Off Topic but I just wanted to brag on the difference in quality between Nordstrom and MAC's live Chat. I chatted with MAC about their return policy's and they were so rude to me. But then I chatted with Nordies about trying to find an order number because I want to return the Red lipglass from the Hey Sailor collection (too orangy for me) which i bought back in June and they spent so long going through my orders to find it for me. The best! I wish all stores had customer service like Nordies.

I agree Nordstrom does have great customer service. I bought a watch over the summer and was having trouble tracking down extra links for it and they were very friendly and able to help me out and always called me back when they said they would.

I was looking at my (very) old and (very) loved 129 brush the other night and compared it to one of the 129 brushes from the Nordstrom's anniversary sale travel kit and they look soooo different. I thought, "Well maybe they just changed the design, mine is pretty old" but then I went to the counter and was looking at the brushes and they are same as my old one but the travel kit bristles are just taller and not as fluffy. BUT I will say that they are still very nice brushes, just not exactly like the big brushes.

Yes, the brush sets are machine mass produced and the quality definitely isn't the same. I typically save my money so that I can (slowly) buy full size brushes, but they're really cute this time! I'm going to try my luck and see if they hit the CCO. I don't think I like them enough to pay full price.

Have you guys seen this pic/video yet? I love how he did the "GlamourDaze" look and didn't use any of the GlamourDaze products haha, makes me happy cause I have most of what he used. Halloween here I come. haha.

I Finally placed my order with Nordies!!

here is the stuff i order i cant wait !!:

perfectly plush Mineralize brush set
all for glamour touch up kit in medium dark
pimped out lip bag set (pink one)
2 outrageously lipsticks
1 innocence lippie
1 glamour daze lippie
easy manner blush
I'm the one blush

The only thing Im missing is the purple lip set not in the nordstrom website

I'll have to stalk the mac website and order from them blah!

I got a question tho. If MAC and Nordies sell say a lipstick for the same price how does Nordies turn a profit? Does MAC take a hit when people order from other sites? Just curious b/c if that's the case then MAC has lost some money. How weird that they would do that.

I don't know for certain, but my guess is that they may purchase the product from MAC at wholesale prices and then sell them to the public at retail prices to make a profit. I don't think MAC takes a hit because they get their money either way.

The purple lip set along with the pigments aren't out yet. I believe they come out some time in early Nov. I can't remember the exact date, so I don't want to list the wrong one and confuse people.

Maybe Nordstrom acts as a distributor for MAC products, meaning that they purchase things like lipsticks, eye shadows, etc from MAC at a wholesale, discounted price. Then they are able to resell the products at retail price.

Pigments and lipglass sets aren't scheduled to be released until November 8th.

I don't really know the answer to this, but I do know that in Macy's (and therefore probably in all department stores), MAC is a separate vendor. This is why if you go to one of the other makeup counters in Macy's, you can pay for any clothes or other Macy's merchandise you're buying as well, but you cannot do this at a MAC counter. I'm sure this has something to do with the answer to your question, but I don't know enough about all the inner workings of the companies to give you a definite answer.

Note to MAC:
I love you, and your lipsticks, but they are NOT worth 20 Euro. Now that you've reached that mark with this collection, I will think hard about purchasing one. I will only buy one if I'm 100% sure that I like it and will wear it a lot. If I'm in doubt I will skip.
I'm still kinda liking Innocence and also Beauty (if applied lightly it seems nice), but not enough to feel comfortable spending 20 Euro on it. I'll get a Bobbi Brown lippie instead.

(not that those are cheaper, but that formula looks to die for)

True story. I don't think anything would surprise me at this point with this collection. Maybe something like "Free Purple Elephant with Purchase"...but nothing short of that is going to be much of a shock.

The press release said the collection would be up online 10/23, so unless the Pro site is updated in the next few hours or so, it looks like Pro might not be getting an early release after all
