I prefer SI ten times over SLV. I played with both of them today. I don't love the Satin finish for SLV and SI pops more on me. I'm kinda tempted to get a backup.

to me SLV is not a dupe for SI. i wouldnt even compare those. to me Lady Danger is the dupe for SI. if you dont have LD get SI.

Did you order these online? Maybe they did sweat a bit while on the way to you. Were these 'dots' on them when you first received them? Sometimes the oils bead up when lippies get warm and perhaps when they dried, that's how they ended up looking. It doesn't usually affect the product though.

You know, now I think I know exactly what you're talking about. I ordered Plum Bright lipstick online and it had a white coating over it when it arrived. I never saw anything like it before and I was still new to lipsticks, so I thought something was wrong with it. I called MAC and got a replacement sent. The replacement also arrived with the same white coating. I realized that it's nothing wrong with the lipstick. I think it has to do with it sweating like Copperhead said.

That's because we know red isn't just red! There's bright red, deep red, blue red, pink red, raspberry red, orange-red, red-orange - *pauses to take a breath* - brown red, wine red, matte red, sheer red, satin red, shimmer red, and so many, many more reds. So wanting several red lipsticks is perfectly normal.

My husband and I are looking into buying a house very soon and having working ac is a must. We rent now and the ducting is so bad that the ac only cools the attic and then freezes up b/c it's working so hard. Btw, were you able to wear your PB w/o issue? I was worried about mold but all the images I saw via google weren't so small and uniform.

Not Marilyn related but Mac lippie related. Does anyone here who's got Venus or fire sign noticed any white spots on them? I posted in the HC thread but everyone's in here. I'm all stressed about my lippies now. Just what I need more stress. Thanks to those who check. Figured this is relevant to the bu discussion as lippies do have shelf lives.

I have both, and they're fine. I use Venus a lot, and I've only worn Fire Sign a few times, but there isn't anything funny going on with either one. However, some of my lippies develop a whitish coating on them, and they're not even that old. Lazy Day and Lustering did this. I still wear them Actually, I don't wear Lazy Day much, it's not a great colour.

Phiff is a re-promote. I have it from the Dazzlesphere set from last holiday. It's clear, with gold and multi-colored flecks, IIRC. You should be able to find lots of swatches online. Either way, it shouldn't sell out super quickly, you should be able to swatch it in store.

Same here. That's why I HATE that the online launch is so early. By the time I would be ready to order, after having swatched in store, stuff is already sold out. So I have no choice but to purchase in store. I only ever bought SR and the By Request shadows online.

Only you can decide. Think about how many lipsticks you've ever gone through in your life and then made a dent in a second tube of it. Also, think about how often you will wear it. If it's an everyday nude, then sure, get a backup. If it's a bright red that you will only wear on special occasions, then there's no way you will ever need a backup. Save the money for something different.

I'm thinking it's a lustre finish thing. Maybe from sweating but I am glad to know that eventhough yours did it you are fine. I'll wear mine unless they get furry or something lol.

I have no issues wearing it and it's one of my favorite purple lipsticks. It's normal in every other sense except for the white coating.

I just bought LE Revlon lipstick shades Cherry Blossom and Red Lacquer. Yup, multiple red lipsticks for me! Lol dang Walgreens BOGO 50% off and LE just set a bell off on my noggin!
