick up any of the MES, CSG's, or lipsticks. I only got LY, ES, and SW, as well as RoS and Supernova.

Ooh, I agree but I feel Solar ray is darker and has more of a "glow". I only swatched them both on the back of my left hand which is about an NC 42, perhaps I should get them to put it my face when I go back on Monday lol... I feel the same about the glitter in Solar Ray as well. I've been wanting a BU of LY anyways, so I'll probably grab it regardless.

Seeing it in real life is dangerous isn't it? I was only planning to get Starwonder, Venus (which I ordered online) and go to swatch Magnetic Attraction and Earthshine. I ended up hauling Earthshine, Light Year, All four mineral blushes, and ordering MA online with a GC. Those swirls are just sooo gorgeous in person! So glad you ended up grabbing a Light Year and get to partake in it's sheeny pinky peach gorgeousness!

LOL that's what I keep doing. Everyday I get online I check this thread, and I also google and youtube "MAC Heavenly Creature". I'm obsessed.

But is it just me, or does it seem like there aren't as many videos and reviews as other mineralize collections in the past, even Naturally which was only like half a year ago. It kind of makes me sad, because I was loving this collection so much and anticipating all the haul videos to see all the swirls.
