MAC Fashion Sets 2013 Collection (April 2013)

Searched all over Walgreens and could not find Maybelline Mirrored Plum just Mirrored Mauve and Plum Luster. Recalled someone said they saw it alone on an end cap. I went looking on the end caps and still couldn't find it. (I don't buy drugstore makeup anymore and it was like a dang maze. Parts of brands were in random spots.) I was getting ready to leave and decided to turn back and check one more endcap. Found the LE Maybelline display! Apparently they had split this collection up putting the lipsticks and nail polishes with the standard collection and giving the gloss and blush it's own space. I grabbed 2 of 3 Mirrored Plums b/c I figured I didn't want to go back if I loved it. I also picked up Striking Peach. I had a very hard time walking away from Fiercly Fuschia, but decided to hold off until I knew if I even liked the formula. LOL Slapped it on when I got home and snapped a quick pic.




The gloss definitely has a fruity smell, but it goes away. The doe foot wand was kind of awkward because it's longer than MAC's and is a little bent. Definitely less sticky than MAC. I don't have the real Heroine gloss yet so I can't compare the two color-wise.

I kind of wish I would have gotten the Fuschia gloss instead of the Peach b/c I just saw swatches online to show the Peach being sheer. I don't really need that since it won't show up on my lips. I'm just ready for Spring and bright colors I think and it's hard not to buy up the vivid products. The Mirrored Plum will be fun to try with Heroine liner if I ever get it. In the meantime I'll be trying it with NYX Purple Rain.

I even got candy yum yum (1st edition) weeks after it launched and was sold out everywhere from Nordies. Ya never know. LOL

Looks lovely on you! I actually prefer this over Heroine l/g. It's less sticky and leaves a nice subtle stain on my lips after it rubs off. So pretty!

I'm planning to have a makeup garage sale when all this snow is melted. I use to feel like I should get one of every item in a collection but I've gotten more selective and wise about it. I think it started around after Heavenly Bodies. I have three MES that don't get used and I'm going to sell them to get new permanent lipsticks. I want to be surrounded by makeup I actually use. SIGH.

Oh btw, I called my nordies to see if they are doing a presale for fashion sets. the lady said, i'm the product specialist and I haven't heard that yet, plus it comes out at the end of the month. I chuckled and said ok... Under my breath, I said I'll call Thursday am. I called the downtown store and they are doing presales, but did know the collex is out on Thursday.

With Spring in bloom it really could be allergy related. It immediately smelled fruity to me, but not so bad I could taste it. After dinner I have a nice stain like Ocean286 says. I'll probably grab the Fuschia and a bright orange I saw in the perm collection. I'll check CVS though so I can see if there's a BOGO. Walgreens didn't have any kind of discounts going, but I didn't want risk it selling out with all the trouble you ladies have been having finding it. I was lucky to find it on my first stop.
