Beautiful swatches, thank you ! Deeply adored is really very pretty, the collection is pretty on the whole but why repromoting Scarlet Ibis ? Maybe they could have created new shades for all lipsticks.

This collection probably won't hit the site until late tonight or sometime tomorrow. If it's supposed to be online Thursday I think Monday might be a tad bit too early. That's my thinking anyway. I know in the past Tuesday's had become a common day for new collections to appear online. Everybody just breaaaathe. LOL.

I constantly ask myself this question. I find the answer is personal to how you buy and use makeup. So far, I limit myself to only 1 BU of things I really absolutely love. I have yet to finish a tube of lipstick. I'm still thinking about extra BUs for a few shades, but I don't think it's likely they would ever get used in my case. I BU eye shadow the least because I just don't wear it that often. I buy blush from other brands and the colors are usually permanent or the LE colors last a long time, so I don't ever worry about getting BUs of blush.

I have only ever backed up 1 MAC l/s - Marquise D' from Wonder Woman.
It was the first ever MAC product I ever bought and I fell in love! I managed to snag 2 backups, and finished my original l/s a couple of months ago.
It's still my favourite ever lipstick and I wore it today in fact
My general rule is to only back up items I know I can easily wear every day and hence will get a lot of use out of (and also brushes!)

Not Marilyn related but Mac lippie related. Does anyone here who's got Venus or fire sign noticed any white spots on them? I posted in the HC thread but everyone's in here. I'm all stressed about my lippies now. Just what I need more stress. Thanks to those who check. Figured this is relevant to the bu discussion as lippies do have shelf lives.

I'm with Copperhead on this. With the Extra Dimension collection i was in my stalker mode and it appeared sooner than the expected release date. I really hope this one comes out tonight or tomorrow.

I mean let's not stop stalking though. LOL! But we can't really get mad at MAC if they say the collection won't be online until the 27th. If it appears earlier, which they usually do, then hey, that's just gravy.

I'm slightly leery of backups. My experience has been that I'll backup something I love only to have it not sellout and/or be a re-promote or worse yet I don't wear it as much as when I first purchased it so it's sitting around. That spells disaster because I have a daughter with sticky fingers who loves to raid the stash box! Anyway I do want all of the reds lipsticks in the Marilyn Collection and nothing else. I'll pass on the nude and I probably won't do backups.

I will buy anywhere between 1 and 4 backups of lipsticks I really love, and I gauge whether I will wear the s^#* out of the shade or not and also the finish has a big factor. Lustres go the fastest, mattes take the longest to work through. I'm almost done and going to scrape the bits of my first Flamingo, and my first Pink Pigeon has about 25% left. Sometimes a lipstick can take 3 months of routine use. It really is a gamble, though, and lots of times I will order 4 to be on the safe side (4 being the maximum quantity MAC will allow for online purchasing). So far, so good, though! The most I've ever bought were 6 of Ruffian Red and Red Racer, which I consider to be my Holy Grail reds! I managed to get them at separate times. It seems lately, MAC is sticking to their 4 of any one item policy. I had an instance trying to order 6 Candy Yum-Yums and they only let me order 2 (my order with 4 was canceled). Anyway, it just depends - if it's a shade that you'll wear the hell out of, by all means back it up, and if you get to a point down the road, you can more likely than not swap or sell a LE shade in the Specktra Clearance Bin! Most of the time, I will order in pairs if it's a shade I know I'll like but not love - I really keep a good reserve in case I happen to lose, drop or break a LE item. As always, Backups are best kept preserved in a dark cold climate (fridge), so that they preserve their freshness!

Sorry for the weird question earlier just kinda ocd about my stuff. I have an ac in my room now with my lippies but I wonder too if what I saw was from sweating as it was even all over and my drier formula lippies are just fine. I noticed a slight bit of dots on my Gaga too. I wouldn't say dots tho as they're so small. But it's usually completely even like it's a part of the finish. I wiped the few that I saw with it off to clean them just in case and will keep an eye on them but am weird about buying anymore lippies now. I have like 34 mac ones lol.

Did you order these online? Maybe they did sweat a bit while on the way to you. Were these 'dots' on them when you first received them? Sometimes the oils bead up when lippies get warm and perhaps when they dried, that's how they ended up looking. It doesn't usually affect the product though.

I see it on Pro as COMING SOON-can't come fast enough for me! If the discount applies to this collection I'm gonna be so happy. Won't believe it till I see it though. I asked about that on a phone call to Mac a week ago and the person I talked to wasn't sure.
