I don't have any issue with how many of a product someone buys for personal use. I only have an issue with scalping. I can't believe how many CYYs there are on EBay right now! Whatever tracking system MAC is using isn't stopping the real problem. They can tell when a loyal MAC customer buys one of a lot of products and 3-5 of ones they really love, versus the scalpers who probably buy 6-10 each of the hot items. I will say, though, that I've learned to stalk and I haven't had a problem getting an item since I got back into MAC around the Shop, Cook collection. I do think that they should at least make enough products to last 24 hours though, as many don't have the time to stalk.  Thankfully, all the comparison swatches are making me realize just how many products I'm neglecting! I have Pink Pigeon on right now, and on me, it is neon. I'm super pale though, but I'll be happy if this new CYY is similar to this, just in a different shade.
yeah, i don't have a problem with people buying for personal use...and as for ebay/scalpers, well that's just something that will always be around in some form or another, and at least mac are trying to curb this problem by placing limits on orders. but mac really should make larger amounts of product! i mean, they could even take orders if they were worried about having excess....

If someone wants a moxie, PM me. I have an extra one. I didn't love it as much as I thought I would and it'll probably take me forever to go through the one I used. I'll sell it for retail plus a little to ship it to you.

i missed out on candy yum yum once again. i chatted with a mac rep said that they wouldn't be restocked and the best she could do was direct me to similar shades...lickable for candy yum yum and lustering for moxie...but lustering is a completely different finish =(.
The colours suggested as dupes are not even close. They must be basing it on the silly colour descriptions on their website.

If you can find Dear Diary anywhere, I'd say that's your closes MAC dupe for CYY, and Impassioned looks similar to Moxie. Some are saying Impassioned is a bit more pink, and yes, it is a different finish. On me, Impassioned can be matted out a bit, by blotting it.

Your best bet: wait and see if there's a restock, or if any lovely specktrettes sell their backups in the clearance section.

Edited to add: Look at the post above mine. You may be in luck

Though these aren't the same products, there's a similar situation going on with Starbucks. The new refreshers in the instant "VIA" form are selling like hotcakes. We can't keep them on the shelves for more than one day and for the past two weeks: the warehouse has been sold out! Starbucks did not anticipate such a frenzy over them (and yes, I do receive a handful of "what?! You're out?!! When will they be back?!") right now we're not meeting the demand that was four times greater than expected, according to sales. Ok, so at least we know there's less of a chance that these are popping up on eBay, but still an example of how a company CAN mistakenly project how much of one item to manufacture and it's not enough. Business models can predict due to what's gone on in the past, but they're not perfect and they can't see into the future, they can only guesstimate based on trends (which aren't perfect, either). Let's just say that while MAC did anticipate each shade by vote, they did not expect that so many people would order so many at a time (scalpers aside). IF MAC produced one billion of these, I'm sure that given the "limited edition" nature of the product, it would still sell out and there would still be those without it. How many of us thought, "maybe I'll get another backup..." when the Add to Cart link was still available?

You are so spot on with that. COMPLETELY!

ignore top row (various mac and l'oreal items)
2nd row: jest, jete, expensive pink
3rd row: arena, flip, jete
4th row: (forgot - sorry!), the balm standoffish, the balm stubborn, jete

the second pic is a zoom in of the last row.
i had a hard time photographing, because there was a lot of glare....it's the first time i'm posting swatches, and i don't think i have the knack of taking good pics yet!
i thought the closest to jete in terms of colour was the balm stubborn, but the finish is very different, so they photograph differently. stubborn is much more finely milled, and a smidge more pink as opposed to peach. but on my skintone, it's extremely difficult to pick up on that tonal difference.

I got CYY today. I like it. I think I passed the first time because it's matte and I'm not friends with matte lipsticks (for the most part). That has changed lately, though. I know how to work with it. I really like this color. I can build the intensity of the color if I want or make it look like a stain. A+

Here's a tactic to take down the scalpers, when we strongly suspect there'll be a run on something. Buy a ton. List them for a Buy-It-Now to cover retail price, original shipping, ebay fees and economy shipping so nobody loses money but the inflated price on ebay is crushed. around $21-27ish. I guess it's hard to really know when they'll be such insane demand, but i think we all knew CYY would have been *popular*. It seems like the vibrant, matte or oddly coloured lippies from the LE collections is always the coveted color.

I just read this on livejournal...
i just got off the phone with mac & was told there will not be another re-stock of candy yum yum lipstick :/
they counted what was left after the first orders all went through & re-stocked what was left.
that's it, no more.
..
truthfully I don't believe there won't be an actual (making more product) restock, since this was just them putting their remaining stock up for sale, their facebook page said they would try to make more so I think there will be a real restock, we'll see

Thanks a lot for the swatches!
These light shimmery colors are not so easy to photograph and I think you did a good job!
I pulled out my nudetude palette earlier to have a look and I could see some similarities to various Jete swatches. I think you are right about Jete being just a little bit more peachy. Stubborn seems a bit more faded as well. The finish can also be deceptive in photos. I just don't know now lol.

To buy or not to buy?! Gah :)

So much chatter about the lipsticks. The only things I'm picking up from this collection are Moth Brown and Jete e/s. Can anyone compare Jete to UD's Scratch? I'm hoping it's a dupe, but not sure. I love Scratch, and would love to have a mac-sized one in my 15-pan.
