I won't get Raspberry Swirl I won't I won't. Darn liba, you have it trying to claw its way back on my list. I am definitely getting Devils Food after seeing the swatch on T.

Skip both PM's.

Maybe Glace balm.

I think I am actually skipping the PP, except I could get the dreaded skipper's remorse for Eclair. Do we think a PP will sell out quickly? I am betting not.

I dunno, but it's on my list for the moment. I'm hoping it will be a bit like Nocturnal Instincts tonally (even though it's a lot more purple). Finger crossed I'll get to swatch it for myself before I have to decide.

LW is brighter in tone than NI, by maybe 30% - what keeps it from looking too neon is the subtle translucence (not sheer, just multilayered), but there is definitely a bit of a glow to it. It won't look like clown lips or headlamps bright, but that's mostly due to the shade (the color), not the tone (the brightness), if that makes sense.

It was very lovely - i see what the big deal was!

Next up, the Pearlmattes. First of all, the white border is overspray, and really chintzy overspray - it was gone in one swirl. This is a good thing - it's too white for even my skin tone and would totally look chalky. The rest of the colors go all the way through.  Pink Buttercream looks VERY similar to Veronica's Blush, so if you have that one and are trying to save money, you could skip it. The little periwinkle leaves are a bit small to pick up spot color, unless you used a teeny brush. Blended all together it really is very nice - maybe even a little smoother and less shimmery than VB. I'd say it's a tiny bit superior to VB just for that, so if you missed that one, you can definitely make up for it here. It's a great overall brightener on my skin tone and I think it will have much less chance of looking ashy on darker complexions than VB. In for a Treat, on the other hand, I loved so much more than the Betty pearlmatte, which I didn't even buy. It looks extremely natural and there's enough of the red concentrated in the center that you can definitely vary how much color you can pick up, so more versatile than PB too. This is going to be the one most people are going to go for, I think, just because it's a more neutral color, but they're both gonna fly right out the door for sure.  Just for a quickie, the nail polishes have a really nice texture and application. However, you can dupe the blue with the pastel blue from China Glaze Avant Garden - Fade Into Hue. They're very very close, although the MAC might be a touch more of a jelly finish. Meanwhile, Pistachio Creme is a glorious bluish mint. I am so tempted to get it, but it looks like China Glaze is coming out with a very similar color in their upcoming Sunsational collection called Keeping It Teal. The big difference is KIT is supposed to be a straight neon jelly, so I am figuring it will be a bit brighter and from the few pictures out there, it might be a bit more green. If you're trying to save bucks, then you could probably hold out for CG - it is a third of the price, after all… I might break down and get Pistachio Creme, though - it's an eye popper. The one I KNOW I will get is Confectionary, which is a gorgeous almost jelly, with a hint of purple opalescence that's really subtle- hard to tell if it's actually opalescence or just the subtle way the color is mixed. There are a lot of pale pink polishes out there, but Confectionary brings something special to the table. MAC is great at coming up with unique neutrals in their nail polishes. Essie tries to do colors like these, but they're never quite this rich.
I'm so happy to hear the white is a very thin overspray, I was wondering about that. I'm definitely getting both (even though I got Veronica's Blush hehe) because I personally love the design. Thanks for the info doll! I'm even more excited for the collection now :happydance:

Yay I'm skipping this collection! I was only somewhat interested in lipsticks and after swatches I can happily pass!

- PP Mooncake (maybe)

Someone has any swatches PP or lip balms?

Thanks liba for the review! I'm happy that I'll be skipping the pearlmattes. I have Veronica's Blush now and I don't need two products that basically do the same thing. Plus I love the hearts just a little bit more...LOL!!

I really hope somebody ends up posting swatches of the individual colors in the Pearlmattes. I'm kinda hoping it will be possible to use them as eyeshadows also, especially Pink Buttercream.

Very helpful, thank you! I was wondering how close the PMs were to the Veronicas Blush and the Betty one

Mine
Mine is exactly the same list

Mine too. Not really in love with anything else. I am not a huge fan of the pearlmattes. Not enough pop for me and it seems like overkill with 4 new pearlmattes in 3 months. Then they are repromoting lightscapade and that is like the most boring skinfinish I've every seen. :/

I hadn't been planning on RS for myself, that's for sure - and now it's a big YES.

I'd wanted DF, and that one became a NO for me, strangely enough. If you didn't BU Boyfriend Stealer and wish you had, or you wanted something a touch browner/warmer than BS, it's nice, if you can get over the patchy application. You know me, I normally don't find most MAC lipsticks to go on patchy, but this one was a trouble maker.

TY Liba! I will skip DF lippy if its skippity application annoyed you, I do want a browner BF stealer, but I am thinking I can get that by layering BF Stealer over a brown lip pencil. And I hate when the application isn't even.

On the other hand, you do have me intrigued with the In for a Treat Pearlmatte, did you end up getting it? I have the Flower Fantasy one from Vera and I have the Betty pearlmatte, so I am betting I don't need this one. I wonder if anyone who has all of those can compare. Unfortunately I am not convinced I need it and will probably be enabled right after it goes OOS

Well, you would miss out on the nice sheer texture of DF if you wore pencil underneath. I do think there will be more colors like these down the road, though, including the level of sheerness.

I really liked In for a Treat - it looked much nicer on me than the Betty one, which I skipped due to the color not suiting me or either of the Veras, which I really didn't like and skipped. The thing about both of these Baking Beauties PMs is that the texture is exceptional - better than the Archies ones, which were really nice. We are seriously in full Elude territory with these. In for a Treat was extra nice because the amount of green and especially coral was reasonably controllable. It suited my sallow-leaning skin VERY well and looked totally natural. Pink Buttercream also looked great on me, but it's a bit more "nighttime" or formal, since it reads very obviously cool toned.
