Liba why did you have to say that Raspberry Swirl is the perfect bubblegum Barbie pink?....why??? lol after reading your reviews on this collection i'm sold on quite a few items i never would've considered. Thank you Liba!

Lavender Whip and Raspberry Swirl both look WAAAAAY better on me than Budding Love did, which was just wrong and I didn't even bother to buy it, if that helps any. I think you should be able to wear both, but LW is a bit more subtle than RS if you want only one.
Thank you for saying that! Budding Love was a fail on me.

I really do try to be the anti-enabler when I can, but nope, couldn't do that with Raspberry Swirl. I usually look horrible in that shade too, so if it actually works, there's no denying…

LOL, just to show you how much I have working against me with pinks like that, I've got freckles, my skin leans sallow, I've got naturally black brows and pigmented lips AND I'm in my mid-40's, hahaha. Recipe for disaster! I didn't reserve a BU of it, but I'm thinking about it…last year I didn't BU Reel Sexy and it became my most used and I had to scurry around until a wonderful specktrette sold me her BU. This is basically the pink version of Reel Sexy for me.

T says the new LW is different than the original. Now I'm not sure if I still want it. I have Budding Love and don't like it much.

I was wondering about that too. The close ups of the tube show this LW has some sort of shimmer or pearl, and I'm not sure the original has that. I'll have to take a look. Yes, I just looked at my LW and I don't see the pearl. In fact, the new one reminds me of Bubblegum (which I love too), but with more purple undertones. I would love to see a side by side swatch of new and old LW to see if there really is a difference.

I see the color difference, but It's so marginal. I think it's so close, that it's probably just a difference in batches, and not a formula change.

She added a side by side comparison, its the last image. I think she just added it, because I didn't see it the first time I looked at the page. The 2008 LW doesn't seem to have that same pearly sheen, but I think that might be the angle. In this swatch ( http://www.temptalia.com/lavender-whip-vs-fun-fun-vs-fashion-mews ) It does have that same pearl sheen.

Hmm this might change my mind. I kept looking at all the swatches thinking it looked more pink but that isn't the case. Its more opaque looking and bluer. Still looks pretty but not sure I want more.

That would be very disappointing. Not surprising, but disappointing nonetheless. MAC shouldn't 'repromote' items if they can't get them to be the same as the originals. Just put out the lipstick and give it a different name. Oh, but then, it might not create as much hype right MAC? Ugghh!

Just like Candy Yum Yum. We all know the new one is slightly off from the original. I like the one I have from By Request but in the back of my mind I know I'd love to have the original.

I don't have the original LW, but I can guarantee you that when I used the new version (I was the first person to open the tester, so you better believe I slathered that all over my mouth), it doesn't read as having any shimmer at all. It just was super duper smooth, creamy, opaque and yet not thick or chalky looking. It didn't lean pink at all, but the bluish cast was more of an undertone in the color mix that gave off a rich glow, rather than blue shimmer or opalescence, etc.

On my reddish lips, it looked like a softer, creamier Blooming Lovely with less red and less grey, and a touch lighter and bluer. Like I was saying, now I see what the hype was all about. The texture on this new batch is particularly spectacular. Most of my cremesheens don't behave nearly as well, by far.

EDIT: I just saw Temptalia's review. All I can say is, it SERIOUSLY does not look that pink on me - not by a long shot. Also it reads WAAAAAAAY more lavender blue on me than Budding Love did, by far. Plus Budding Love was in no way as smooth, creamy and excellent a Cremesheen formula as this new LW.

I can understand if people have the old version and don't want to go through the bother of getting a BU, or folks who already have tons of lavender lipsticks and are trying to save money and hassle on just adding another one untested to their collection, but as someone who is picky about lavender and looks crappy in most pale pinks, I'm really impressed with this one and am backing it up. It immediately went to the front of my lavender love lipstick pile.

After seeing the Pearlmatte swatches on Temptalia, i am even MORE excited about them! The colors are exactly what i was hoping for. Woo-hoo! Betty's Flatter Me was too orange for me, but In for a Treat looks perfect. So what if they look in the pan like Granny's chenille bathrobe.

And after reading Liba's great reviews, i may even go for a nail polish!

My previously enabling SA has moved on - she was working special shows, so i hope she's doing something more fun than working in my local MAC. But there's a real sweetie who has been there for ages and knows me, too, and she talked me into getting a makeover with this collection (as if she had to twist my arm hard), so she's holding my requested products for me. I should let her know i no longer want Devil's Food (too much like other things i have) and see if she can hold some nail polish for me, instead.

Liba, you enabler, you!

With the new photos and swatches, my shopping list hasn't changed much except:
-- to remove Devil's Food - i have enough lipsticks like this
-- to test Raspberry Swirl which i was not considering before.
-- to consider Fancy Frosting - i thought i didn't need it, since i have Maybelline Color Tattoo Too Cool
-- to test the nail polish. Liba has me leaning toward Confectionary - i don't wear pink anything other than eyeshadow, and don't own any pink nail polish.

Rasberry Swirl Lipstick - Light white blue pink (to test)
Lavender Whip Lipstick - Light cool lavender (FOR SURE!)

Glacé Mineralize Tinted Lip Balm - Creamy pale baby blue (FOR SURE!)
Sweet Tooth Mineralize Tinted Lip Balm - Creamy lilac (maybe... probably - i really like these balms! and i generally dislike balms)

Eclair Paint Pot - Light chocolate with gold pearl (FOR SURE!)
Mooncake Paint Pot - Warm beige (FOR SURE!)
Fancy Frosting Paint Pot - Frosted white (and Liba has me wanting to test this, when before it was a skip)

In For A Treat Pearlmatte - Champagne base with matte coral flowers and mint leaves (FOR SURE!)
Pink Buttercream Pearlmatte - Light silvery pink base with dark pink flowers and periwinkle leaves (FOR SURE!)

Confectionary Nail Lacquer - Light blue pink (Cream) (to test)

I like Liba's comment on how Fancy Frosting brings out the Extra Dimensional Eye Shadows. So, how different or how similar are MAC Fancy Frosting Paint Pot and Maybelline Color Tattoo Too Cool? I have Too Cool, but if Fancy Frosting is kinda sheer and creamy, it might be good to have, too...
