I agree with geeko and aradhana. I would invest in the full size brushes for longevity and better quality. That's been my strategy so far. The travel brushes may last for a while, but they will eventually need to be replaced. You'll end up spending more money to replace them in the long run. The full size brushes have been known to last for many years if properly maintained. The brushes that I have I bought over time and as I needed them. It takes longer to build up my collection this way, but I'm not worried about having to replace the brushes later.
I have the Mineralize set, but I haven't used it yet. It's nice and I like it, but I got it specifically for the purpose of traveling. Not for regular, daily use. I have the full size 187, 130 and 286. The SE versions feel different from their full size counterparts. I can't explain it. They don't feel bad or anything, but they don't seem as nice as the full size brushes. The full size 130 is at my CCO.

w/geeko, aradhana & CartoonChic. First building a full-size brush supply and using the SE brushes adjunctively is a much more pragmatic approach to building a brush collection. I
wouldn't call it a waste of money, but in terms of full-size versus the SE brushes, you may find that first investing in the full-size brushes is just money well-spent. I included a few photos of the full sized brushes, SE Mineralize brushes from MAC Illustrated, The Perfectly Plush Mineralize set, and the set, less one brush that I loss from last year's holiday collection. For me the SE brushes have held up well to daily washing, of course as have the full sized brushes.
Good luck with your decision!

Need to catch up on this thread, but I am off to see my mom for the day! She is a fellow Scorpio! But I wanted to say that I took all my Divine Desire products out of the clutch and stored them in the brush set bag so that I don't have to keep handling the clutch...stored clutch in one of the satin gift bags until I have the opportunity to use it. The products fit perfectly in the brush bag and it still zips closed!
Great idea...and peace of mind!

Thank you, Medgal! I went to the CCO today and found the Perfectly Plush set so I decided to pick those up based on your comments on them. I'm really glad I didn't pay $50 for them b/c they are teen tiny and I would have been a bit stunned when they arrived in the mail. I don't care for the handles as they look like some cheapy set from the Dollar Store in 1987, but finances won over and I think they'll serve their intended purpose. I'm generally not a fan of cream products so I don't anticipate these brushes getting daily use. If I do end up liking the idea of them, though, I will just pass these on to my college age daughter since they would be better than anything she currently has.

So yeah I get the investing part, but honestly if I don't know how to use items well I hate to tie up so much money in them. Like I said I also ordered 4 NARS brushes yesterday so I'm definitely making an investment there. So excited to get those!

I have pain in my teeth/jaw/ear/head. I don't even know what it is, I was at the dentist a couple of times, three doctors were looking at it and everybody had a different opinion :( The pain is slowly getting better but I still don't feel good. At least I had a couple of hours of sleep last night, first time since almost two weeks that I slept longer than 1 hour or so, yay! Aww : ( well I really hope u feel better and hope u catch up on sleep!! Xoxo Thank you girls! You're all so sweet.:frenz:

It's TMJ. I've had it, it's TREMENDOUSLY painful. You can wear a night guard to keep from grinding your teeth and it will eventually go away. Or you can get a mild muscle relaxer if the pain is unbearable. Get well soon. I hate to see you suffer.

Did anyone get the pigments?

What's more necessary, the purple smoky set or the neutral set?

Mac-guy? Anyone?

Swatches?

(Back to the writing cave. Sigh. This novel, it's like giving birth.)

What other things are you after? I still need to pick up RTP, and maybe Warm Thunder from ED rather than the silver mini EDES!
