Glamourdaze and offshoot are the same too me. dead on dupes. good thing i got it for my mom.

top: prince noir, Deeply adored
bottom: Young R, Dramatic encounter

so YR and DE are the same color but DE is more opaque. you dont need both. unless you loathe YR formula which i do, so im keeping it.

top: razzledazzler, Cut a caper
bottom: innocence, Reel sexy,
not a single similarity between these on me. innocence is pretty and cute.

Thanks for sharing! I have a few questions, may have already been asked and I looked over it. How much are the hanging travel bags?

Also, the Glamourdaze lippie... does it compare to Offshoot or One of a Kind?

Thank ya sweets!

Fluidline
  • Feminine Edge - pink mauve with dazzle pearl
  • Catch My Eye - cool taupe grey with dazzle pearl
  • Little Black Bow - charcoal with dazzle pearl

Bag

  • Hanging Travel Bag

Sorry, no swatches. It was a mad house. A mad house I tell you! This is my 3rd event and the first time I scheduled to be at there at the 7pm opening time. There was already a line of about 20 people before me when I got there around 6:50pm. We were let in shortly after 7:10pm. The tester stations were already crowded by the time I got inside. I stuck with my plan of filling in nearly everything I thought I wanted on the form and handed it to a MUA. Then I went back and tried to swatch things. Each item from the collection had its own tester station - Glamour Daze, the 2 lipstick bags, the Viva Glam bag, the MAC exclusive face kits, the brush sets, the eye shadow duo kits, and even the hanger bag had a station. I focused on the Glamour Daze station.

I didn't get Beauty because it seemed too light for me after swatching, or Innocence because I didn't like how it swatched on my hand. Outrageously Fun was pretty on my hand, but didn't seem unique when swatched. I got it anyway because I like the color, and it really came to life on my lips when I swatched it at home. I agree that it's like a more pink Up The Amp, which I love. I plan to get a BU. On me, Dramatic Encounter is a dupe for Yung Rapunxel. Swatched on my hand, Dramatic Encounter has slightly more red in it than Yung Rapunxel. However, they look exactly alike on my lips. I did a side by side comparison to make sure. I'll add that Dramatic Encounter has none of the application issues of Yung Rapunxel and applies pretty opaque from the start. I also picked up Glamourdaze because it didn't appear brown on me. It's a very pretty muted mauve color when swatched on my hand. Unfortunately, I couldn't try it on when I got home because I was given Beauty instead. Noooo! So know I still need to make sure I get Glamourdaze. That's what I get for not checking my bag again before I left the store.

I swatched all of the EDES and Round Midnight is the only one I didn't get because it looked too dull. I skipped all of the original EDES, so I'm unable to make comparisons. I will say that the stand out colors to me are Ready To Party, Divine Blue, and Stylishly Merry. Stolen Moment is also very pretty and I'm excited to have Tall, Dark & Handsome because it's my first black eye shadow. Again, I didn't check my bag before leaving and found that I was given two Stolen Moments instead of one. Argh! A Natural Flirt and Evening Grey are nice, but not amazing. I may end up returning those two.

I didn't swatch the Fluidlines because I was automatically getting them. I love Fluidlines and they're beautiful looking at them in the pot, especially Feminine Edge. I want BUs of them all. I wasn't interested in the blushes so I didn't swatch them. I had to pick and choose since it was extremely crowded. I only got Flight of Fancy lipglass mainly because I don't have a purple like it. Pink Fade is pretty, but I wasn't interested. I wasn't able to swatch the other lipglasses. I don't know, I'm not really a fan of lipglasses in general because I find them to be too sticky. I think I'm going to be moving away from buying more of them unless the colors are truly unique to me.

What else... Oh yeah, I swatched the black glitter polish just to see it. I had no plans to buy it. I was just curious. A lady next to me said that she's a nail technician and thought the color looked "very 80's" and I started laughing. I also really like the travel bag even though I don't like leopard print! The neutral colors in the design work for me and I actually like that it's plastic to easily keep clean. The compartments are a nice size and the 2nd compartment is very large. The lace pattern is also transparent, so you'll be able to see what's in each compartment.

I skipped all of the sets. I'll take my chances at the CCO. The MAC exclusive face kits are very nice and I like the texture of the pillow top, but I would only use the lipstick and lipglass, so it wasn't worth it for me to get. I was also tempted by the lipstick bags, mainly the Lickable one since that lipstick is on my to-buy list, but I stayed strong. I did ask if they had the Cremesheen/Dazzleglass sets, but I was told that they wouldn't be available until Nov. 5th along with the pigment sets. It's just as well that they didn't have them available. I got serious sticker shock when I got my total at the register for the things I did get. I had to drink a glass of champagne *after* making my purchase!

I'm going to be up for a while, so I'll try to answer any questions. I'll also try to take swatch pics tomorrow if it's sunny.

or if one of those cups broked!! i would have been pissed "dont walk around the broken glass" really then everyone get out of the mini store!!! my mom says people walk in circles around the displays like dogs at the mac store hahahhahahaha
I heard a glass break at my event, but I was at the register at the time. I seriously had blinders on. I was so focused on getting my stuff and getting out of there that I wasn't paying much attention to anything else. I learned from the first event to not attend for fun. I'm going mainly to see the items before the official release and to buy what I want early. After that, I'm getting the heck out of Dodge.

The event was so fun!!!! i got to swatch all 8 of the EDES and Evening Grey, Round Midnight and Tall, Dark and Handsome were skips to me since I have Warm Thunder, Rich Core and Dark Dare. Divine Blue is gorgeous as well as Stolen Moment and will get them when they are up online. I swatched Innocence and Outrageously Fun and Outrageously Fun is pretty! I only got that one since I didn't get Innocence. For the lipglass, I really like Impossibly Sweet! It is the most gorgeous lipglass ever and it's so unique!!! For the fluidlines, Little Black Bow and Catch My Eye are so pretty!! I may end up with Little Black Bow since I really adore that one! Blushes, I ended up with I'm The One and I swatched both Easy Manner and Small Vanity as well. Both of those other blushes are also going to be ordered online! For the sets, I really like them! I'm glad to pre-order both Lavish Coral and Luxurious Pink Primed Out Look Lip Bags as well as Raven, Orpheus and Mystery Khol Powers! I even saw the sets that has the mini blushes and I think they are called the Paramour Pink and Quite Coral Divine Desire Kits. The Hanging Travel Bag looked so cute! If I ever remember to get it, I will so get it! This Holiday's collection is so amazing!!

!

For the ladies that attended the event today or have had the chance to play with the products, what are your initial thoughts on the blushes? (Preferably easy manner & small vanity) ..

I need to cut my list down but I'm having such a hard time! I really can't over do it with this collection, especially since I just caught up with the threads and learned the Strength collection + Apres Chic come out the same day! DAMN YOU MAC!

The bag is $40. Glamourdaze wasn't put in bag, so I can't compare. But I'm glad kimibos has swatches.

It would be nice if Mac let customers pre-order online. It would also let them know if a collection will be a hit or miss.

If the focus was on quality over quantity then they wouldn't have lost so much money. Holiday 2011 for Mac was beyond wack. That's their fault and now consumers pay because we have to break our necks just to be able to get to the products before all the quantities are gone.
Yep, I agree. A LOT of what came out in 2011 was beyond disappointing (I only bought a handful of items during 2011/early 2012), and it seems like they are finally improving their products (I haven't purchased from a holiday collection for at least three, but more likely four to five years), but I would bet that stock is going to be low for quite a while to make up for all their missteps in 2011.
