MAC Strength Collection Discussion (December 2012)

Thanks! I intend to use it for contouring, do you think it's too glowy for that?
You have to really pack it on to see the glow, like when you swatch it with your fingers. It's more like a subtle glow when you apply it with a brush. However, the colour might be a problem for anyone darker than NC30. You would need to apply a lot, unless you want subtle contouring. I think it would be really great for fair skin, since it's not too grey or orangey and the glow add a more natural look to it. I still think I would have prefered a matte version of it, though. Right now I'm C25/NC25 and I had to apply a couple of layers with my MAC 109 to really see it. On darker skin (I will need to try it when I apply my selftanner this weekend), I wouldn't be surprised if the glow is more apparent, so maybe it could be used more like a nude blush? I'm sure it's gonna be too light to contour.
I'm about NC25 (I don't own MAC foundations), I guess it would work for me! However, my beloved 'Taupe' from NYX is pretty grey so I don't know if I'm going to like TS.

OK, I just called my closest Macy's, and was told that Strength was a MAC store and online exclusive, so I'm not taking any chances and will just order my lipsticks online when they finally get uploaded. So yay for site stalking? LOL

so i'm kind of surprised how little i'm getting from this collection. i've cp'd for pink pigeon and actually think i would favor fusion pink over party parrot. those and firm form are it! even AC isn't really calling my name, i think something's wrong....lol

Thanks, PrettyKitty this is very helpful.

I'll definitely be online Christmas Eve, but only after 9 PM or so. (Looking forward to our tradition of going out for Chinese food with the family. Hopefully I'll be mostly recovered by then.) I'll be sure to keep an eye out if it comes to that.
We use to do chinese TOOOOO!

Only the blushes are on my list and they're still 'maybes'. I've decided not to ask for a cp for Strength and Après Chic because I really need the swatches this time. I'm trying to spend less money on make-up.

We used to do Chinese food on Xmas Eve also. Then we started Thai food and now my mom just makes whatever cause she doesn't want to go out...unless we beg her.

I tried Taupe Shape again with the side of my kabuki, it seems to pick up more color. It's still not very dark, but if you like your contouring to be more natural, I think it's gonna be a really great product! What I like is that it's not orangey at all, without being grey either. Grey doesn't look good on me.

You're welcome!

There are a bunch of lipsticks posted in the LE section, but I don't know where they're from. I think they were permanent shades that have been changed to LE.

I just noticed that too. I know they were permanent yesterday because I was looking at Coconutty! Maybe they are adding them to a "Going, Going Gone" section?

I guess that sort of makes sense but the SA told me yesterday that they would get them but not for a while (I assume she meant sometime next year).

The MUA and my Macy's counter told me today that she had the collections in the back and that they were beautiful! So, at least in my area (South Fl) the collections will be on both counters and stores!

Yes, it would! Then you wouldn't already have a similar shade! :)
You're right. :haha:

I like the sound of that! I haven't tried any Nyx blushes before. What's the quality like?

I have been stalking a whole bunch of websites for the strength collection. Boo hoo, it's not up anywhere. So I called up the closest pro store and they told me they had all of the lippies. I put three of them on hold. Can't wait to get them first thing in the morning.

NYX blushes are pigmented and easily blendable. I have to say I rarely use them (I have sooo many blushes) but I really like them. And I use Taupe everyday for contouring and I'm almost done with it! I've never used up a blush before and I already have a BU so I think this says enough?:p
