Hey everyone! I was in my store today to pick up Fashion Sets and peek at Extra Dimension when all the Baking Beauties products came in, so I got to try everything out! Biggest surprise: Raspberry Swirl lipstick. I usually do not do well with these sorts of pinks AT ALL and besides, MAC puts so many of them out, they usually seem pretty redundant. BUT, RS is totally gorgeous and looks great even on my old, sallow NC15 skin tone. It just glows, with a beautiful bluish cast. If Lavender Whip is too purple for your taste, you are going to go berry berry crazy over RS. To put it in perspective, if you loved the amount of brightness and lightness in Reel Sexy, but wished it was a perfect bubblegum Barbie pink, RS is the one. Devils Food was an only slightly more brownish Boyfriend Stealer, which has a little more berry cast. The two are extremely close in color and sheerness, except I found Devils Food applied more fussily - it was a bit patchier and showed up dry bits on the lips more, plus Boyfriend Stealer is more buildable. Devils Food isn't buildable. It's a nice color but especially if you have BS, you really don't need it. Pure Decoration is quite pretty. If you love Playing Koi and need an update, PD is a little less strongly pastel and has a nice smooth texture. The only thing for me was, I compared it to Luxe Naturale Mineralize lipstick and it's just about the same color, at least on me (maybe PD is a little more peachy) and for my taste, I liked the glossier finish of Luxe Naturale against my skin. With one of the BEAUTIFUL Pearlmattes, PD might edge out Luxe N. It's a definite maybe or even more if you don't have Playing Koi or are going to be wearing a dewey or slightly light reflective skin texture (or are blessed with one already). Lavender Whip: well yeah, it's really beautiful. No doubt about it. It's surprisingly close to Blooming Lovely on me, but with a much nicer texture. It's so smooth and creamy, just like Raspberry Swirl. It's also a little more glossy than Blooming Lovely, with more of a glow to the color (also with a bluish cast to the brightness, like RS). I've loved BL since Liberty of London and never had LW before, but now I see the big deal about it. It's a BIG winner, of course. My 2 picks are RS and LW with a maybe on PD and a full pass on DF. I'll post about more stuff in a second post, to keep this one short-ish.
