We've been talking about how Maybelline's Mirrored Plum gloss is very similar to MAC's Heroine Lipglass but has anyone checked out Maybelline's Brazen Berry lipstick? It sort of resembles Heroine lipstick. Of course the finish is different though.

I'll be honest and say I swatched very quickly because I was already frustrated that a MA told me the Extra Dimension collection was on counter & when I got there was told otherwise. What I remember is that Silly swatched the best - definitely te most buttery eyeshadow of the 4. Heroine was 2nd. Ablaze and Embrace Me were last but weren't particularly bad. I didn't think any of them to be chalky enough to be unusable!

Want to know something funny? I have Brazen Berry l/s and have yet to open it and wear it.
I saw it in KMart and just had to buy it. Anything purple always catches my eye. It's so beautiful in your swatches. I'm going to find it (I have too many lipsticks) and open it and wear it. I hope it looks the way it swatches on you. Tx.

I do indeed. When I get home tonight, I will swatch both (if I can find them...lol) and take a photo. My camera phone takes horrible photos, but I will try. If not tonight, tomorrow then.

My sister has brazen berry and i have heroine. So i stole hers to compare for you. These were taken with my phone but u can tell they are different...

ETA: they were both 2 swipes and Brazen Berry is more shinier and lets my skin show through the color. i sitll like heroine waaay better.

Thank you for doing this luvlydee. I need to really clean out my lipsticks and get some sort of order with them. I agree with you. Heroine is way better.

Thanks a lot luvlydee! The tone of the shades are very similar but as expected, the finish is different. That matteness of Heroine is just so lovely. I think Brazen Berry would be perfect for the person that doesn't like the matte finish or think the color of Heroine is too 'bold'.My sister has brazen berry and i have heroine. Brazen Berry is pretty! I was going to buy it yesterday but there was only 1 left and it was obviously used (not just tested. the point was completely worn down like it had been used several times!).

Eww! That just grosses me out! I just don't understand how people can do that; you don't know where that lipstick has been or who else has tested it! I see people put testers on their faces without sanitizing them first (especially at Sephora on busy days) and it makes me gag. Oh the germs.......

I've seen women at sephora applying mascara straight out of the tube. Now that's beyond gross
Fortunately there are enough online retailers that carry Maybelline and other drugstore brands where you can get those colors, that way you know what you buy won't be previously open or tested. Especially with Ulta, there's an option to return them in store if they don't work for you.
