MAC x Archie's Girls (Betty & Veronica) Collection Discussion (February 2013)

I often wonder whether I'm paying more for MAC as a regular customer though because of the lower prices for pro's. I'm not interested in this collection, so I don't care when the release is. Just focused on the prices.

Most major cosmetic companies offer PRO discount programs to encourage those of us who are makeup artists and who generally purchase way more products than the average customer. Also MAC was started as a cosmetic line for professional use, so I seriously doubt prices have anything to do with the discount given to Pros. I never understand how so many people complain about MAC prices when they are pretty cheap compared to other department store lines, and the quality is generally way better.

I don't have a Pro card and buy online. I would be pretty angry with Mac and buy about 99% less (at full price even!) if regular customers were given no shot at new collections before pros snapped up all the most desirable stuff and at a discount. A collection like this especially seems geared toward personal, not professional use.

I am a professional MUA and would use many of the products in this collection for my kit, although I would depot them from the containers. If they offer the discount on the collection to PRO's then why would we not use it in our kit?

Aww lame hope you get them soon. I have WMS and I just cannot get it to work for me. Betty bright looks gorgeous so thats back on my list. There goes my paycheck....

I imagine as a MUA you can also say that you have the latest trends on hand in your kit. I would be impressed if an independent MUA could recreate a recent look to the "T".

I'm waiting on one more but even if I went now they won't process them until after Feb 1 and then once it goes thru it could take 7-21 days to get the $$$$ it sux I wanted mine sooner too. I'll try to save some of iit for the April collections tho!!!

I called the store that is having the pre party he said I don't need it to get in I'm on the list ( I made him check for me!). this mall is super busy I dont think they are even going to send out invites ;( I really wanted one too for my scrapbooking! and I want my photo with Archie n the candy or whatever the invite has on it. ;/

Hi, I just wanted to weigh in since you are speaking about my listing. I do appreciate the compliments but I wanted to correct you about the pricing! The retail price for the lipglosses here in Canada is $20 cdn and we have a 13% sales tax. Yep...I said 13%! That brings retail here in Canada to $22.60 cdn which is about $23.50 USD as our dollar is worth more. So my price of $29.95 USD is not even close to double the price. It is $6.50 above retail and out of that I have to pay EBay final value fees of 10% plus PayPal fees as well! Just wanted to clarify.

Here they are lovelies! My store hasn't yet gotten the pearlmattes in either so disappointing! This was the best I could do being that there were 4 other girls trying to look at the collection at the same time. First column on the left, top to bottom: Designer Purple Petrol Blue Pearlglide Intense Eyeliners. They are so much prettier in person and the shimmer is more obvious. Second column, top to bottom: Girl Next Door - you need this in your life. that is all. Betty Bright - more pink than the promo pics suggest. BEAUTIFUL color. definitely the stand out color in the entire collection (to me at least) Daddy's Little Girl - even with all the fuchsia/hot pinks I have, it's still unique! Ronnie Red - definitely a blue based red. I don't have Absolute Power, so I can't say if its close enough that you could easily skip this one. Boyfriend Stealer - so so so so sheer. it took 7 swipes to get it as opaque as it is in the picture. on my lips it was barely there. debating taking it off my list. Third column on the right: Stay Sweet lipglass - much too milky for my taste but a pretty color. Lighter than snob, not as loud as Saint Germain. Kiss & Don't Tell - similar to VG Nicki, but more coral. I have VG Nicki & like this much better. Mall Madness - amazing. hands down my favorite lipglass in this collection. the different color glitters in it make it unique (at least to what I have in my collection). Feelin So Good - very very opaque, really nice dark plum color. it's more opaque than Boyfriend Stealer, so worn together it would make BS alot better. If anyone has questions feel free to ask! I'm about an NC30 for reference. My hand may be a bit darker though :/
