At least it's a somewhat honest answer. Rather than saying, "Yes, there will be a restock" and waiting around or "No, there won't be a restock" and having a bitty restock come out of left field.I chatted online with an MUA from MAC's US website and she told me that despite trying to find quantities for a re-stock, they aren't sure if it's going to be possible. Way to be bleak...

Yeah, I guess it is an honest and quite a happy medium type answer. She later mentioned about checking the collection in stores though and gave me the store locator link.

I wonder too, about any restock, if the Licensing on MM comes into play. I know that if it were my licensing contract with MAC I would have set the product quantities at a rate higher than just last years bleak sales. Eh, but what do I know

lol it looks pink in the tube but its clear as day red on my lips. I added MUFE 16c liner to fill my lips in then apply the lipstick and its more pink then, but it still leans red.
I feel better knowing its not just me!

I don't have my license either and I'm 28 lol and I was never in a rush to get it. I got my permit when I was 23 and that expired lol. I don't really need it because of the trains and buses, but now I kinda I want my license

LOL! It was quite apropos. I thought: the customers got screwed, by the department store associates themselves. I had a moment of disgust, but then I realized that it's just makeup. That is: this is my hobby (as opposed to a professional vocation) and I have many options to choose from, either from MAC's future collections or other brands. At least I managed to pick up a set of Hourglass lipsticks recently.I'm sorry that happened, but the way you said it is so funny.

A friend works in marketing (not cosmetics) and mentioned to me that its 'possible' (I have no inside knowledge mind you) that MAC only paid for the licensing for a certain number of products to be made. That could explain why such limited quantities. Granted it was super dumb of them not to realize what the demand would be for this collection....

I believe there was a similar issue with theBalm and the Muppet palette, but they are a small company! Estee Lauder definitely has the money to spend to ensure there is enough stock. They just didn't want to and that's the truth.
I chose not to go to the counter and hearing the stories I'm glad. I don't like stuff like this (Black Friday, etc.) I'm happy that I got to order some stuff and I know there will chances to swap/buy in the future for reasonable prices.

went to the store today, to check whether my preorder (placed 3 weeks ago) was indeed cancelled. Everything sold out, when I was there about 10:30 am. My friend who went early morning before the mall was opened, told me they only have blushes, nail gloss, eye liner, brown liner,....seriously, most things were gone even though she is one of the early birds , so I got so many questions unanswered here. Where actually those stock went to?
I can always see they have more than 6 pcs for each item on the rack (other collection), it is a bit strange they said they only got 6 pcs for each item ?
asked why there are no stock even though not taking pre order. The reason given for not taking pre order is to keep the stock for the stores when they are released, yet they still have nothing much left. just doesn't make sense, the staff purchased them or some were on hold for pre order? Just feeling it is a mess.
Anyway, next time I would only do pre order through 2 person, they would really follow up my orders.

Omg lol so I get to Macy's at 9:05 w my sis in law and there were like 10 behind me in a short amount of time (i was first in line) then doors open I go inside they have ropes to make another line and while we waited they told us to make a list I ordered 2 pure zen and one da and lg well apparently there was only one da cuz a girl few people behind me tried to buy it off me I'm like no sorry, I felt so stingy but I wanted it and I was first, I wanted a bp but they had none well after I was done I turned around and saw the line was super long, I felt bad for them cuz I knew they had low stock well they sold out of EVERYTHING in 10 min I got to pre order from glamour daze too paid for that which I regret now, anyways once everything sold out everyone left and I was talking to the manager she did the search and scan or odk what she called and found me a bp so glad I stayed entertained w the glamour daze stuff otherwise I wouldn't get my bp. : )

Oh and they only let people get one of each item so they must of really had like nothing if I was the only to get DA and 1 pure zen when I asked for 2

my funny story...I already got what i wanted from the pro store and received a call from Nordstrom today...looks like i got another free $50 gift card. anywho the lady was like "do u know what u want to use the $50 for?" and i said oh i dunno makeup is always good...thinking of other brands besides mac. she said oh well if u like Mac there is a MOB at the counter right now because they just released some Marilyn collection and she'd never seen anything like it...and i was like oh i know the collection but I already got my items....she was like oh good for you bc there are a lot of angry people upstairs LOL mind u she called me at work so it wasn't like i could rush down there anyways....but ya, i can't believe this collection is THAT insane. oh well i only got 11 or so days until the holiday collection is out. on to better things =)
oh ya, i'll probably spend the $50 on jewelry...or shoes...or jeans...lol

It def was a crazy day/collection that I feel so overwhelmed and a little disappointed I only got one pure zen and didn't realize till I got home
