MAC Strength Collection Discussion (December 2012)

So glad to see some of you getting your things. I ordered some things from the NYC store on 12/24 and I'm in California--still nothing. It's been well over a week and it's being sent from a live store, so maybe their pickup was off too. I'm trying to be patient (not my best quality!). I wonder when I should call to see?

I just ordered another because I'm all out.  Happy to when it arrives, unless someone else has one to swatch before then.  It's very pretty and so worth having--I've only ever completely used up two pigments and they were Chocolate Brown & Pink Bronze!

Of course it's the two that you've gone thru that they're DCing!

You might look at the swatches of the pro scuplting powders on blogs. I don't think there is anything identical, but maybe something in the neighborhood?

I got all my things thanks to yazmin, tomorrow I'll try taupe shape but I def love the 3 lipsticks I got, strong woman pink pigeon and party parrot..... Then in Vegas I went and got my sister in laws pink pigeon and got hot chocolate which looks great on me, they had a lot of stuff there so maybe check w the pro store in Vegas in town square. I would of got stuff for others but I just arrived for my trip and I had to spend on my stay

PM me if you are still trying to sell this!  (or swap) This happens with most of the mattes for me (and the mattenes as well).  What works for me is to use a balm first (I like the Tendertones, but I am sure good old petroleum jelly or whatever you like would work fine) then wait--I usually do face make up and brush teeth and give the balm time to sink in.  Then, I dry the lips really good.  If they were flakey to start with, I exfoliate before the balm (I use a Paula's Choice product, but honestly some coarse sugar or salt mixed with olive oil would work fine too).   After I exfoliate (if needed) then condition with Tendertone or other balm of choice, then let that absorb, I blot dry, then apply Prep and Prime lip and wait about 30 seconds for it to get "tacky."  Then apply your lippy.  Much less flaking and dryness now!

You could try using prep and prime before applying the lipstick. I got one and it is wonderful! Makes the color last longer, goes on smoother and does not chap my lips either (naturally dry). Give it s shot

Yay! MAC didn't waste any time getting my Embrace Me lip liner to me I got it today When I'd received my original order, I'd gotten just an opened liner box along with my lippies inside the infamous black box but CS took care of it

I don't like it either and I'm about NC22 right now. It's just not a flattering shade; it's a bit muddy even lightly applied. I have far more flattering neutrals so this one won't end up getting worn. It's going back in the morning.

the chocolate ladies in the Firm Form, whew you all look fabulous!!!! i'm starting to get a little jealous i let mine go!

Also Party Parrot and Pink Piegon imo are the winners of this collection, along with Firm Form as an honorable mention. I'm going to end up eating my Party Parrot bc it's so awesome. lol!

I thought I'd love it; I really liked how it looked on Christine at T and I'm just a bit lighter than she is. I have a lot of neutrals (Douceur, The Perfect Cheek, Blushbaby and Prism) and bronzy orange type shades (Warm Soul, Fresh Honey, Torrid, Liberté, Melba, Peachykeen, etc) that I love and wear a lot and it looked like Poised was almost be a hybrid between them - a warm bronzy-orange neutral.

It's not - at least on me. It just looks dirty on me. It's not flattering at all. It's not that it's too warm for me - I'm not sure what's wrong with it. I just don't like it. I would try before buying if you can. I waited to try Alpine Bronze in person because I wasn't sure about that one but I thought Poised was a safe bet.
