Re: the Hourglass powders: I've ordered 2 of these - in Ethereal Light and Mood Light - I love Hourglass products (like Kate, not the liquid lipsticks - ack! They dried my lips like a prune!!) - but the eye shadows, primer and foundation are beautiful, as are the lipsticks!

These appealed to me right off because they're a compact - I love my MAC Play it Proper, but these seem to have a little something extra. My order shipped yesterday so with any luck I'll have it Monday or Tuesday. I'll let you know how I like them!
Ladies, I would love to know more about these Hourglass powders. You know, as long as we're OT :)

LOL!!! I will report back when I receive mine - I need to check to see when they're due. I've also been using O'Keeffe's Hard Working Hands that I get at Home Depot, a cuticle balm by Badger, which is also excellent. And finally, a cuticle/hand balm by Dr. Watkins that comes in a couple of different scents. It's a bit more 'oily' but I use it at night and it really helps my hands. I need to dig my argon oil out - I had stopped using it this past summer. Forgot I had it! Shadow, I'm going to try the eye thing........ And I'm a total product junkie too......

I know many like it but i could not do any hemp product. They all ended up in a trash can. Smell was terrible
I once again absolutely agree. I used it 2 or 3 times but I could not deal with the smell either. I also tried their Almond hand cream but I didn't find it to be as creamy as the L'occitane.

Shadow, I do something very similar at night, but hadn't thought about the heating pad - I too cannot wear gloves (or socks) the whole night - drives me nuts. The hardest thing for me is during the day - I wash my hands ALL the time, and don't always remember to put lotion back on. Or when I do, 10 minutes later I'm having to wash my hands again....it's a never-ending cycle. I too am more religious about it at bedtime.

I'm hoping that my vitamin supplements will help as well - I've had a bad problem with peeling of my thumb and pointer nails on both hands....not sure why - this has never been an issue before....the other nails are fine. I chalk it up mostly to the fact that those nails are most susceptible to abuse ;).

I also love Butter London Holiday Handbag cuticle oil - I keep it in my purse. It smells divine!
I haven't tried their cuticle oil. I'm not sure why as I love most of their products such as Melt Away Cuticle Eliminator and Nail Foundation. I think I'll get the Cuticle Miracle kit that has the cuicle oil and the Melt Away. I guess when I bought the Melt Away either I didn't see this set or they didn't do this set then. It's a much better buy at $25 for both as opposed to $19 each.

Did you see this collection? I really like the warm tones.

bis - I didn't buy the pink RAV. It looks bright and pigmented to me. Or are you refering to Fantasque RA?

Michelle - I have not bought the quad yet. I'm just more into pink lipsticks and blushes at the moment, so I'm not in a hurry to get a new eyeshadow palette.

I have splitting nails too, my nails are so weak and brittle. I use OPI matte envy, recommended by bis, and it makes my nails stronger. Lately with the dry weather, increased hand washing, and laziness in applying a fresh coat, I have a few fingernails that have split again.

I just received my highlighter. I am in love. It is a little too gold for me but who cares. It looks so pretty.

can someone compare highlighter to nars albatross if you have both?
I'll swatch them when I get home! albatross is not as fine and it is a white gold base with gold shimmer. The Chanel one is a light pink base that is super finely milled with a gold sheen. Shimmer vs. Sheen. Albatross looks frostier and more noticeable. Its beautiful but not as lovely glow as the Chanel. Hth!

Aw, we both bought our first Chanel lipstick on the same day! I bought my first one three yesterday: Rouge Coco in Mademoiselle, Rouge Coco in Chalys, and Rouge Allure in Seduisante. Chalys in particular is so incredibly beautiful! I don't have another color quite like it. I think I'm in love! Tempted to get a few more shades, but since I just bought these, I think I need to use them a bit before diving in and spending another $34 per lippie

Sweet, jealous of your three! I'm tempted to buy another one tomorrow, I just can't decide what I fancy.

hey lovelies, just want to say, this thread is soo fun and awesome!!!! I can never ever have conversations like this elsewhere, people always think I am mad coz a red lipstick is a red lipstick to them.BUT for the ladies and gents here, every lippie has its own nuance and as a collective bunch, we get gaga over colours!! ESPECIALLY if its from Chanel!! hahahahha, I am so giggly-happy right now over this.

I made sure to buy two different formulas so I could see if I liked the way one went on more than the other. Maybe do that? It would at least narrow down your options

And my enabler appears...lol. So what makes this highlighter so amazing? Is there any other highlighter from another brand that it can be compared to?

Hmm, I am going to check and get back to you...I guess for me, it is the gold/pink undertone that seems to work with my light oliveish skin/rosy cheek complexion...I find Guerlains hightlighters, and some nars are too yellowish on me...this one somehow just makes my skin more....lovely. It is so finely milled too that it blends in without being too glittery....

Fabulous!!! I completely agree...I love Spectra as a whole because yes, you can chat ENDLESSLY ABOUT THE JOYS OF Cosmetics...and people I know IRL don't get it either!!

I agree that CHANEL products are extra special too!!
