those moth browns are NOT the same.....If they are going to repromote/customer vote something, they need to make them the SAME...otherwise people dont really know what they are voting for
So true!

Now I'm not a guac fan(sorry Pinkdollface!) but that swatch is making think of how I can use it lol.

I'm thinking they probably can't make the shades exactly the same, especially the LE ones.

A friend of mine dyes fiber (yarn) for a living and always runs into trouble with the formulation and colors of the dyes changing on a regular basis.

This year's Army Green may not be the same as last year's.

I bet MAC and other cosmetic companies run into the same problem as well.

I panicked b/c I thought MB was sold out, but I still see it available on the US site.

It doesn't matter...Shellcat's swatches have kinda left me disappointed. I'm sure it's a lovely color and I'll use it a lot, but I WANTED THE PURPLE SHIFT. It's what sold me on MB

Umm - what is the purple shift? I'm missing something here. From the swatches MB looks purple/gray to me. THX.
The old one has a purple shift to it meaning one direction it will look like grey/brown and another direction it will look like it does in Shell's pic. The new one just looks grey/brown period.

How is that I can go down to Home Depot with some random swatch of color and they can match it, but MAC cannot make the same color as a color they have already made? I know batches vary, but the missing purple is a big variance in my opinion.

Hey guys, I'm still fairly new to how things work on here. I see a lot of people trying to "swap" for other coveted items. I have a few NIB limited edition items I wouldn't mind swapping or selling, but I don't like the idea of evilbay or overcharging. How would I go about it?

I just went in there and swatched again, THINKING maybe first swatch would be that way. But nope, same result.

SMH, I just don't get it either.

OLD Moth Brown IS a taupey/purple/grey

The new one is more grey with a tinge of taupe on me.
Yes, I agree. I just removed my makeup before bed and then took a minute to apply Jete and MB. I love Jete (gotta love VPs); no way that's getting passed on. It's a great lid wash shade that's got shimmer but is office friendly. Now that I look at MB again, it's got more of a taupe tinge than purple. I put it against both Satin Taupe and Shale (my beloved old friend) and it just looks grey. I like it because I have nothing like it and because I don't have the old MB to compare it to.

The optimist in me hopes that maybe you have to get deeper into the shadow to release the purple! Magical thinking always helps.
