MAC Strength Collection Discussion (December 2012)

From all the different answers I thought Mac counters wouldn't be getting this collection. I called my Macy's Mac yesterday and they says not until 1/3. Wanted to double check so went into the counter and asked my go to MUA, she pulled out the book and double checked and also said 1/3. This collection is so confusing?

Counters are NOT getting this collection. If i were you I'd call a store and order from them immediately, before they sell out.

Does anyone who have the original party parrot and already have the new one?

I know temptalia changed her studio lighting and everything, but the swatches look SO different colorwise. The first one is a bright neon lightish coral pink whereas the review she just did for strength, the party parrot swatches looks much darker.


Actually, I just noticed she changed the original iris apfel review party parrot and pink pigeon swatches to the ones she just did for the strength collection, but the original swatch where the color is much lighter, shows up on google search still.

My original Party Parrot is from Iris Apfel and my BU is from Strength. I didn't want to swatch my BU, but the colors seem to be the same to me in the tube.

On another note, I'm surprised by how much of the original I've used when compared to my brand new BU. I feel proud of myself for using so much. Now I feel justified in getting another BU. Yay for being inadvertently enabled.

Case in point, this morning after getting yet another E-mail Ad from MAC I thought, why not...I ordered the All Woman Eye Shadow Quad, Warm Companion Lipstick (blame prettypackages for that one) and Fireside MES because I was drawn to the colors. I know I said I was done

I love your lipstick case. I'll need to revamp my setup in 2013--sooner than later...in addition to the lippies from Apres Chic & Strength, I just got two new Chanel lippies! See ya at the soup kitchen partner!

If you've cracked the code, then please let me know what it is. I just chalk it up to a combination of indecisiveness and poor impulse control.

I need to cut back in 2013. While getting together the swatches of Pink Pigeon, I've come to the realization that I may have too many lipsticks. The case where I keep my MAC, NARS and Revlon lipsticks is overflowing. I need to find something else to keep them in now.




Maybe I spoke too soon. It doesn't seem like too many in the photo.

As much as I love CYY and PiPi.....QS is still my favorite out of the 3

Quick Sizzle is also my favorite out of the three. I don't have a BU for it because I thought it would be close enough in color to Girl About Town. Big mistake. That was before I understood the effect that different finishes can have on the wear, feel and look of lipsticks.

Not sure if this helps anyone. My photo is not color accurate. My camera phone didn't pick up the red tones in the lipsticks properly, but you can still see the differences between them.

Try it with Temperature Rising if you have that, or if not, with Entertain Me...
It looks like All Woman is the quad with the better pigmentation. But I really like that mauvy pink color in Inner Strength quad...

I don't have Temperature Rising and my Entertain Me is still misplaced. But those bright orange pencils would make Party Parrot look like I'm wearing a glow stick on my lips.

The big spring collections have always come out in March in Europe, so I guess Archie will too.

Yep, that's the unfortunate truth. Strength in Feb and Archie in March. On one hand, I'd love to get everything as soon as possible, but on the other hand, I don't mind postponing/distributing the spending. Just hoping that this spring we won't get like 4(+) collections per month!

Just came back from the store....grabbed another PaPa...then a MUA came up and asked if there was any left....only 1. Glad I got my hands on it!!!!!!!!!!! AP was sold out and so was FF. But they did still have PiPi in stock and I think maybe a couple more SW.
