Just for you... I tried to wash some LE brushes while I had (<- key word) some energy. I was actually going to wash ALL of them but started with my faves (the 167/168 SE/ SH are my super duper favorites)That's right. It's a part of my bedtime routine, just like flossing & brushing![]()

Dodged a bullet didn't ya?Last night we were going to bed and my hubby noticed my AG pile of goodies...he said, "Hey, you didn't tell me about your Archie stuff!" THEN he said "MAC knows how to market to you. I would never think a cosmetic company would release a collection based on Archie."He just knows how much I love Archie.
Then after that he asked the inevitable: "How much did that set you back? I know it was a lot!" I said "I can't buy any makeup for a year now" and left it at that. Though I am still curious about that NARS powder......![]()
Yes and now that I'm on the computer he is sitting on my mouse pad! (or.. half of it lol)Honeymilk - awwwwwwwwwwwwwwso cute!![]()
Excellent overview Elegant---------moreover you selflessly took the time to do it. You're really good people!!!Someone earlier mentioned that they didn't understand what the pearlmattes were supposed to do. I'm going to try to take a stab at some explanation of the different powders. Maybe MAC-Guy could do a much better job than me in offering explanation if he wants. He is certainly amazingly knowledgeable! Or anyone else.
With all the different powders, they each kind of have their own task. Of course it will depend on personal preference, but in general:
Pearlmattes are very finely milled, some beautiful pearl base which helps soft focus the skin, some skin correcting color. Can be a light blush, but in general a light veil over the skin. Think of it as a beautiful silk stocking over the skin, you can still see the skin but now it has this slight very sheer soft covering.
Highlighters - Generally, they add a soft sheen with light reflections in them making the skin look lifted & lovely. They are wonderful when used in a "c" around the outer part of the eye area. Chanel's highlighters are almost too gorgeous looking in the pan to even use, but theirs are very very light, sheer barely-there accents. Other highlighters can be middle of the road white/yellow/champagne/pink cast light enhancers for the skin. Then there are the "workhorse" highlighters, they are a bit heavier but they camouflage, cover redness, spot correct, help dark circles, deep wrinkles/recesses in the skin. I use Laura Geller's baked highlighter with this awesome paddle applicator - its a major workhorse highlighter & I absolutely LOVE it! Beauty Powders are usually very soft finely milled & are skin-enhancing barely there second skin powders. Just a nice soft boost with some subtle hint of color.
Powders like the new NARS Reflecting Powders are strictly for light reflection on the skin giving your face a soft-focus, veiled complexion, flawless skin appearance. They are extremely light weight soft barely there powders with no color. Great for photographs
There are high-tech kind of powders like MAC's Elude. Extremely finely milled, It enhances the complexion while offering an edgey tonal whitening and extreme flawless veiling of the complexion.
Skinfinishes - like the mineral skinfinishes are powders that you buff into the skin, having more color but also highlight with more of a metallic or pearl sheen.
Contour Powders - they are like Spanx in powder form, creating visual angles, sucking things in, thinning planes of the face out, making other features stand out more.
Then there are the general powders of medium softness & opacity that you fluff over the face that can offer any number of face coverages.
All general & by no means complete, but its been asked a bit so I thought this might serve as a general over-view
Way too cute. Actually, I think he's guarding your brushes!Just for you... I tried to wash some LE brushes while I had (<- key word) some energy. I was actually going to wash ALL of them but started with my faves (the 167/168 SE/ SH are my super duper favorites)
Yeah, NOPE! This kitty always, always has to be in the middle of whatever I'm doing. I kept moving him down the towel but he won't budge anymore. That was my cue to stop for now
(and excuse the icky tile counters! This bathroom is going to be a complete gut-job)

Oh Gracie that's just horrid...so sorry this happened. Give granddad lots of TLC. Best wishes to you and your family.I was really excited about everything from this collection, but then my grandad was run over by a car yesterday evening. He's a vicar and was going home from a day spent visting all of his more elderly parishioners. I feel sick. He's been sent home from hospital, but has a ton of bruises, grazes and now stitches! The woman who did it just phoned up my grandma, said who she was, then hung up. Sorry to rant, but I'm so mad!
I have cheers my dear and I love it!Can anyone pls tell me how they are loving their pigments so far. These will be my first piggies. I know I am getting Cheers My Dear for sure. I am thinking hard about Magic Spell and Black Poodle but I am scared of too dark bases!!! I am going to NS in the morning to make my hopefully final haul unless I attend event on the 15th.I tend to go overboard on lipglosses however I realized I need to work on that when I tried Flight of Fancy (at the store) for the first time yesterday and I had two un-opened ones at home. I already recvd online order for Flatter Me, Prom Princess, MM, YH Mirror
And what fell into your cart when you ran this check elegant???I just checked & it worked for me. It says not available to Pro members, but that is the only exclusion I see. Hmmmm
Same here! that's all I am waiting for! Seeing it in the store haha.I can't wait to get my hands on the Ronnie pallette. I love the purple tones. I will to see the collection tomorrow.
