MAC for Marilyn

By Request has just launched online in Australia and Candy Yum Yum is in stock ... girls, do I need to get it? (I don't have it)

I know everyone is bonkers for this lippie but just so you have an opinion from another face, it looked AWFUL on me. I'm NW15-20 but any lipstick that has white in its base (like CYY, Ever Hip, etc) makes me look like some kind of freakish wax figure instead of a flesh and blood lady. But that's just my two cents!

On another note, all this MM fanfare (and the fact that I have 4 new red lippies coming my way) has made me step it up to start wearing the red lipsticks I already own and I'm finding out that it's not that hard! I always feel like it's too much of a commitment and too high maintenance, but the ones that I already own (Red Racer, Heartless, and Runaway Red) are just gorgeous and really easy to wear. So much so that I am kinda wondering if I even needed to buy all those Marilyn lipsticks......

But I guess "need" is all realative here on Specktra, right?

I really want to get a back up of The Perfect Cheek but IDK if this will ever happen ...

Here's Love Goddess paired with Beet lipliner. It looks really red in the pictures, but you can see the hint of berry pinky in it, too. While it's not the same as Moxie, I feel that they both achieve the same look, so I'm just find interchanging the two of them. I prefer the glossiness of LG, though. I'm also wearing the beauty powder, but it's about 7 hours in, so not sure how much of it has faded since then.

You are not alone. I found that of pale NW beauties are not always served best with cool colors exclusively. It quickly can turn from dramatic into ghostly. On the other hand, slightly warm colors can bring life to a pale NW complexion (I'm talking about NW10-20). The best example from recent collections is Worldly Wealth or Pure Zen. While both are labeled as warm, they look absolutely stunning on cool NW skin as they add some warmth without being overpowering.

Today the collection launched on the italian web site and every lipstick was immediately sold out O__o the point is probably Mac didn't have any lipsticks for our web site.. I've asked on the Mac italian fan page on facebook if anyone could buy something and only a girl has taken Moxie -___-

Anyway, today I've received my Forever Marilyn BP which I preordered and I've bought online Rocker and Moth Brown ^^

I wanted Lovegoddess too ..

Love Goddess is gone from House of Fraser and I'm debating whether I want to order backups of FM now, or wait til I get my black box and can try it first!

I think I'm going to try this in store tomorrow and pick it up in regular packaging if it's as pretty as it looks!

I'm actually in nursing school I graduate in December, but after today's ordeal I am definitely nurse. Anyways I just got off the phone with the must amazing husband a girl could ever have he told me that he knew I was upset about not getting the lipsticks I wanted so he went to the macys counter close to the base he is stationed on in FL and begged the manager to pre-order the lipsticks for me and she allowed him to do it :cheer: I am definitely one lucky girl!!! So funny that he feeds my addiction lolll

Aww that's so sweet you deserve it especially after what happened. Lol @ your husband feeding in my bf will probaby too when it comes to lippies. I'm thinking about nursing myself, but I'm not sure if I can handle it. For now I'm tryin to get into the rad tech program.

yes I think you've got your reds covered. You won't regret moxie it's soooo pretty. I know I e got my res covered especially after Marilyn collection.

YES!! Back it up while you can if you are NW 20 or less. I love it.

The first thing I did was put FM on over my foundation, blush etc and it's TO DIE FOR! I just ordered a backup

Personally, I was upset with CYY. I skipped it when it was out with Quite Cute, convincing myself I already had enough bright pink lipsticks...then felt skipper's remorse for months after. I was so excited when it got released again with By Request, so I ordered 2 of them. Unfortunately, the By Request version is not the same as the original. It's close,. don't get me wrong. But it's not quite as violently neon pink as the original CYY. A lot of people seem to be happy with it though, especially people who thought the original was a little too much for them in the brightness department! I'd check out swatches and be sure you're looking at swatches of the newer version. If it looks like a color you would wear, get it!

Wish I could sell or swap my extra CYY so that someone who really wanted it could have it, but I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed to do that as a pro member.

I don't know if this has been mentioned already, and if it has I apologize for repeating. Revlon's Cherries In the Snow is a close dupe for Love Goddess. I bought CITS yesterday after a blogger stated how white it made her teeth look. I noticed it looked similar to LG so I swatched them. LG pulls a little more red and CITS pulls a little more pink. Applied though, you really can't tell a difference. I know it's not the Marilyn collection but if you missed LG then CITS could be an alternative for you.

Some lipsticks are back up on Macy's website. Scarlet Ibis and Charmed I'm Sure. Love Goddess is sold out and Deeply Adored was there but is sold out now. Pure Zen isn't there at all.
