Thanks - it's very pretty but a lot lighter than I had expected. It's nice to know I can get that kind of work-friendly look with it. The colour looks a lot deeper in the instagram swatches on fairer skin, but I think that's probably because it was applied more heavily.

I'm really looking forward to getting this one. I loathe Cyber; no matter what I try, I can't get that one to apply nicely. I think it takes someone with better skills than I possess. I'm happy to have this as an alterative.

She's probably wearing a liner, maybe Nightmoth. Also, in that pic it seems a bit more matte on her. It looks kinda glossy on me. Maybe it's the prep+prime effect, but it's never interfered with any lip product I've worn before. I'll play around with it again later w/ and w/o p+p and I think I still have NM liner, too. I'll get back to you. I'm not eager to make it darker, though I want the grey. blah. Oh and I didn't apply it lighter either. I was applied and reapplied and applied some more.

Question I've been wanting to ask p&p wearers. When you wear your prep and prime do you apply your lipstick immediately after applying the p&p? I used to do that but I realized when I let it sit for a bit and get kind of tacky, it seems to hold my lipstick longer.

I usually wait for about 5 or 10 minutes, before applying a lipstick

I'm glad it's not overly dark - I've got other lipsticks to take care of that department. 'Looks like a dirty magenta. 'Very unique. I think this might be the color I saw in a runway shot back when the fall collections were being shown. I've been waiting for that one to turn up all this time. 'Looking forward to

I am sorry you are disappointed. I think it is very beautiful on you. In fact I think it looks better than the pics of Banks wearing it although after watching the 1991 video it looks like she is wearing two different lippies~ one reddish and the other really matte almost black purple. Perhaps it is an application thing cus this looks like the reddish one she is wearing when lounging at beginning and then again midway

I put my lipstick on immediately. I don't want the tacky feeling. I like the lipstick to glide on. I've never had problems with wear time. I bought P+P to see if it would help make application easier and it does(it definitely helps for lip liner!).

After looking at your swatches it doens't look much different than the plum which i also own. When I get mine, and I haven't gotten the shipping notice yet, I can compare for you

I am glad that I decided to wait for more pics. After looking at the swatches, I have decided that this purple isn't for me. It is just 'eh' and reminds me of the Deep in Love from a few years ago that doesn't look good on me at all. Tribalist this isn't. LOL. I will just use what I save here to go ahead and purchase another deep purple that I had been eyeing for a while now, NARS' Lip Pencil in Train Bleu. I have swatched that one several times now, compared it to other deep purples I own (Night Violet, Tribalist, Bing, Cyber) and feel justified buying it because it is more red than the aforementioned. Sorry MAC. Maybe next time.

Oh wow, I clicked on that Chanel La Provocante link above. Now THAT lipstick looks nice! However, I only own one Chanel lipstick in shade Maniac and it is streaky as all get out. MAC's Cunning lipstick was comparable to it and the quality of Cunning compared to Maniac was laughable. It was much more pigmented and non-streaky. Are a lot of Chanel's lipsticks like that? I expect a whole lot more for the price. Maybe it is the finish...

Most of Chanel's lipsticks are great. Some of the best high end lipsticks out there.

What finish is Maniac? I really like the Rouge Allure finish. Very smooth and creamy. The new Rouge Allures are even better. I also have one Rouge Coco in Caractère and I like that one too. I'm trying the Rouge Allure Velvet for the first time tomorrow when my order arrives.

Speaking of shipments, my YR order is STILL pending...

Yeah Copperhead - I apply the P+P at the beginning - when I'm doing my eyes - so by the time I get to my lips it will have set or settled some.

LOVE the stuff!
