I asked a MUA at the mac store today about getting an invite to the event party for this launch. She said you don't need an invite, just call and make an appointment. But then why were others getting cute little invitations with a little coupon for one "sweet candy heart tin"? I'm a little confused, can anybody help me out here? :anyone:  thanks!

There's a difference between an event party and a pre-launch event. Only certain level stores do pre-launch events.

I always ask to be put on the list for preparties. Mac never sends me any mail. Just make its the launch party and not the makeovers the weekend the collection comes out.

I know what you mean!! I'm making extra sure not to buy colours now that might be similar to ones in the archie collection ... but I may have caved and bought a purple pressed pigment...lol!

My wish list for this collection changes all the time (does anyone else find this happens?!) but as of right now:
- Betty light purple pigment
- All the Betty Lipsticks

The pearlmattes are super cute but I already have a physicians forumla "Happy Booster" ,which from the pictures looks rather similar (but if I finish it before February then I can buy a pearlmatte =P)

Mac are doing a brilliant job of creating hype for this collection and I can see is bound to sell out everywhere asap!

I wish Australia had events as fun as the USA, we only seem to get them for a few collections through out the year. Im looking forward to hearing more depth of the colour story and perhaps picking up a pearlmatte from this because I dont have one yet. I know I will be getting some lipsticks, because I always do!

I kept an eye out for the MM collection and just hours after I got the email that it was launched, it was sold out (online) of anything I would have bought. I don't have a MAC store near me.

What's my best chance of getting this? I can't pre-order at a store. Do they take pre-order by phone? Is there a way to find out the night before it goes on sale online and just wait at the compu for the minute it goes up?

This will launch at every location, just like MM did. Not all locations take pre-orders. Some do, and some don't. They each make up their own rules. The only way to find out when it goes up is to either stalk the site, or stalk this site.

Mac Adventura store in Miami will be having a huge three day industry make-over event for this collection when it actually launches. No pre-launch party event this time around!!!! Disappointed however the bright side, I get to use my Mac E-card on-line guilt-free.

That's what my store did for Marilyn and it was mayhem.

I asked a MUA yesterday if they would have an event and she wasn't sure if this would be the big spring event or not. She wasn't very enthused or knowledgeable about the collection. I feel like most of us here on Specktra know so much more about collections than MUAs most of the time.

We definitely are more informed and knowledgeable and I think that may annoy and frustrate the MUAs as they have privacy policies that they have to adhere to. I think they also forget about the items at the advance workshops they attend as it may be a lot to keep track of.

Do you live close to a Macy's, Nordies or Bloomies that has a MAC Counter? If you do, they will usually hold stuff for you, sometimes they will want a credit card to hold it. This works best if you buy product from that counter and the SA knows you. IF not, the best way is to watch the thread, then order by phone from a Pro store when it launches on Pro. 3rd best option, stalk the website...

None of the artists have been to update yet to learn about this or any other collection that comes out after january. So unless there are artists that follow specktra or any senior artist on FB or IG, no one knows about this collection yet. Please keep that in mind.
