Alpine Bronze ought to look subtle but lovely on you and will totally even out any skin color stuff! Did you look good in Salute! but felt it was too light? Then you will LOVE Cozy Up. You look like an NC in your photo, but if you're NW, definitely check out Hot Chocolate too - that one's going to be a HG nude for deeper NW.

thanks for all the links super sleuth naydine!

sadly the colours look off on my monitor, at least if i compare them with what i imagined from liba's descriptions... the one i assume was brown or red looks purple....i guess with instagram you never know what filter as been applied.

Looks like the lip balms will be a skip for me. Yippee! More cash for other stuff! Not sure what to think re: the blushes either. Need more swatches to decide.

The PLW pencils look nice too but I can always get them later (or never, if MAC continues to release new LE collections so frequently

i find with instagram pics i try not to get too excited/dismayed about the colour i see, and just use them to compare the colours swatched within the picture....so if i know a particular colour is supposed to look a certain way, i mentally add/subtract the appropriate colour from all shades swatched....doesn't really work when you haven't seen any of the colours before....

on the other hand, i think liba mentioned one of the blushes had brightening qualities similar to forever marilyn, which was also very light when swatched...

Bear in mind differences of skin tone - what's light on dark skin won't be so light on lighter skin, what's dark on light skin may appear to be a medium tone on dark skin. Also, it's hard to tell which and how many factors could have altered the colors: the lighting, flash, the camera, compressing photos, different monitors, etc.

That's one reason i hate having to order before seeing and testing things. I know they'll look different IRL and on my skin, lips, eyelids, cheeks, etc. I didn't get to test Taste Temptations - although everything turned out fine in my order. I do have maybe 3 duds in my collection, though, from other orders.

Let me chime in and say these photos aren't all very accurate. The blush and the lipstick ones are really inaccurate, even without the flash - all the colors are much less whitish. The non-flash balm one is ok, still a little white - same with the MES. All the photos are missing a browner, warmer cast (not that any of the actual colors run brown).

It's a start though, and I'm sure there'll be more photos soon! Thanks for the detective work yet again, Naynadine!!
