why do people swatch on the back of their arm where all the arm hair is? that always puzzles me.... why not the inner arm?
For me, it just feels weird to twist my arm around to the inner part to make swatches. Let alone holding that position while trying to take a picture with one hand, lol. It may also be because I prefer to swatch with my arm horizontal instead of vertical. I can compare the colors better visually from side to side instead of up and down.

I don't swatch my inner arm because it is like 3 shades lighter than my face, chest, and everything else but my tail. So I am NW15 or so on my face, the inner arm is scary white and is not what the color would look like. Also, where I am so pale the veins are dark blue/purple and it looks weird and throws off colors even more. Zebra striped swatches are no bueno. That is just me though.
I think usually when I swatch, my aim is moreso to show the product as clearly as possible....not necessarily match the color of my face...cuz nobody I know is as pale as me anyway, lol.

I really don't think it is. I'm at work so I can't swatch them together, but on me, they're completely different.

Here's a blog with them swatched side by side: http://eyeheartit.blogspot.com/2011/08/mac-candy-yum-yum.html
Thanks for the link!
I also thought they're not similar. Lickable is much more reddish I think.

By the way, the old CYY and the new one are different?
Actually, I saw a couple of complaints about it on MAC FB.
Which one do you guys who have both prefer?

that is so awesome. On a lark I checked for Glam which was my every single freaking day lip for a year and they have it! Woot, woot. Now if only I could remember the color name of lancome red lipstick I wore in the 80's. It is so long D/c that a half dozen SAs don't even remember the tube it came in. [slender long tube ala mattene but silver] Of course the last gal said she wasn't even wearing makeup in the 80's so that is what I get for being old enough to be these gals mum.

I do most of my swatching on the back of my hand now. I make little blobs instead of long swipes usually, unless its a blush that is really light and hard to see....

my hand is darker than my face, but i can manipulate the angles better to show off the finish/color.

The old color/new texture. Some people prefer the new one all together because it is easier to pull off and work with.

The new one applies and wears easier, it is smoother. I like the color of the original much better.

Wow! I almost forgot about this launch. I ordered all 3 shadows. I figure if I don't like Guacomole or its too similar to the other greens I have, I can give it to my mother. I took her to the Mac store to make a 4 pan since I bumped into one of her shadows and broke it. I thought she would get all new colors but she wanted the same colors she already had in a palette. We couldn't find all the dupes in the permanent range. But she was especially bothered not to find a dupe of Fresh Flare. How strange! I could have sworn there was something similar in the permanent range. Maybe Guacamole would be close enough. Anyway, hopefully my glosses with arrive today.

Stuck to my guns and only bought what I originally had planned to buy (Candy Yum-Yum, Moxie and Flash of Flesh). I have enough eyeshadows to last me until I hit the grave (LOL). Nonetheless, happy shopping ladies and gentlemen!

at the store I swatch on the back of my hand/arm but when I am taking pictures of comparing I sometimes do it on inner arm. My forearm is darker than my face since it rests on car sill while driving etc and I wear sunscreen on my face {in moisturizer, foundation etc} The inner arm is only because that is how I see other peep swatching so I figured lighter is better than tanville tho honestly the best match would probably be along side of arm so half hairy half not!

Lickable is described as a bright clean blue pink - kinds looks like a magenta and CYY is a neon pink - bright pink.

Do a search on Google Images to see the difference.

I don't believe there any other shades in MAC's l/s arsenal that comes anywhere near CYY.

Lickable is what MAC is telling people to get in place of CYY!
