I'm really liking just about everything I've seen from the Veronica side of this collection. I think the only thing I'm interested in from Betty's side is the Quad. My final decision will be made whenever the color story appears.

so between these dmn price hikes n more money less makin it paychecks (thnx fiscal cliff) im a lippie collector but that purple lip face chart is makin me wanna add that quad of shadows to the mix!! hmmm...i normally prefer my palettes over singles so im hopin it can be shades i dnt already have BUT riddle me this....whats the hype around the pearlmattes? whats so special about em n what are they used for? what are they compared too? i wanna see if its worth addin to my list....
They're basicly like beauty powders, but without the shimmer. And some have a bit more colour so that jellyfish like me can wear it as a blush. I'm not a fan of em.

What is it about them that you don't like? I don't have any Pearlmattes but I love the two BPs I have (PIP and FM). So if Pearlmattes are similar to BPs there's a strong chance I'll like them too, provided the shade is right. The Archie pearlmattes look promising on the pics, shadewise anyway.

I wanted to get the Vera ones but the dark shade took up too much of the pan so I skipped them. I remember liking the texture when I swatched them in the store but that's my only experience with the stuff.

There seems to be a red lipgloss for Veronica and no sign of the bluey pink Veronica lipgloss we'd seen a photo of.

Well, for an all over glow, i prefer the magically cool powder (need to stock up before it's gone). I feel the pearlmattes have too much colour for all over. And for a cheek highlight, i prefer the shimmery glow that the beauty powders and MSFs have. I'm obsessed with shell pearl, by candlelight and redhead. And if i wanted a soft cheek highlight, I'd use a BPB or MSF with more colour-petticoat, triple fusion, stereo rose...

Everyone that is panicking over the price, I have noticed the magazines always lists the products fifty cents more than the real price. It was that with Marilyn Monroe and so on.

Damn.

I guess considering the cost of lipsticks from most other brands you see in department stores, $17 still isn't terrible, especially for special packaging. My bigger concern is how much more frequently we're seeing price hikes. Isn't there supposed to be another price hike (on their regular products) sometime soon, too? I don't really buy makeup from other brands often enough to notice price changes, but has anyone noticed if this is something happening across the board? I wouldn't be surprised of it is!

That being said, I agree that if it turns out to be $17 for these lippies, it isn't going to change my list too much. I've already decided that this year I need to try to stick to only buying makeup that is not even close to anything I already have, so a $.50 surprise increase isn't a huge deal since I'm not planning on getting much. We'll see how I do with that once the collection is online and I'm staring at that "Add To Cart" button...

Thanks! I think I can take them off my list. Wooooot!

Correction: I hope I can take them off my list. My common sense goes out the window with LE stuff.

More than likely the magazine listed the price fifty cents more like they always do... As they did with Marilyn. It will probably be 1650 for a lipstick.

That's why I said "if it turns out to be $17" but it's good to know the MM lippies were listed at $17 in magazines too and ended up being $16.50!

Yeah back when special packaging was 1550 all mags listed the price at 16. I don't know why that is. Even if they really were 17 I would buy them because I loved the Archie comics as a kid AND the packaging really IS special this time haha!
